Guaranteed 1K a month would solve all my problems. I earn more than that but it takes all my time
Can't buy happiness.
Like a lot of socialist "solutions," it solves one problem and creates a thousand new problems
Goddamn Jet Li calm the fuck down.
Yang isn't a socialist, he's an idiot.
He is doing it the wrong way, no one likes paying for handouts. They should tax exempt the first 20K of income. You want that extra 1k a month, you gotta work for it. He should show everyone that raising the federal tax rate a couple percent on income over 1 million would result in a big tax cut for those making under 100k. Total tax income would stay the same, but the rich would pay more and the middle class would actually benefit for once.
is this what /pol/ incels really deduce Yang to?
I'd be fucking embarrassed.
you sure told them dumb americans!

>Everyone tells me that if you get one of these independent counsels it ruins your presidency. It takes years and I won't be able to do anything.
I like how that wasn't highlighted. If you were told that you'd be wasting time in these matters because your name was being dragged, everyone would react like all the highlighted text in this article, js. There is no admission of guilt which is what I'm assuming this carefully highlighted text is supposed to assume.
Interesting idea I like it
i like how you clearly didn't read the entire document and pretend that you did
traitors
If the report actually had any concrete evidence of Trump having committed a crime, don't you think they would have used that instantly you absolute brainlet?
that's actually not how law works for a current president, wait until he's out of term.
reeeee
guaranteed /pol/
I read the entire document. What part do you think I am overlooking? What in there could discredit my original post, or dispute, or argue it's content: Generally curious. Looking forward to whatever I am missing!
>Yang: "Elect me and I will give you $1,000.00 per month!!"
>Yang: Elected president
>Yang first day in office: "yeah fuck that, we can't afford to do that, but thanks for the votes you stupid fucks. LOL TOPKEK ROFL"
And this won't cause any other problems. Prices won't go up. Taxes won't increase. People won't get even lazier. Free shit always makes things better. Look at how successful the war on poverty is.
>I read the entire document.
You clearly didn't or glanced over it without actually understanding it. Consult an actual lawyer if you're too dumb to understand it.
>Looking forward to whatever I am missing!
>entire legal concepts going over his head
weak
The fat man dies woth a knife to the groin
The fat man dies with a knife to the groin
The fat man dies with a knofe to the groin
The fat man dies with a knofe tp the groin
Again, you aren't really making an argument. I made an argument that states the highlights in the text are carefully chosen with the most interesting text, one that isn't highlighted being:
>Everyone tells me that if you get one of these independent counsels it ruins your presidency. It takes years and I won't be able to do anything.
That text alone vindicates all the highlighted text as you can see absolute disapproval with the potential of being weighted down instead of making presidential decisions. Whether you agree with him or not, ANYONE would be upset by a special counsel that takes their time. No admission of guilt is displayed throughout the text. So I'll give you one more chance to make an argument. What exactly do you think I'm missing? Or perhaps you don't agree with me? Because saying 'You didn't read it" isn't an argument because there is zero implication on what point you're making other than ad hominem perhaps.
See If you are going to make implications like that, you need to format it into an argument otherwise you're just making blanket statements. What legal concepts are so important here? Because I think you are simply trying to overt attention from an argument. Are you going to concede or defend your statement with some rational thinking?
nice song :)
Why does every political thread here turn into a fuck trump meme dump. That isn't an argument and comes off childish to me. Just as bad as all the dumb obongo is teh devil junk. Make a fucking argument. I didn't vote for Trump and I don't really want to but if all you guys got is dumb memes and commies for your nominee what option do I even have?
Do I get that $ on top of my ssd after paying my bills and what thay take out for medical that covers nothing literally. .. I only have like 100$ left for the rest of the month and that go's to a gym membership and some food ... I have to live with my brother thares no way to find affordable liveing any bit more wI'll help it be nice to save money and may be. Have something I want in time with fare time saving
I don't get any thing free because I'm disabled and work for a bit of time so I did put in to what a get ... it's not welfare I don't qualify for food stamps or houses ing or any of thos things all the gimme that niggers get . Can buy freedom
>pretending that a joke shirt makes them unamerican while the left has been explicitly opposed to American principles/values forever and will continue to be.
Sad.
Having the govt tax people to give you 1k dollars is the exact opposite of freedom. They're enslaved and you're dependent.
I'll open a liquor store if he gets voted in.
Nope. See successful countries in Europe. Also that's a social democracy, not full out socialism.
>cites FDR and Lincoln, easily the worst presidents in history and the most akin to European fascists and opposed to American liberalism.
FDR dragged us into WW2, possibly allowing Pearl Harbor to occur, and he created the great depression with his New Deal programs. Lincoln explicitly violated the voluntary nature of the Union and killed half a million people to keep the South from forming its own union after he abused them with economic policy that enriched his cronies.
lmao the left is so fucking retarded. They're literal shock troops for the managerial state and they think they're part of a plucky rebellion.
>See successful countries in Europe.
Umm, I'm looking, but all I see is even more debt/taxes than we have and a rapidly distabilizing civilization, because my head is not lodged firmly up my rectum.
but people aren't dying of lack of insulin or bad healthcare at least
You only earn 1000$ guaranteed. Meaning if u make 750 a mont u get 250 from government. Not an extra 1000
That's not what Yang is offering. The freedom dividend is given to everyone.
Exactly! National social democracy. You can even give it a catchy acronym like NaSi do.
Thanks to innovations from the US. Your commie system doesn't advance medicine.
>paying taxes so incels and neets can shitpost all day
No thanks. I prefer hillary over this manlet chink
I like the Yang.any nudes?
But your rent is now 1000 dollars more and the bank will give you 1000 dollar less loans, where is the benefit?
There is none lmao. Yang is retarded
For all the haters here: What is Trump's plan for automation and AI?
i would assume nuke it/put it in cages
It isn't something to worry about for 10 or 20 years and I hope to be specialized in a field by then. Stay in school kiddo
What is yang's plan for automation and AI?
Giving money to neets so they can buy videogames doesn't sound like a solid plan.
