What's it like to go to a Con?
What's it like to go to a Con?
you'll have a gay old time
why do people even go?
Everyone is super nice. If you cosplay and aren't gross, people will ask to give you hugs. It's like a fantasy world.
Granted, I haven't been to a con in like 5 years, so things may have changed, what with cringe culture being a thing now
cons are cringefests
0,1% hot girls just there to make upskirt lewd instapics
0,01% porn shootings
the rest is fat dudes posing as deadpool or mlp
Dragoncon or ComicCon by chance?
But is it worth it?
Depends.
If you want to cosplay like a fucking loser then you’ll have a boring ass time.
If you want to go and meet your celeb heroes and listen to awesome panels, you’ll have a great time.
Sounds like dragoncon
Great place to meet voice actors & celebrities. Lot's of nice people. Just avoid the spergs, like the bronies, furries, & cosplay thots
stinky
>Plot twist: She's fucking Chad while beta orbiters pay to take photo with her.
ComicCon and AX. So, major cons, yeah. Can't really speak to smaller/more specific ones.
>cons are cringefests
Wow, I guess the people who said Yea Forums was filled with badasses were right
This. I went to con mainly to meet voice actors & celebrities. Got an autograph from the Chris Sabat (the voice actor of Vegeta), & got to talk to some of the actors from Breaking Bad. Good times!
How wierded out are the voice actors when they talk to you?
Also bumping with some cosplay
The panels can be interesting. Some of the Cosplay girls are very pretty. I heard a star of Sailor Moon sing the theme song a capella and it was hauntingly beautiful. All in all worth the time
I never had a weird experience with any of the celebs I talked to. They were very professional. You could even just walk up to them & have a conversation. Video interviews & autographs however will cost you.
Met Sean schemmel, such a cool guy. Still need to meet sabat tho
Is it worth the money? Some friends at work are inviting me to go but I'm not as into it as them.
Which con are you going to
I want to cum inside rainbow blob
dragoncon, they had someone drop out.
Every convention is different. The larger ones all have hygiene issues (srsly U feckin neckbeards just shower & wash your hands every day or two) but that’s going to be a problem in most crowded places. Way less of an issue in winter/fall cons but it’s still somewhere.
ComicCon and all the PAX ones are just fucking crowds. Not something I’m interested in so I’ve not gone to those.
I love video games and music so I like to hit up MAGFest (not Labs or West) each year. That one is disorganized as hell (getting much better tho) but also my favorite overall. It’s basically a nonstop party from a Thursday until Sunday afternoon. Con center is also a hotel and doesn’t close down at night. There’s a free-play arcade, raves, concerts, console & LAN areas, tabletop gaming, hallway parties, elevator parties, panels from midnight to 11:30pm, indie showcase section, etc. Only the indie area, concerts, and most merch booths aren’t open 24h. Roughly 20,000 people attend on peak days (Sat & Sun).
In the UK they are shit. If you want to buy a bunch of plastic crap then it's alright. You're basically paying to get into a market.
For gencon the cosplayers don't even have to pay. Just hang out in the non-event/exhibit area for free. Most probably pay, but if you are local you can go free.
Some decent costumes and slutty whores, but you need to be a bit patient. Its 90% fat smelly men over 30.
Cons are basically a way for you to pay to get advertised at. Ones like comic con san diego are shameless, but the others often have some tertiary value to attending.
Depends on the Con tbh. I've been to wargaming and scale modelling cons and it's what you expect. Middle aged men, fat women, fathers and sons and a few qt's all enjoying little plastic soldiers.
That being said you meet some figures in the community, stockists and creators and have good chat as well as build networks. Then there's sales during the cons which can be a right steal
