Except it's not wildfires, these fires are being intentionally set by farmers/cattle ranchers so they can use the land to make money.

Also, rainforests don't go through the same forest fire cycles that coniferous forests in North America do. Pine trees have evolved so that their seeds (pinecones) are hardened and even activated by fire, the trees in the rainforest haven't evolved this way.

Well, many rainforests have a high biodiversity, with many sub-species living in their own territories, not throughout the entire rainforest. So when their territory gets roasted, they're gone and only more populous, widespread species will re-inhabit the area.

It would probably take a few centuries for new subspecies to arise.
