I just love how everyone recognizes the truth that his first movies were actually the best and he's just going downhill more or less with every next movie.

I actually liked his first movies. I get the refferences and symbolism of most of his work like recreating scenes from other movies, or tackling certain motives to "remake them the right way" or do a homage, but ultimately he just crafted a couple of frankensteins that are followed because his first movies got him some renown. Inglorious Basterds were immature. Django was just a low grade western comedy with extra gore.

His style is fucking cheesy. At Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction everyone bought that cheesy style, because they were not sure if it's spaghetti autismo or class. It looked like class due to suits and gangster themes, but rest of his work wasn't so lucky.

I feel like with every movie Tarantino dwelves into this spiral of self indulgence and deepens the irony to the level people just can't keep up with his autism. It's not relatable anymore, it's just a remake of couple of ideas grabbed from other movies that show you one can do something the other way, but it's pointless.

I'd have a hard time understanding why Deathproof would not be the worst on every list. Even the stupid acting in Django had a few moments. DP was shit from open to credits.

The first 90% of it is a pretty solid story. Criminals grab up a family so they can use them to sneak into Mexico, promises them a cut of the profits from the gambit they're pulling while also demonstrating very clearly that they're assholes and criminals and also a little unhinged. As they travel together you both see and maybe experience a little bit of Stockholm Syndrome.

The last 10% though. What the fuck happened? It's like someone lost the last 20 minutes of the script and they said "Fuck it, this is a zombie movie now. WAIT NO! Vampires! We'll do it with vampires! And it'll be super gorey and bloody! And we'll give them balloons and super soakers full of holy water!"