So you say automation/AI is not going to be an issue for 10 - 20 years...what does that even mean lol? Like what is your threshold? And also that's wrong because it already is happening and has happened. It's not like overnight 10 years from now every job will be automated.
It's going to happen in waves. Like truck drivers will start losing jobs soon to automated trucks. This isn't science fiction, there are self driving cars *right now*. So the issue is that we can either prepare our economy for the drastic changes coming, or we can just halt human progression and say that we have peaked. And denying automated trucks that will make things safer for everyone, and drastically more efficient just for the sake of holding onto the concept of keeping jobs just to keep jobs, is insane.
This isn't something we can just react to in 10 - 20 years. We have to take steps now so that when it starts happening more and more we are at least somewhat prepared for it.
The big issue is that other candidates aren't even talking about it. I don't even care if I disagree with their solutions... They act like it doesn't exist. Trump is an old stubborn man and so are most people in power. There is no way they will understand or believe anything about automation and AI...have you seen the way they talk ignorantly about technology, the internet, etc?
You are seriously fucking dumb if you think truck drivers are in danger. They will literally pay to teach you how to drive a rig because they are at a shortage in that industry
Are you for real right now? Loool. Bruh. If you can have a "driver" that can literally drive 24/7 with no breaks and is literally safer for the truck and other drivers...or spend months training a human who is vastly less safe and inefficient...who do you think they'll choose?
tbh i want automation to take over everything.
Google is your friend all you have to do is Google "truck drivers 2019" but you won't because you are under age 21 and stupid
Just in general automation and AI will pay itself off very quickly. And they don't need benefits or time off or anything. Why would businesses not take that? Especially since it's so hard for small businesses to even start up, let alone stay afloat.
Any examples of this happening or are you just spreading fear?
Imagine automated automation
Did you google "truck drivers 2019" I will take that as a no. You will only find articles that agree with me
Don't you think if everyone in the country has 1K more expendable income, that every retailer and shop owner and landlord who wasn't a complete retard, just increase their prices?
Meant for
Banks are a retail business. They aren't there to help you make money.
I'm 30 and I'm a programmer who makes games, apps, and applications for businesses lol. I work from home about 20 hours a week and live fine off that. So.
How is googling truck drivers 2019 going to do anything? If there is a shortage that's irrelevant. They will fill all the empty spots with automation, and replace existing drivers with automation. I already stated the reasons why; it's extremely more cost efficient, safe, and productive.
Also think of the cascading effects. When it picks up more truck stops will start shutting down too.
Money will definitely make it easier to find it.
The minimum will never be enough as goods are sold at market price, which will increase as you have that 1k. This can only work if free market is desteoyed... But markets that aren't free don't survive
Yang calls himself a progressive. He's basically a Hillary Clinton who eats PHO.
Except test runs of automated cars have already KILLED people. And local laws are still a factor ya big dummy
its not a bad plan, tbh. look at his site.
I take it then you think Monopoly is a socialist game? Imagine starting monopoly with no money given to you and no start to collect.
That may work mathematically, but math tends to fall apart in practice due to humans being clever enough to work around it. If you tax income over 1 million then all of a sudden rich people will be making less than 1 million by shifting income and assets to corporate entities and other structures. It's the old principle of own nothing but control everything. Every year my accountant reviews my income and assets and figures out how to make me wealthier by making me more poor on paper. Hate it if you want, but that's the game. You don't have to play
The worst thing that happens from implementing UBI is that people move away from urban areas and into rural areas and nobody is really any better off.
At least go to his site and see how he breaks it down. He's very transparent and relies on facts, math, and statistics, unlike most.
First of all it's not printing new money.
Also it's mostly paid for by a VAT which basically literally every developed nation has; and it's 5% less than other countries so no, they won't just take their business to other countries. So if they pass all the extra cost to consumers, then that means probably worst case scenario imagine everything going up 10% in cost. You have to spend *$10,000* month to start breaking even with a $1,000 dividend. AND he said that some essential goods would not be subject to the VAT. So basically if you're spending over $10,000/month on luxury items, than you will start to see a slight decline. If you are spending that you're going to be fine, I promise.
And even when the government has printed trillions of dollars to TRY to create some inflation, they could barely even get it to go as high as they wanted.
Keep in mind this has basically already been happening in Alaska for like 50 years and they love it. And that's a super Conservative/Repulican state.
Then it's class warfare. You shouldn't be punished for being rich. Pay your fair share but at the same rate as everyone else. It's funny that visionaries and futurist realize that UBI is the only solution but simple minds like you can't see it. Implementing a VAT like every other modern economy would ensure companies like Amazon, who paid 0 in taxes, pay their fair share. Much better approach.
But also rent goes up 1000 dollars and the bank gives you less money because the government gibsmedats
Well what you're referring to is a big issue he is addressing - that our current tax system is broken because there are so many ways for billionaires and huge corporations to pay little or no taxes, and then poor/average people end up footing the bill. One main property of a VAT and why it's so popular is that it's nearly impossible for companies to sneak around it.
You're not being punished for being rich lol dafuq. It's just that they aren't paying their fair share. We pay immensely more relative to what we make. And maybe you posted that about the VAT before my message, but yes, most of this will be paid by a VAT so...I mean I don't see how you could disagree now lol.
Also if anyone has a problem with it then just donate it to a charity lol.
Which American principals/values are those?
How do you know Amazon paid 0 taxes? Did you see Besoz tax returns.. or did you read it from a dubious source on the internet... or worse yet you heard it from Billy bob next door?
Rent will not go up $1,000 loool.
You can show me where I said Amazon paid zero taxes if you want. Hmm.
Yes it will stack. It will lift you up
Moron... Bezos taxes and Amazon's taxes are different things. Most large corporations pay zero taxes due to the write off from capital expenditures.
You aren't taxing the people. He will do it through a VAT that will ensure companies like Amazon pay taxes. A VAT of 10% would bring in over $800 billion dollars from companies who avoid paying taxes. Even if the companies try to pass that on to the consumer, you would have to spend $20,000 a month for the $1000 Freedom Dividend to be nullified.
