The school was a high school, I'm in Scotland, dunno what they're called in Englandshire though... We do Primary (1-7 ages 5-11 ish) then High school (minimum of S1-4 age 12-16 minimum) This was in S5 (age 15/16)

Primary - Reception, Yr 1-6
Secondary - Yr 7-13
We usually call year 12 and 13 college or sixth form - it's the year when we do our A levels
