90% sure it's a Cottonmouth.
It ain't a cornsnek, they're more red.

Just judging by its size o assume it to be juvenile which makes it harder to id. But the markings were pretty vivid, cottonmouth is pretty washed out

And its head seemed more streamline, not triangular

It does look a bit like copperhead

Except copperheads have triangular heads as well, the most striking part is the gold edging on the black splothches

Might be that brown water snake, the markings are spot on. Maybe juvenilea dont have such a pronounced angular head?

Cottonmouths vary widely, cuz they have live snekies. I've seen some in VA like your pic.