I can tell you one of the biggest benefits will be that small businesses will start popping up like crazy, and a lot won't have to shut down.
I have a small business, I also contract for my brother's small business, we make software for small businesses, I come from a family of entrepreneurs and small business owners...so that's the disclaimer to say I know what I'm talking about.
Most people can't start a business and stay at a crappy job all their life. If they have a $1,000/month padding, they will be so much more likely to take "risks" like starting a business.
What kind of moron would think this would work?
Well, troll, you can look through my extensive posts and give a rebuttal to them if you want. Our current economy literally will not sustain itself. It's not built for automation and AI.
I don't know what blog or YouTube video you watched but that's a dishonest simplification.
The fact is, UBI is the most capitalistic thing you could implement. It promotes free market and competition. Why won't your rent jump to $1000 extra, because you now have the financial freedom to move to a place where they aren't charging an extra $1000. Just like McDonald's wouldn't raise their prices because they know you would just stop eating there and going to Burger King because they didn't raise a dime. Giving people buying power ultimately goes back into those company's hands making them more money than raising their prices.
Apparently you're the dumb one. The cost of training a driver is peanuts compared to how much the company gets in return. They don't pay you because there is a shortage, they pay you because they make more off you by putting another truck on the road. It's a bigger threat then you seem to care.
Market price won't increase because competition is still present. It works best in a free market
This looks like some shit Kyle Kolinski or David Pakman would analyze for 15 minuets and come to that retarded conclusion.
So you haven't seen the actual numbers you are just making talking points you heard others say? Got it
Test runs of consumer vehicles that drive themselves sure. The R&D these companies are investing in are nothing like consumer vehicles.
Sweden.
Capitalism is about utilizing means to make profit. But there is a literal shortage of truck drivers right now meaning more goods need to be shipped than people able to ship them at the moment
The ones that niggers and shit skins can’t replicate all across the world because their genome didn’t evolve for complex societies.
Yeah, I mean so you own a truck driving business, and you have two options in front of you:
1) Pay to train a human, spend time training that human before they can start working, have them drive roughly 12 - 16 hours a day, give them expensive benefits, make sure everything is insured properly, have risk of your driver having an accident and dying or getting injured plus liability for others on the road, and taking that driver away from his family for weeks/months.
OR
2) Pay/get a loan for the upfront cost of truck automation, get it installed, put it on the road. It can drive 24/7, will be safer, and there aren't extra costs associated with it such as health insurance.
I wonder which you would choose.
I wasn't going to respond to such a moronic reply but what the heck....
You're dumb, the end.
The point is automation can fill all those truck driver gaps, and replace existing ones with all the benefits I listed. Not sure what about that isn't getting through to you.
More buyers with money will increase the price. Companies sell to what the market will bear... So more money at lower levels will increase how much consumers will pay.
Under this plan, you'll need to fix prices.
You'd be better off just giving people so much kwh of electricity, gallons of water, and other essentials in units not dollars.
fucking learn how to use this site you mongoloid motherfucker I won't bother replying to you again.
what are local laws? nevermind the fact that we are decades away from self driving big rigs
>At least go to his site and see how he breaks it down. He's very transparent and relies on facts, math, and statistics, unlike most.
Here's a fact.
I'd rather keep my 1K than send it off, only to get some of it back
This reactionary mentality is so bad. Like just wait until a problem is fully formed and on top of us, then we will start discussions about dealing with it. ESPECIALLY since this requires drastic rethinking of economy and society.
Imagine hearing that a tornado is coming tomorrow and they're telling you precautions to take and you're just like "Meh, that's a whole day away." Or finding out you have stage 1 cancer and just being like, "Meh, it won't be stage 4 for a couple years."
you dont earn shit, your a welfare abusing leech like the rest of people who support democrats
There is literally nothing wrong with a fully automated society you fucking luddites.
automation isn't a problem it is a factor you damn child. learn the difference, first. automation is firstly inevitable, you don't see so many PHONE OPERATORS anymore do you? because that industry can better and more efficiently be served by machines.
Learn to do something that a robot can't do. Or at least a robot won't be able to do for a long time. this is called "job security". let me ask you an honest question, why do you feel entitled to a job or income for that matter?
an extra 1000 dollars a month and i'd probably be dead within 6 months. Pretty much the only reason i'm still alive is I run out of money from paycheck to paycheck and am forced to be sober for a day or three until the next one.
read this statement. read it again and again and again. this is why giving people free money is a bad idea, thank you for sharing user.
Yeah I would just stop working for sure
there is when the world population is so high. We can't have it both ways. Either cut the world population down to a more reasonable number (a few hundred million) and have our techno-utopia future, or keep breeding indiscriminately and hinder technological progress to make sure all those people can have a job/purpose in life.
It wouldn't increase the price. That's not how economics works. Although demand might increase slightly, supply will also increase to meet demand but because of competition in the market, prices can't diverge too much or you hurt your bottom line. If you really think about it. It's not like you are gonna have an over crowding at McDonald's now because everyone has more money. That money would go more towards car repairs, renovations, school, bills, etc. Not saying the consumer market will go unchanged but it would be negligible. The cost of a McDonald's cheeseburger didn't drop during the recession when people had less money, it won't go up because people have more.
>our techno-utopia future,
why are you so fucking entitled why? why is it OUR future? did you build or program any of the machines? why should you live and millions other die?
Lol ok first off, I am fully supportive of automation and AI. So is Yang. The issue is that with our current mentality and economic system it will destroy us. I'm excited for automation and AI, I hope it takes away meaningless, repetitive jobs. We can either let it destroy us or advance us and make us thrive. I choose the latter.
I own a business and do programming and creative work, so I should be fine for a while. But you're missing the bigger picture. So you said "long time" meaning eventually they will take most if not all jobs right? So what then? And do you want to wait until then when 90% of the population is dying and has no way of getting income? Or maybe we should start discussing solutions and implementing them gradually so as it happens more and more it doesn't kill us.
And also what you're saying is that along the way if people are caught off guard with new tech that is going to eliminate their job then oh well they deserve to die I guess. That's so toxic. Reactionary mentality is so bad.
