I have an Iphone xs i bought it cuz it was buy one get one half of!
i got a huawei mate 10 pro, shits amazing thats why
Iphone 8+
Bought it because camera
Also i cant stand samsung
is it really that good ?
Iphone. They last for at least 6 years, with major os updates and full support, and thats everything that counts to me.
Xiaomi MI 2 Lite. costs around 200 bucks. Went to this from an iphone 6, and its so much better in every way, besides maybe some certain software things, but thats just small details.
Would recommend to anyone who is a working person like myself. Cheap, reliable, battertime is retarded high at 4000 mAh.
Its pretty fucking good, never lags or anything.
Decent camera ( i only use it for work anyway) etc etc... Dual sim card, also input for SD card. Got a 16 gb sd card in mine and it comes with 32 gigabytes of storage from the start anyway.
and 3 gb ram.
Not to mention the fingerprint reader that is amazing. Works every time, and is very natural at the back of the phone.
Best phone ive bought. Way better than all the "apples" imo. But thats just because of the price difference. Not that apple does anything new nowadays anyway.
Oneplus 6. Reasonably priced, fast, good software, above average camera, good developer support.
Iphone 6 cause i already have all my music on icloud
are you blue collar ?
I disagree, my iphone 6 had shit batterytime. And with apples constant updates, they even actually themselves claim they are only supposed to be used for 3 years.. So where the 6 years comes from I have no idea ...
I guess if you dont update them (which i didnt) they last a tad bit longer.
Apples are to be done away with. Switch over to android and save a few bucks instead. Also girls dont care what phone you have.
Pixel 3xl
Hardware is nice. Camera is insane. I'm more of a Motorola guy normally but they need to figure shit out with their mods and 5g Odin
Galaxy s10 plus cuz I like the screen size and beveled sides.
Im a programmer, I just dont give a shit about phones mostly. I dont play games on them. I use google drive and youtube pretty much. And snapchat ofc.
iPhone Xs. I'm on the new every year plan.
Nokia 3310
I have an iPhone XS after always having Android. Talked into it by my ex. Biggest piece of shit phone I’ve ever had. Drops calls, dozens of crashes per day, it the IOS is glitchy af. Stay away
The cheapest available pay-as-you-go stupidphone, because I own it and use it for my convenience and am not owned by it
>Pixel 3xl
>
>Hardware is nice. Camera is insane.
Pixel 3 here, same
Android Master Race
There is an Android phone, it's with android OS
Galaxy S3 mini from 2011. It browses forums and plays music. I refuse to upgrade and I don't know why.
oneplus 7 pro
cus its a waste of time and money to buy a new phone when there isnt even new features to expect from it... I understand you.
"Hey everyone, look how non conformist i am. take that society. am i cool now?"
>So where the 6 years comes from I have no idea ...
The first two generations had only 3 year support. Starting from the IPhone 4s they all have at least 5 years of software support. I was wrong about the 6 years, its actually 5. But, I currently have an 6s since it came out, never wanted to change, works perfectly fine. The battery lasts (with my little usage) for a day, which is enough, and if not, I nearly always have a laptop with me so i can easiely charge it
>Switch over to android and save a few bucks instead
Buying a 400€ phone every two years is still more expensive than buying an 800€ phone every 5 years, so I stick to my iphone. Also im having some android devices (as a developer you can't ignore that system) and honestly it sucks. Just a few days ago It got stuck in a bootloop (i guess faulty update or so), which never happend to my iphone
android recommendations ?
huawei p10, although it has its braindead moments, as having no official theme, or pushing a bit of bloatware down your throat, like swiftkey keyboard, its otherwise a very good phone. my brother has a huawei p20, and the pics he gets with that almost rivals my D300
My nigga
It’s a sexy phone
Pixel 3a XL. Couldn't be happier. Price was great at $479 and the camera is as good as they say. The night sight mode is black magic. Pic related.
Lumia 950
Because Android is like using Windows 95 and IOS is like using a $10,000 bowling pin.
Is that a dude?
By far the best system I tested was Plasma Mobile (Or any other True GNU/Linux system), but sadly as it's early alpha, it's only usable if you have a second device from which you can controll it via ssh (the UI is completely buggy)
I had an iphone 6s and switched over to Chinkhone Xiaomi Mi2 lite. Cost 200 bucks and ive had it for a year or so now, dont plan on updating for another few years.
The main reason to why, is because of the batterytime on my iphone 6s. Idk maybe its me but my iphone wouldnt last a day of usage. My xiaomi on the other hand lasts 2-3 days when im using it every day.
Im also a dev but im not that into andriod development. Never had any issues with my chinkphone but I guess it can happen. The older android phones were shit and super laggy. But they have caught up with Android One and all of that imo.
With that said, IOS is sweet in terms of usage on the actual phone, but not when you want to connect it to your PC and all of that. Also apple wants you to constantly update your phone and they claim their "battery saving features" are included for our sake, but its just to slow down the phone.
Hence why I didnt update my Iphone 6S ever. Still use it as my alarm clock in the morning though.
