What straw man are you devising in your head where I said any of that? You cant inject money into a system and assume everything is going to stay the same assuming everyone is acting in thier own best interest. From the grocery store down the road to the supplier of the the grocery store to the guy you are buying a used car from or your local weed dealer and your landlord, everyone will want a tiny slice of that 1000 that they know you have or a big slice. That will naturally cause the real price of goods and services to creep up, maybe slowly at first but then it will just be the new normal until it reaches parity with inflation, universal basic income will then need to adjust and keep bumping until the money is worthless. Money is imaginary, it's value as toilet paper is questionable. Yang thinks of money as a fluid thing to invest and profit from and doesn't think in terms of savings, which works out for him because very few people can actually think that way and understand the moves needed to not go broke and grow wealth. Most people don't think that way and they will be destroyed when inflation suddenly jumps practically overnight.

I would (naturally) try to use it as wisely as humanly possible by trying to make it cover all/most of my basic essentials for living(I’m a single male who doesn’t really mind living in shithole apartments or cars or whatever, so this shouldn’t be too difficult.)
Then, I would spend all of my time attempting to start a revolution and overthrow the government. Multiple governments, God willing.

I ask because I'm not entirely convinced that's a actually progressive policy. Obviously, the deficit spending and the increase in the velocity of money that'll come from this massive demand stimulation will impact inflation particularly impacting the cost of consumer goods, but who will feel this? The NEETs and foreign residents that won't receive the UBI.
I wouldn't be surprised if this had a positive impact on the economy in the short term. It could even be a more reasonable way to approach the student debt issue compared to the jubilee some of the tankies are asking for. The proportion of profit on the sale of consumer goods that flows overseas is troubling and this sort of demand stimulation would probably exacerbate that, but this could if that could be mitigated and the fed could keep inflation undercontrol by manipulating interest rates. It's essentially a progressive (i.e. not flat or regressive) tax cut. I don't think it'd be great to make it permanent though. Maybe 4 to 12 years tops. Realistically, the US economy needs real structural changes to succeed long term, but this isn't the worst idea I've heard.