So 10% tax on everything but inflation won't go up? Big ticket item sales like houses, cars, boats, all going up will negatively effect sales. Yang will kill the housing, auto and luxury item industry.
why not?
anyway you clearly don't have to worry about it, those that oppose it will be the first to die.
>I am a programmer
Obviously not a very good one seeing as how you aren't programming these cutting edge machines. You probably know a few basic languages and can make a webpage. Fucking cool. But do they not have programs that can nearly write programs at this point? that is why you are so worried because you see your own failure.
Again I ask why are you entitled to a job? why does the world owe you an income? you are a nasty consumer and I hate you seriously.
Maybe not, but you can get damn close...
what did you offer to it? what have you done to create this future?
If you really think this troll is telling the truth, you're blind. When have you ever seen a financially stable addict? He would be dead now regardless of how much he had.
you have never been in the real world if you have never seen a functioning addict. "financially stable" is relative and doesn't mean much of anything. you are probably still in school
Lol either a troll or a really sad person. Sorry if your life sucks man I genuinely mean that. So what do you do?
And actually no, I make an effort to learn new things all the time and challenge myself. I want to do machine learning soon. Let's see, I taught game development at a university for 4 years starting at 26, with no formal education btw, all self taught. I can do C#, Unity, 3D modeling, Flutter. This year I learned to do ASP.NET Core, WPF, Entity Framework. Definitely more too.
A VAT tailored to luxury goods. Housing isn't considered a luxury in terms of market. That 10% is aimed at the companies as an expense. Even if the companies passed that down to the consumers, we would have to spend $10,000 a month for the UBI to be nullified. Most countries with a VAT passed on only half the VAT. So a 5% consumer tax, we would have to spend $20,000 a month. Hardly going to kill anything but poverty.
No. Corporations will identify this new money and do everything to maximize prophits from it.
Rent will magically increase, landlords will want thier cut.
As it's government money, it's percieved as infinite. 1000 will be worthless.
Yes this.
In an economy where the mighty dollar is and drives everything, financially stable is by no means relative. You're probably the addict.
then arguably you are a part of the "automation problem" you keep crying about. you are truly an enigma to me user. you care about people that much? that is adorable.
I studied people intensely, that is my degree. And believe me I don't give a shit about any of you. I care about Orangutans whose biggest threat is... you guessed it PEOPLE. So my wish is to conserve Orangutans which are critically endangered. Past that I don't care about income if I have food in my stomach
Lol well I mean I guess the discussion is over if you hate me because I care about people.
Great! Let's devalue our currency because this guy can't solve his own problems.
where the mighty dollar reigns and there is a gap between the rich and the poor (possibly the largest it has ever been) it is entirely relative you dummy. Some people live on 20k a year. Others live on 200k a year. Some people make much less or much more than that. "financially stable" means different things to different people
I don't hate you because you care about people. I don't know enough about you to care to hate you.
I don't care for people in general. Why should I? My family I love, my friends are cool. But society at large? as someone who studied it I don't think it is worth "saving"
This level of ignorance can't be real, right? This is surely a troll, right?
>> FDR caused the great depression, which began slowly in 1927, and peaked during the crash of '29. But the New Deal wasn't started until 1933.
Bro the great depression was primarily caused by a massive evaporation of capital because of highly leveraged margin-supported stock buying.
>> FDR failed because he got us into WW2
Our entrance into WW2 was probably the best thing to happen to the US, in our history. Just about every other nation on the planet was both economically and militarily indebted to us for the next 100 years.
>> Civil War was bad, not because it freed the slaves, but because the bourgeois south didn't want to pay for real fucking labor.
What kind of nonsense is it to claim that the civil war was anyone's fault but the south?! Did they think they'd just have free labor in perpetuity? For fuck sake, most of Europe outlawed slavery 100+ years prior to our civil war and they just didn't see the writing on that wall for a fucking century? Just further proves the south is America's down-syndrome kid.
I mean I agree that society as a whole is pretty fucked up. But this stuff will help the people you do care about, and give them a society that is better to live in.
Just saying, there wouldn't be a shortage of truck drivers if they were paid adequately, provided benefits, and not worked to death.
No young person wants to go be a truck driver because they know that career is literally a death sentence by age 50 because of the sedentary lifestyle, absence of health benefits, and shit pay. Not to mention 50-250k in debt to buy your rig.
>Amazon, who paid 0 in taxes
When are you niggers gonna stop posting this lie. They paid 1.1 billion in 2018, buzzfeed is full of shit.
ir.aboutamazon.com
>But this stuff will help the people you do care about,
that number is dwindling every day. I have lost all my grand parents and a handful of aunts and uncles in the past few years alone. My cousins are next. My sweet grandmother lived through the great depression to see 2018. How horrible that must have been for her. I understand you think it is virtuous or whatever to care about people and society but have you ever considered for a moment that nobody in the world cares that you live or die? people really are that self interested
Vat taxes do get passed to the consumer it gets taken out of employees paychecks thru lower pay. Don't tell me what most countries do to confuse things. Stick with yangs plan, that's what your getting paid to push. In his plan, if I buy a modest house on my block, the house will cost 300,000.. my vat tax will be 30,000 more for the house. You don't see where housing will take a shit since houses are 10% more? Please don't say "but user, you will get that money back in yang bucks in three years" . I will still have 30,000 less after three years then if I didn't buy the house. It will be the same for new cars, boats, campers, cabins...these are things hard working middle class people buy on occasion.
imagine thinking 50k is a lot of money
>> I don't know the difference between federal taxes and other taxes, like FICA, SS, FUTA, Payroll taxes, local taxes.
>> Amazon paid 1.1b in taxes guys, Amazon isn't bad!
>> Amazon made >200b in revenue in 2018 you fucking dolt. That means, even the nothing tax they paid was > And here you are getting cucked at >15% in your own taxes.
Keep going full retard user.