Galaxy 7 because it works and it's not an iphone which is really rated now to the x. Plus terabyte storage msd.
No it's my wife in an almost completely dark room.
eh, android is based off of linux and mostly is linux. Usability and efficiency is a balance game imo, and currently Android One is my favourite OS for phones.
Whatever that makes phone calls and runs Duolingo
moto droid turbo- rooted and rommed. going on 6yrs and just won't die. tell me one thing your $1200 iphone can do that my 200 can't!
inb4 'camera' - cuz nothing you can cover with your pinkie is a real camera
Yeah, I use my phone very little (basically only browsing, videos when im in my bed, playing some solitaire and using it as calendar and alarm), so battery live was never a problem to me. And all I want is that my phone works, if it breaks im compeletely screwed, so I've always sticked to IPhone because it never disappointed me
OnePlus 6T, bought brand new. Had an XR, but hated jailbreaking those fuckers. 6T rooted on latest Public Beta, shits amazing.
Also got iMessage on android with "Airdrop" from the appstore, and im working on getting "opendrop" to function, so I can use airdrop with my iOS peers. I wish this fucker had a MicroSD, though, so if anyone has phone reccomendations that do...
Still got a Galaxy S5 which is more or less on life support.
I guarantee that if I go out a buy a new fucking battery the phone will take a complete shit a week later.
iPhone XS, upgrade every 2 years, have a stockpile of older iPhones because I never end up selling them. Had Samsung for work and literally left it in the glove box, total piece of shit clunky phone.
Install a custom ROM!
except iMessage isn’t open source at all, apple has that shit locked down
I currently have a Pocophone F1 by those Xiaomi guys. Bought it at $200. Basically I got it for all the things that it offers, the 4000mAh 128gb of memory the processor Snapdragon 845.
After two months of use I'm more than happy with the phone 9/10 would recommend it to friends uwu
This. And a few others I switch between, but this phones display refresh rate is dope. System is unstoppable smooth. Gestures are a great idea. Camera is good, but definitely not Pixel 3 good, or even iPhone good.
Huawei P30 Pro
Better camera than the pixel plus 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. I like it except I wish it ran stock Android. I use Nova launcher to simulate stock android
oh you sweet summer child.. you actually think something needs to be open source to be broken open and used on other platforms?
roflmao
Google a bit.
That won't help that this is the original battery from 2014. Needs a new battery but my luck guarantees I'll dump $50 on a battery only to have something else completely go to shit.
Iphone 7+ here, used to be samsung but recently started working for apple so got my self one on the cheap. I like android but its nice because all my friends have iphones. dat ecosystem really gets ya.
Thats why I wrote GNU/Linux. Starting the Linux Kernel to run a JVM (or DEX or how it is called nowadays) is not a real Linux.
I want to have netcat, matasploit, ssh, etc. all easiely managed through a package manager. I want to write simple Python or bash scripts, compile simple programs usign gcc and debug it via gdb all on the target system.
And the best thing, no propriatary protocols needed, you plug your plasma mobile into your PC and it opens a local network with it. With IPTables is network tethering just 4 commands, and by far the best thing, I can transfer QT5 C++ sources over to it, compile them and it works (well execpt for the things that aren't usable with touch screen), which is so much better than anything google or apple have brought forward to develop for phones (Android dev is completely aids)
Moto z3...because only paid 250 for it.
You’re fuckin delusional if you think you’re using iMessage on anything non-Apple.
Protip: using a forwarding app is not iMessage. It’s fun to pretend though isn’t it?
This.
The fundamental issue with all the new phones is that you can't change the battery without melting the phone open. The phone I have now has a removable battery and it's 4 years old. I get a new battery every 18 months or so and it's like new.
Batteries don't last. They're chemical. There's no way they can make a battery last for 5 years. It's not possible.
Pixel 2XL. Liked the features and the assistant better than Apple's. Plus I refuse to use Samsung
Honor 10, cheap and good
Bought before Huawei ban
let me guess, weMessage? Have to be on the same WAN, leave your terminal open. Not iMessage lmao
Samefag as Just one example which gave me headaches. All i wanted to do was to have a simple function which peridically scans for networks, saves the findings together with the geo position locally and when connection is available syncs them with a mysql database hosten on my server.
This is about 5-10 lines of bash script on a GNU/Linux. Try doing that on an Android as easiely
Does it have 4G? Want to buy one.
Apple isn't as secure as they like you to believe.
People can still force apple software to run on non-apple hardware. That is changing though as apple goes out of its way to tie is OSs to bots of proprietary hardware to kill the hackintosh and ayephone
I have an iPhone XS Max, I bought it because I own a MacBook Pro and love the ecosystem Apple provides. I'm a freelance photographer and do a ton of editing so being able to very easily and very quickly transfer images from my laptop to my phone with no loss in quality whatsoever is a big plus. On top of that the build quality on the phone is tremendous, I know it'll have a ton of software support for years, and it'll last me for the next three years just like every other iPhone I've owned has.
Does anyone here use Symbian based old phones? Using Nokia E51 as backup phone.
