I'll keep it short. I met up with this girl that seemed to be pretty eager to meet me. Conversation is going fine, then somehow one of those golden rules of dates gets broken. I don't even remember which one of us brought it up, but I do end up saying that I am a libertarian. I had a pretty good idea that she is very leftist. I truly believe I was being civil and even was talking about which candidate has the best chance to take down Trump, whom I know she despises.
None of this matters, her tone changes and now it seems like I have a red dot on my head. She says she doesn't understand why libertarians can't just be democrats. I tell her I have a degree in economics and that some of these issues aren't as clear and simple as she might make them out to be.
I still thought perhaps the night could still be salvaged, but no sir. Icing on the cake is we both understand the night is over, and I go to at least give her a hug goodbye and she puts her hands up making pushing away gestures lol

The unfortunate reality is that there are many people out there (on both sides of the aisle) who choose the blue pill and simply don't want to consider anyone else's opinion but their own. They surround themselves with news, entertainment and friends that agree with their own assumptions about the world around them, and will resist any attempts to get them to think critically about these assumptions. Sometimes these people will go so far as to cut off communication with their own family members!
These people believe they are open-minded, but are in reality only open to views that agree with their own. Challenging their assumptions is labeled "offensive" and "hateful" in an attempt to de-legitimize opposing viewpoints. They will relentlessly resist new ideas, unknowingly even against their own best interests in order to "believe whatever they want to believe", fighting to preserving the comfort zone of familiarity that they have surrounded themselves with.
Technically, she's not his woman, so the right thing to do is inform her father/brothers to do the beating.

What I love about being a Libertarian (I'm not OP) is that both sides hate us for being correct - morally, practically, economically, socially, etc. I've even had Libertarian friends leave (mostly right) because of the open border disagreement. I'm all for open borders and free association provided I'm not paying for their food, housing, medical care, etc. It's not rocket science to understand and appreciate the intelligence behind the policies.
The fact that her brothers/father allowed their woman outside without proper covering and an escort is proof enough that they are unable to handle their own women and therefore, OP should've acted like the man he clearly isn't and administered the correct form of punishment, inshallah may OP burn in the darkest corners of Jahannam for his cowardice.