Which lends to my argument that it isn't relative. Just because they live off of a certain amount doesn't mean it is stable you dummy. Im sure if I really wanted to, I could survive off of 20k a year but it in no way will be stable. Notice how most people and how I just did now, refer to it as surviving? When is just getting by considered stable. If you and your gf/bf are fighting everyday, would you consider a stable relationship? Or will you make the argument that it's relative to you and because you both are arguing, it's mutual and thus stable. The world would see you as people who shouldn't be together.
>> Imagine 50k is a lot of money.
It is when your income is 50k/year as a truck driver and you have 50-250k in debt.
>> What's an amortization table?
50k at 5% interest over a 120 month loan term is ~64k over the life of the loan. And truck drivers never get a raise.
everything you are talking about is relative. everything. your definitions of stability are different from the next guy
imagine not knowing how to reply on Yea Forums
Thank you for admitting I won the argument.
>Amazon made >200b in revenue in 2018 you fucking dolt.
Net income was 10 billion you retard. Its literally right there on the financial statement. They paid 11% of their net income as taxes.
>And here you are getting cucked at >15% in your own taxes.
So just lower them retard. Two thirds of the budget is gibs anyway; we don't actually need that shit. Just cut taxes and cut the gibs, the budget will balance out.
Half brain, housing will not be affected by his plan. Stop using it as an example you misguided dimwit. Ok let's talk about yang and only yang. Supporting a federally minimum wage ( not like Bernie) so that employees can't be affected through pay. But guess what? As someone who works, $1k a month will give you the freedom to leave your job in search for better employment if you feel like you are being mistreated. How many people feel that way now? They stay in exploitive environments because they need to make ends meet.
If the idea is so great why doesn't the entire democratic party use it? Why does it have to live and die with literally one person?
>you can't search for a new job while you already have one
You absolute retard.
>> Net income was $10b
Going full retard again?
Federal taxes are levied on profit (net income), which is why almost every f100 company (and most publicly traded companies for that matter) makes sure they itemize any "losses" they can find and spend shitloads of money to keep their revenue/expense ratio as near to 1:1 as possible.
Here are some of the things a corporation can expense to maintain that ratio:
>> Executive Housing
>> Executive compensation
>> Stock Buybacks
>> Private jet purchases
>> Sales meetings with VIPs (or any customer)
>> etc.
This is literally corporate accounting 101.
So yangs plan excludes houses? What about cars, boats, campers.....?
You really didn't answer the question and now start babbling about fed minimum wage. OK,
What should it be?
Give us a number.
How do you set a national living wage when cost of living differs greatly from places like California and new York to some places like Arkansas And Idaho?
Make sure to ctrl + p the thread so mommy can pin it to the fridge
Okay well I hope things get better for you and your loved ones.
Ok now take that and add the money earned in tax credits.... hmm
>I'm intrelligeant because orange man bad
>you're a stupid poopy head
Thanks again. Glad you could admit I won the argument. It's been fun.
If history has taught me one thing they won't and neither will I or you. People live struggle and die. There is no utopia. Find that thing you enjoy and find a way to get paid for it. If you don't get paid for it and still want to do it then OK
You won the virgin contest too user don't forget
Do you buy your cars up front? Or anything else you mentioned? That sales tax gets tagged on the total price that you finance. A $20,000 car with a VAT tax of $1000 brings your total to $21,000. Let's say you get a 60 month term... your payments are $350 a month. Even after using your ubi to pay for the monthly, you still have $650 of it to do whatever else you want. Now tell me this, is it really that bad of a trade off?
I have that same philosophy . I found something I like to do and became very good at it and someone pays me well to do it. I'd rather be at home then at work but I gotta do something.
No obviously people will be able to save and then we can all be millionaires! Inflation doesn't exist at all
Tax credits aren't a government expenditure you moron. They don't cost anyone anything.
Welfare is a government expenditure because 500 billion in gibs needs to be paid for by 500 billion in taxed income. 500 billion in tax credits is the government just not taking 500 billion from the people. That's not an expense you retard, that's the government not doing anything.
I buy my cars in cash. Housing would depend on interest rates . That doesn't matter. If the house costs 300,000 then there is a 300,000 transaction that will be taxed. So I pay up front or my loan goes up 30,000.
>all this storytelling with zero actual proof
Substantiate your 200 billion figure, nigger.
Was there inflation when we bailed out big banks at the tune of 4 trillion dollars? Nope
you don't understand the concept of inflation I guess. that money went to the people right? nope
Yes except it doesn't apply to housing! For fuck sake how many times does this need to be said.
>> Google
>>macrotrends.net
there revenue was actually 232b in 2018
Just looking at 2018 liabilities, it's 119b. Meaning there's another 110b in expenses in other places that balance revenue and expenses.
Like bro, I'm not lying about this shit. This is literally why there are corporate accountants who make millions/year. They find every possible way to reduce the tax expense of the company. Amazon would be paying a shitload more in FICO and FUTA, for example, if their warehouse staff weren't contractors, but employees of Amazon.
New money isn't being printed for the UBI, there won't be enough supply/ demand movement. So what exactly is going to cause this scary inflation mr. Expert.
why would you care about housing if Yang's plan ever came to pass (would never happen) you won't be able to afford housing
if everyone has more of something, it becomes worth less. would you argue this statement? I sure hope not. if everyone has more money common goods, rent, EVERYTHING will go up. the bank (which is a retail business) will lend less money because they know the government is subsidizing it
but you don't have a functioning brain so these points are lost on you. you just see 12k a year as some big improvement on your life, which is honestly the saddest part of all
Inflation won't be much of an issue, because the money supply isn't increasing. The words you're looking for are consumer-price-index. CPI and inflation are not the same.
CPI may increase, but I expect many of the low-income and middle-class people will put that 1k towards their owns debts, not into consumer spending. This will basically balance an immediate increase in CPI, and spread that CPI increase over decades, whereby the affect of UBI won't be easily seen on both CPI and inflation.
the world runs on debt. if we pay off the debt this system is no longer existent. that is the part you don't understand
Housing would be more affordable. Why? Because a ubi check can help with the mortgage. If you have the ability to pay loan up front then clearly this isn't meant to benefit you in the way it would benefit the vast majority. You'll make it back in ubi every month if you pay up front so it's still not hurting you.
