You're thinking too hard about "beating" it. If you revolve part of your life around a goal like this, it will only serve to feed its existence. It comes from a general feeling of dread and uncertainty. I'd say "put it off" and take care of immediate problems and progressively take care of more long term things, because it makes it easier to focus on them one at a time. But each progressively larger problem needs a stable foundation, that is, reliable action coming from you, which comes from not having small issues constantly bugging you. Learning to let unhelpful things go and prioritizing to focus on what is important helps with this.
Most imporantly, dive into life head first, not a cliff, thinking the whole time but accepting that things will not be perfect and will have to be fixed on the fly or moved on to something else. Take.it in stride, or you'll keep stumbling chasing something that wasn't worth it in the longrun. It's kind of like the idea of a stand-collecting AI that takes over the world for that single goal of collecting stamps. Don't be that robot.
