No, they are very different.
A drawfag is someone who draws requests and does them at least somewhat well. Their only concern is doing requests they like as it's a way for them to challenge their limits and expand their abilities through practice.
An avatarfag is someone who takes a character and talks through the character to the thread. They only draw their OC, and if they do requests, it's only of their OCs. They also have a tendency to draw poorly. Their only concern is attention whoring.
In very rare cases can someone be both a drawfag and an avatarfag. I think the last most notable example of this was YV. He had times where all he would do was avatarfag and other times where all we would do was pump out deliveries. Hero, sort of, fits this category as well, but he leans more towards the avatarfag side.

Yea Forums drawthreads are shit. Seldom do drawfags come here. The only people that really populate these threads are retarded spergs, requesters, and avatarfags that pretend that they're drawfags. You can largely blame the latter for the state of these threads. They see this place as a chatroom where they draw reaction images of their avatars, not a place for requesting and creative drawing. Avatarfags actively scare off drawfags when they do happen across these threads, whether through excessive attention whoring, forced namefagging, or shitting all over them because "they did the wrong request." Not to mention you have to deal with them pretending like they know anything about art.
All other boards' drawthreads have a clean format that encourages deliveries and creativity. Even /trash/ drawthreads are in a better state than Yea Forums drawthreads, and honestly, that's fucking sad. Avatarfagging lands you a ban, and namefagging is extremely minimal. All drawfags are thanked greatly for their work by the requester and other anons. Good deliveries get the honor of being included in the next drawthread OP. Some of them even offer critiques and constructive criticism when warranted by other drawfags.
In brief, Yea Forums drawthreads focus around the individuals that FORCE identification on its posters. All other board's drawthreads focus around the content in the threads.
The root of the problem is the avatarfags. They're the ones that force the identification, not only on themselves but on other posters. They only care about the persona. Take away the avatarfags and you lose this corrupted culture. Things will return to the norm that is traditional imageboard culture, the focus on content rather than the user.
You can naysay all you like, but it doesn't change the fact of the matter.

Here's some additional info. The penguin named Lala is apparently a male penguin despite its name. He was caught injured in a fishnet in Kagoshima prefecture, Japan about 22 years ago. The family seen in the video nurtured him until he fully recovered. Since he refused to leave the family, the family accepted him and build him the little airconditioned room. He lived on for 10 years with the family until he died of old age in 1996. Within the town he lived in, he was well known (not really a surprise i guess) and the path he'd take to go to the fish store was known as the "lala-chan road" and people would spray some water on the road during hot days in the summer to protect his little feet from burning on the concrete.

Under any other pretense, this would be bait. The only saving grace you have remains the fact that you haven't posted here for months, and your behavior from before remains relatively identical. You can import your old brushes from Sai 1 to 2, and as far as I know no features were removed, only added. For instance, you now have a text tool and transparency backgrounds for your images.