Nigga what?
12k/year won't eliminate every citizen's debt.
No shit the world runs on debt. I don't expect debt to ever go away. I'm saying the affect on CPI will be minimal, for many decades, because people will probably use most of that UBI money for debt payments.
free housing for everyone get a load of this guy. you need to stay in school seriously
that is not how that will go down. people don't pay off their debt first they feed their belly and their children first. debt takes a back seat. and food prices have now gone up with magic money given to everyone so it will level back to the same as we are at now, or it could get worse. but not better
Well explained and where I missed the mark of trying to explain.
Yang's plan might work on paper but it suffers the same fatal flaw of every "system" proposed through the centuries. It assumes people are both generally good and mainly rational. Neither of which are true. It assumes people will use the UBI to pay for necessities and/or personal economic advancement. The reality is most people will view it as "free money" and will do what people usually do with "free money" blow it on unneeded luxury items.
I've brought this up before and people have countered with "rush of consumerism helps the economy" But this causes nothing but a temporary uptick. Meanwhile you have all the people who traded their welfare benefits for cash now homeless and starving. If your answer to criticism to a solution is merely, "people wouldn't do that" when if people didn't already do "that" you wouldn't have a problem to begin with, its not much of a solution.
But that's not true. We've seen the modest income increases over the past decades spent mostly on debt repayment, which is why CPI has not skyrocketed since 2009.
Well show me where he excludes housing. I'm not going to his site. You are shilling him, you do the work. What about the other things.
Listen up fag. If I didn't think yang would wreck the economy I would be a fan. I'm a high earner, more of a saver then spender so I'm sure I would be good. Buy new cars and drive till they die and own a house for 20 years with no plans on moving. If yang gets elected I would buy a new car before the car kicks in, maybe a rental home and be good. How bout the yanger give us free healthcare first instead of just throwing out money.
Low income people will buy drugs, and stupid status symbol shit. I used to be there. Don't think everyone has your values.
Umm did I say free housing? You still need credit, collateral, income... not free at all. You can't buy a house with a UBI check. You can rent one sure so I understand your confusion. Again, you're forgetting the free market and competition. If McDonald's goes up, eat at burger king. If that goes up, cook something. They will eventually drop if they ever really raise it, which is unlikely.
>checks file name
You keep saying that but you still paid 10% more.
I could care less if you support him so I don't need to do any work. Im not trying to beg your vote for him. Just informing someone who is misinformed. Im glad you have the means to live a more than comfortable lifestyle, I really mean that but that doesn't mean go on a rant without actually doing your research first.
>replace existing drivers with automation
You're pretty stupid for a "programmer". An uber test car id'd an obstacle as a woman pushing a bike across the road and hit and killed her anyway. I guess it did it for laughs. Millennial software at its finest.
I have the ability to sell my current house and use some savings to pay up front. I am far from the 1% . But see how easy it is for that 1% line to get moved. I am responsible in life and that's why I can afford to do that. As always, I'm the one stuck paying for the fuckups.
Okay here's the breakdown of their expenses. Executive housing and all that other shit isn't going in
>cost of sales
>fulfillment (amazon shipping costs)
>marketing
>technology and content
So they can only really hide it in administrative expenses and other expenses, which both sum to 4.6 billion. At best they're hiding 4.6 billion. Then hidden expenses + claimed income is at best 14.6 billion.
Like this isn't 200 billion after expenses, its 200 billion before expenses.
10% more is being covered by ubi so you really aren't paying anything are you?
And you think that will still be the case in the next few years?
muppet
Plus all these politicians sqwauking about forgiving debt. Now everyone feels their debt is someone else's fault and responsibility. Why would they pay it off?
Right which is why im against increasing tax rate on people like yourself.
>next few years
No, it will get worse you fucking idiot.
This guy understands. People need to stop projecting what they would do on the poor when trying to come up with solutions. There is a different mind set there. Debt is none of their concerns.
are you retarded?
Technology will improve and that car will no longer be a danger to the public
Automation of trucking is on the horizon, wake up
The United States is not going to elect a chink as president.
So in other words, yang never said he'd exclude housing.
>Guaranteed 1K a month
It's not enough to live off of.
Once automation is in full swing, UBI should be roughly $3000 a month.
Unless I buy something big.
>Automation of trucking is on the horizon
Just like those flying cars they predicted back in the 50s. Fuck outta here.
>I am responsible in life
No you aren't/ You eschew social responsiblity altogether and pretend it doesn't exist.
>fuckups
actually most "fuckups" get tax cuts and are billionaires who inherited the money.
The more you know bubbleboy
Homeless people still qualify for UBI. People on the welfare system often under report their earnings as to not lose their benefits. Issuing them their UBI frees them from that being you only have to be an adult citizen to qualify. But the fact that the money would go right back into the economy is a valid argument. Which is why you have over 1000 economist who have signed off on it. Not to mention visionaries and capitalist like Elon musk and mark Zuckerberg who support the idea. It would spark up small businesses and opportunity. Focusing on the spending habits of the few and using that to outweigh the benefit of the many is absurd.
Yang couldn't do shit if he were elected. He has zero experience in govt and the Republicans would eat his skinny ass alive.
You'd have to have a physical address and a bank account. Things homeless people usually don't have.
Spicy opinion you got there
You’re kidding right?
I'm on board with this if we have Medicare for all
Most trumpshits literally live in the 1950s.
you are obviously some sort of spaz, the technology literally already exits
But still 30,000 poorer then if I didn't buy a house.
The fact you don't understand basic finance could be why you are shilling for 1000 bucks s month of free money. Either that or that's the response you are told to repeat in the hopes that most won't think it thru. I will tell you one bit of advice. If yang wins, buy marijuana stocks, lots of it.
faggot shut up and stop calling social programs "handouts." It's fucking right wing fucking constipated bullshit.
I did s quick search and his nationality is no where on his site. Hmmm . Chinese plant to destroy democracy.
what is it about lolbertarians and their obsession for pot?
