Uh guys

Uh guys...

If time is eternal, doesn't that mean every possible outcome of every possible scenario will eventually play out???

no shit fag

Presumably, yes
But we will never know

Time is a human concept made up in our minds

no mate you know situations change and there wont be every possible medieval themed scenario for example until the heat death of the universe

You're thinking about sting theory

if enthrophy didnt exist, yeah definiately

but every scenario with every indifferent people..yeah that takes a lot of time, we dont have

You are so fucking gay and you don't even know it

No, time may be eternal, but circumstances in the universe are not. There isn't a countdown on when the entire universe will end, but there is a countdown on when our solar system will. It sounds like you've confused a bit of the multiverse theory

You must have problems to instantly think that

But here's the thing: if time is forever, eventually you'll live the exact same life except for one minor or major detail might be off (compared to the life you live now.) With this concept, life is eternal.

The sun could give us one good blast tomorrow and the earth's atmosphere could instantly disintegrate. It's almost like asking if a tree falling in the woods makes a sound if no one is there to hear it

The only thing that will outlast the collapse of our solar system & universe is time. Eventually our same universe will be made again although it will take another gajillion years or more.

>time is eternal
Time is eternal , but the overwhelmingly vast majority - like as near to infinity as makes no difference - will be spent during the final heat death of the universe - where literally nothing CAN happen.
So, no/kind of/maybe

Yes.

You all missed the "every possible scenario" part. It's not every scenario. It's every possible scenario.

No we won't. Someone else with our likeness will.

lol'd

there is no such thing as a different outcome everything is predetermined and only one thing will happen forever

And what's that?

time really is eternal, but energy is not when it runs out nothing will happen for eternity.

so in a way time is limited for actions(scenarios)

but unlimited for well nothing happening really

and for the universe to recreate itself perhaps infinite times requires an infinite source of energy, which doesnt exist nor ever will

>eventually you'll live the exact same life except for one minor or major detail might be off
Nope.
The chances of that happening are so astronomically small, that it would never happen in the entire life one of this universe .
It would require a re-rolled character in a different universe; which we would not be able to measure of perceive , as it is outside of our universe - so functionally - NOPE

Energy can not dissipate. It only turns into something else

every possible outcome of a scenario happens as you speak, guy in africa rapes his daughter and gets away with it. Guy in USA rapes his sister and gets away with it. Guy in Europe rapes his daughter/sister, gets permajailed. The scenarios play out all over the world at the same time as there are 7 billions of us at the same time, with constant deaths and lives created. But why would you care? your life is not infinite, your resources are not infinite, your president's retardation is infinite tho.

no retard it does turn into something else but always loses a percentage of it

eventually those losses add up and there you go

>law of conservation of energy
The theory is all energy become heat, and space has expanded to such a point that the heat is dispersed so widely and uniformly that no atomic/quantum interactions can happen - leading to complete stillness throughout the entire universe. A dark, dead, motionless universe where nothing will ever happen again.
And it’s the most likely scenario.

I don't know, but sometimes I think about the string theory thing. The other night I was legit choking on a piece of chicken and couldn't breathe. Once I coughed that shit up I thought "In another universe I just choked to death."

i think he meant every possible scenario played with every possible atoms at the same time

so like every possible scenario between you and me that ever existed

It's only "lost" because you're thinking of narrow, closed systems, the energy simply dispersed.

thats multiverse theory

a completely different thing

op meant that in this universe but it cant happen cause enhropy

interesting

ill study this
thanks

Honestly I just wanted to post that I almost fucking died choking on shitty Chinese chicken. I was relieved when I didn't pass out.

hahah

Multiverse theory is inherently tied to string theory, or M theory.
It’s very complicated, but it’s to do with the expansion of space/time nano-seconds after the Big Bang

that's why i don't eat chinese food

yeah take care mate
its good you didnt die

and for the multiverse theory: it is the answer for op's question

*chokes on spaghetti*

No, you won't get the sex. Get over it.

Thing is with multiverse theory though.
They are different universes - it “this universe”, so no; having infinite time is irrelevant to the same event happening exactly the same twice.
Infinite space/multiverses though?
Sure, why not. It can never be proven; so Newton’s Flaming Laser Sword

No

>it will take another gajillion years or more
those different scenarios could be playing out in parallel universes
can't believe nobody mentioned those yet

>time is eternal
Congratulations, you just used the concept of time to contain time.

On a related note, there are different levels of infinity. "Eternal" may mean "infinite" but that does that equal "every possible configuration". There are an infinite number of positive integers, what we call countably infinite. There are also an infinite number of decimals between 1.0 and 2.0, which we call uncountably infinite. Infinity does not mean everything.

That also assumes that, if time were eternal, that it would be non-repeating, which you have no proof for.

No, for the same reason that if there were infinite parallel universes that doesn't mean there's a universe in which everything happens.

Think of it this way, there are an infinite amount of values between 2 and 3. (2.1,2.11,2.111 etc.)

However, none of those infinite values is 4

As a matter of fact, those different scenarios could be playing out in this universe. Slightly denser OP could not be a faggot in a galaxy made of slightly more dense matter.

But, you'll never have this exact same Earth experience all of the probable outcomes it could've had, just the ones that it will have.

You also missed the part where it said "every possible scenario". Every possible scenario is every value between 2 and 3.

>Infinity does not mean everything
Infinity implies the everything of a specific thing. Infinity does not encompass all of every of the things.

Does nitpicking my phrasing give you pleasure? If I don't qualify "everything", then I mean "EVERYthing". You know exactly what I meant, so keep your mouth shut unless you have something to contribute.

>Does nitpicking my phrasing give you pleasure
It's correcting what wasn't correct. If you don't qualify, then you explicitly haven't qualified. You end up saying something that ultimately doesn't explain what infinity is.

Taken literally, infinity does not mean everything. But with context, you're trying to say something you simply hadn't. So I made that apparent. Because, to imply that infinity has nothing to do with everything, at all, would be incorrect. I knew exactly what you meant.

And I said as much.
>keep your mouth shut
My mouth isn't typing.
>unless you have something to contribute
I've contributed.

Why are you upset?

No if time is eternal then circumstances will keep changing leading to different scenarios. Unless the universe is on constant repeat of the same scenarios