Truer words have never been spoken
We elected a black man. Twice. And you faggots were maf.
Being that you didn't care to hear the other 6 times I mentioned it, one more time won't change it either. So take from it however you want. Peace
How about openly tweeting about Russia helpeing him get elected
>you absolute brainlet
you elected one
I wouldn't be throwing that word around loosely
More people who haven't read any part of the report inserting their worthless opinion where it doesnt belong
trumpshits don't read
they get fed what they need to know
by Fox and Breitbart
Social responsibility ???? Didn't know that was a requirement. You know nothing about what I do . Project all you want . Paying higher taxes so losers can get free money to buy drugs and booze is not my social responsibility . It's not a good plan .
And I'd rather give tax breaks to Corp and people who create jobs then welfare momma.
Work conditions will have to get better because people aren't desperate, wages will rise, and there will be a downward distribution of wealth for once in the last 60 years.
You're a Jew, a Russian, or a fucktard
>????
wow triggered lol
>so losers can get free money
You're a loser. Why don't you sign up for some? :^)
>And I'd rather give tax breaks to Corp
so they can sit on it
good plan faggot
He asked which part you mongrel if you cant answer simple questions shut your cockholster
Me too but it won't fly because the unwashed masses can't have it sold to them as free money. I'd vote for that user before the yanger.
If you actually earn more, then you don't get UBI OP.
Everyone gets 1000 bucks free money a month. Pot sales will go thru the roof.
How about "social programs that handout free stuff " ? I'd that better.
Seeing as you can't site proof and am now going to pretend to leave. I think I do have my answer. You saying it over and over is not proof, unless you are yang.
I'm not the one shilling yang so I can get free money.
It's not "free" dipshit. It comes out of taxes and other govt revenues. ITS NOT FREE
STOP CALLING IT FREE SHIT YOU FUCKING DENSE FAGGOT FUCK
NOW
Sit on it? Not sure what that means. Not sure you understand how businesses work.
But you meet all of your own criteria.
I'm sure you think Trickle Down Economics actually works, lackey.
I don't get this. What does this even mean?
Money can buy you food, therapy, shelter, substances...
Like you can't go to the Happiness Store and buy a Happy for 25$, but you can sure fill your cupboards and not worry about 'will I be able to eat if I top off this bill payment this month?' or 'if I hit a dental emergency, will that flush all I have or will I have to take a loan/incur debt with someone/something?'
With money, you answer a lot of difficult questions that generally compound things that drag down your happiness; so while it can't exclusively buy happiness, you can sure buy a lot of the sadness and misery off and make it a lot easier for happiness to park.
Fuck you, fuck your queer philosophy. Yang gang 2020. And still, again, fuck you. You're an ignoramus whose parents pay off everything.
>ESL thinks we care about his opinion
Nazette?
All you're doing is proving his point, that being a total whore for money is more valuable than actually enjoying life itself. But you're ok with a Greed President, nobody's going to change your mind.
>ESL
did you frogfags learn a new word this week?
I'm seeing this a lot in threads
I don't play golf so I'm not sure what's happening here. Did Putin suddenly show up?
They're already in san Francisco and statistically safer than human drivers
Stop talking retard
Hubristic bullshit. Self-driving cars is an incredibly stupid idea for a country that elected an idiot Presdient.
Homeless still get UBI so they would never be starving
I thought Yea Forums was still above-average intelligence (I've been gone for a few years). Apparently it's completely devolved into a bunch of ignorant mouth-breathers. Have even one of you morons characterizing Yang's platform as "give everybody $1000 durrr" even LOOKED at his huge, detailed platform? Because you're not even getting the UBI part of it right. A genius runs for President, with actual solutions, justifications, research, and plans to pay for everything. Yea Forums goes "he's a moron". Goes back to dick and tranny posting.
Spicy opinion you got there, I already use autonomous vehicles and soon so will you. Or if you live in trump country it might be your kids who use them. Once they're 99% safe its irresponsible to let humans drive, case and point you're fucking retarded and shouldn't be allowed to operate a motor vehicle
>It assumes people will use the UBI to pay for necessities and/or personal economic advancement.
No it doesn't. The success of UBI depends on stimulating the economy PERIOD which 1000 a month would do statistically.
>But this causes nothing but a temporary uptick.
it's actually a constant supply of consumer purchasing power. You're welcome.
It's all different types of downward wealth distribution, yang is simply the most direct
>Spicy opinion
did you learn a new catchphrase at one of your mom's websites
Not true, there's definitely a point of diminishing returns, and even further out a point of inversion... But 100k a year is typically the ideal amount.
>I already use autonomous vehicles and soon so will you.
They'll still kill a bunch of people. Just to save money so they can't pay real drivers.
Yeah, it's called "hubris." The same mentality that elected a dipshit in the White House in 2016.
We may as well become Europeans and just vote for whoever gives the most free shit, the fuck with freedoms or self sufficiency. Another $12k per year wouldn't change my life that much but it would be more comfortable. So fuck it, yeah, I want him to win. Massive debt to fund my life style can be someone else's problem when I'm dead.
>I want him to win.
There is literally no way this is going to happen in 2020.
Would you really take 1k but lose your guns and free speech you'd just become us but with a shitty probably zionist president
>for whoever gives the most free shit,
you're literally an idiot
>the fuck with freedoms or self sufficiency
someone needs to beat your ass
>but lose your guns and free speech
I'd beat your fucking ass
No shit.
You do realize this is how elections are won, right?
It's where we're heading now anyway. Best you can do is minimize the damage. Since your constitutional rights are slowly being stripped away the most you can hope for is to get some positive from it. $12k will have to do.
It's not "free shit" tardlet, it's paid for out of taxes and other revenues. Fuck you. Every time you use that retarded term someone should print out your post and force you to eat it. Yes, force. Like taxation.
>durr the dumbocrats r takin muh freedoms anyway
you are literally a retard. kys
Feel free to do some reading.
Yes, clearly. The difference being that his tax plan is set to take more from corporations as people are set to have far fewer jobs as automation kicks in (we lose 8 jobs to automation for every 1 we lose overseas). So one wouldn't be getting their 1k per month and then taxed on it as they likely have no other income
The Republicans are trying to take our rights, assmunch. Your solution is to blame "both sides" and then retreat from contributing altogether. I'd literally beat your fucking ass.
It's still not "free shit," tardlet.
Yeah with their big push to end the second amendment and increase taxes. Pretty much the same as the Democrats running on platforms of free healthcare for illegals and banning gun ownership for most.
>I'd literally beat your fucking ass.
I love you internet tough guys
Case closed then. I can't counter that ironclad argument
He called it a "Freedom Dividend". Can I buy stock in America? For this to actually work and not increase debt we'd need a whole new tax system. How does it work in Alaska? Everybody gets paid for the oil in the ground.
>I take it then you think Monopoly is a socialist game? Imagine starting monopoly with no money given to you and no start to collect.
A monopoly game like that would have rules that allow you to seek work on properties and receive compensation.
Leftist "memes" are AIDS. And cancer.
God mode activated. +1. Some how all these idiots think that they know more about economics and the market then actual experts. Yang's plan is damn near bullet proof which is why there is less opposition based on actual facts and numbers and more maga nut huggers trying to use their low IQ to try to oppose it. They like being spoonfed bullshit rather than actually trying to be informed.
Same was said about trump. Look where we are now.
What happens when those corporations pack up and leave for less taxes elsewhere? There is a reason the US is full of wealthy successful businesses and people. You want to treat them as the cause of this, they will leave, it's happened with other countries, it happens now even in the US . Like them or not these mega corps employ millions of tax paying people.
Yang dang sweet poontangs plan posted.
Flaws pointed out.
Yangers ignore the flaws, keep repeating yang mantra.
Yangers don't come up with any proof, can't even prove plan clarifications.
You do realize Amazon pays a VAT overseas? They just aren't paying taxes here where they should. They wouldn't leave the US. That would be stupid even if they were taxed. A UBI is literally the greatest thing that could happen to them. More people have more to buy their goods. Consumerism goes up putting money right back into their pockets.
We already elected the "stable genius" .
Go back to your padded room
Considering they have access in an open market to a very large population of people with disposable income and virtually no taxes now, it stands to reason that they will remain because they always have. The only thing that packs up are the jobs that are, again, going elsewhere even though many corporations already pay literally zero in taxes right now. The market to sell your product is here. The place to make it is overseas where there are no labor laws or environmental regulations. China is only recently a place to sell your wares as opposed to just make it and it's a highly controlled economy and society which makes selling there much more difficult. Companies are here because there is something of value to them: people who will buy. But their manufacturing has left a long time ago.
Basically every other developed nation has a VAT, and Yang's proposed 10% is half of most countries' 20%. So, no.
The plane give you 1000 every thing goes up by a thousand those who work for a living get taxed to death niggers get gibs equal to Hard earned Labor being taxed from you working you live to work niggers live while you work and you can't object because no one will hear you because Chans will be illegal and social media will be censored And you will be to busy competition with Mexicans for jobs that robots are doing Vote Yang 2020 If acceleration is what you want also Jews and your woman fighting you at every turn it will get bloody
You're dumb
+1
You dumb
Because they pay vat in Europa means they can't ever go find somewhere to set up shop that doesn't have vat? They pay it where they have to and will pay it here if we raise a vat, and by them I mean the consumer. You are right, they won't care about the vat. They will care if they get taxed more to pay for the ubi. They are all here because of the business friendly atmosphere . Get off this notion that any company in the us should pay "its' fair share". You eliminate write-offs and they also stop buying as much equipment and expand less. Keep crying about the jet plane write-off. Gee , I wonder what percentage of tax revenue that costs us! Probably not even a blip.
>their big push to end the second amendment
autism
> increase taxes
won't affect you tardlet
>I can't counter that ironclad argument
You were the one making the stupid argument that a system of tax-driven services is "free shit." You shouldn't be allowed to vote until you sign a paper recanting that position forever.
There's no way Yang is going to rise from the ashes of Sanders, Warren and Biden, user. Pls don't be stupid.
>amazon
>paying taxes
pick one
>i have absolutely no argument whatsoever
>what is sarcasm, alex?
Company's are here because we still are business friendly. And all their friends live here. There is a tipping point and they start more and more setting up shop in some tax free island.
Your argument was stupid froglet. It didn't take much to counter it.
When you're not waving flags and screaming that billionaires deserve more tax breaks it better mess easy to understand
more like screaming while jacking off into a flag
Many pay literally no taxes whatsoever right now. Where precisely would they relocate to (at great expense to themselves to uproot their operations) that has less than 0% taxes?
finance.yahoo.com
Still waiting for you to try. I won't hold my breath or I may just end up thinking "froglet" is an actual argument.
Your argument has been addressed one too many times. It isn't "free shit, " froglet.
It is funded by taxes and other revenues.
It's time to ditch this cringing expression, froglet.
You post as if a VAT and a sales tax are different things, or as if you believe you're not taxes in the US in the first place.
Fuck taxation.
Fuck authoritarianism.
>Fuck taxation.
>Fuck authoritarianism.
If companies would pay living wages, we wouldn't have to pass laws requiring them to do it.
Once again, because they pay vat in some countries doesn't mean anything. You switched from raising their taxes to pay ubi and want to switch it to vat tax . They don't care about vat, that is a consumer tax paid for by the consumer. They do care about how much corporate tax they pay. Companies will move headquarters to states with lower taxes to save money. They move to some low tax island all the time. This is what happens. Lower corporate tax and letting them write off business expenses so they are encouraged to expand are part of what keeps them here. Stop blabbering about "they already pay 20% vat tax in ...." . They don't pay it and it isn't part of why they would move .
Whatever country offers them a tax Haven. It happens right now. Company just has to move it's HQ.
No, vat is a sales tax paid for by the consumer. Corporate tax on earnings are paid for by the company. It's the yangers who like to intertwine them to fit their argument.
No it doesn't. US companies by and large stay here because they make a shit ton of money. They find ways not to pay taxes.