Your info is definitely being sold to/by the chinese government but honestly who cares its good hardware
I highly doubt you're going to run an Apple app on a device that has neither the OS, nor the hardware that the app came from. You can't even visualize MacOS for Intel on Intel hardware. What makes you think that you're going to run a single app inside a different OS on a CPU/GPU that is not even executing the same code?
m.youtube.com
Flip phone. It’s all I need.
iPhone 7, about to get a hand-me-down iPhone X. Waiting for 2020 iPhones to upgrade for real.
I've had blackberry, iphone, androids of all kinds, etc. It really doesn't matter at the end of the day. Whatever you prefer. I like iPhone because it's simple, no clutter or BS on the operating system install, "just works" as corny as that phrase is. I basically just use my phone these days for phone calls, text, messaging, light gaming, and web browsing.
Although phones (especially iPhone) are becoming stupid expensive. A phone should not cost 1200-1500 when I can build a pretty fuckin nice gaming computer for that.
Homosexual detected.
>So where the 6 years comes from I have no idea
It works like this
You have a phone and use it for a year
Then 5 more go by
no offence bud, but any hardware is selling info to all and any goverment, especially the american one.
People think that this is unique of china but america has been in the game way longer and does this regularly. Especially with the help of google.
>There's no way they can make a battery last for 5 years. It's not possible.
Did you miss that my battery is still functional at 5 years old. It can usually manage a normal day on standby and very light use. Anything else though... (just typing this post out has seen my batter go from 84% to 76%
Non-removable batteries are a fucking joke. Thanks apple.
>People can still force apple software to run on non-apple hardware.
Yeah, but running iMessage (and i mean really the iMessage app, not a clone that implements their protocol) requires the Cocoa Bindings.
There where once efforts to port Cocoa to Windows, which wasn't usable at all. So I highly doubt someone commited even more work to run it on Android
>implying Samsung and apple aren't selling data as well
I bet you're probably made of soy. kys, homofag
used iphone 7 cus idgaf
Oh that messaging service that even the FBI couldnt break into and tried to strong arm apple into decrypting for them? You dumb fuck
I'm sure it could be 'functional' but it's not the same.
Like you said, if you do anything with it then it drains like crazy. That's exactly what my phone does after I use it for like 18 months or so. The battery life becomes shit, if you open up a web browser and look something up for 15 mins it's 25% of the battery or if you get down to like 20% it gets super slow cause it's trying to manage power and not getting the right voltage.
Buy a new battery for $25, pop the back off, stick it in, brand new phone. They don't want people doing this shit. No one would ever replace their $1500 phones. That's why apple is going to start serial numbering the batteries to the phone so you can't even cook them open and change them. Faggots.
>>Hardware hacking
>>Cryptographic hacking
You know these are two completely different things right?
Try the night mode if you have not yet. It still amazes me every time.
Not always.
It's out there
Hobby shit often. Bored basement dwellers who actually are haxxors who do this sort of thing for fun.
Doesn't really have a purpose because obviously just bulging ao app from the ground up to fool the protocol is probably easier and will beore stable in the end
They sell it to the highest bidder, thats capitalism, thats good.
Huawei sells the data to the government, thats communism, thats bad
>FBI
>implying they even tried.
>room full of agents watching porn hub
Yeah but in the current discussion it is
These are immitations. It's not iMessage, it's an app that looks and behaves like iMessage. I can build something like this within a few months, but that doesn't make it iMessage, it's still just an immitation.
I make phone calls and i receive phone calls.
The end.
Greed is eternal.
People were upgrading to bleeding edge even with a perfect phone and battery already, I guess jut not everyone was.
This is why I fucking hate apple and apple fanboys so much. Apple is the one pulling this shit and normalizing it while the fanboys make every excuse in the world.
Apple wasn't happy just building the battery into the device, the hadn't switch to soldering them in because it still wasn't non-serviceable enough (imagine buying a $4000 laptop and the battery is glued into the case and soldered in)
>Using your phone for telephony
It's 2019 dude, thats not what phones are for
>highest bidder,
>DHD / DOD / NSA / FBI / CIA
Kek
LG G5
One of the last few Phones with swappable batteries and it holds up nicely.
Do you really think these agencies pay for your data?
The fucking NSA knew about differential and linear cryptoanalysis 30 years before anyone else found out about it. They can get your data, if you want it or not
Android LG
Last two phones were LG. Parents bought me the first lg as a graduation gift. After that I've just been buying LGs and using them until they're completely obsolete and have no battery life.
That's the point. Governments don't bid, they take.
I'm sure abvertisers are bid war central though.
(Also fuck it. Even your fucking smart TV is collecting your data to be sold )
Found the cuck.
Motorola Moto G6 because it's a damn good budget phone that fits my needs.
Just a shill
A legitimate shill too.
I wonder what apple pays their shillsz or where they find them.
iPhones fags are as bad as nigs. Easy choice Sony Xperia 1. Shitty no headphone port but apples been saying that dumb shit is a feature for generations. Great speakers, long big ass display. Perfect choice
Razer 1, 120 refresh rate is so smooth
Thats why I don't have a smart TV but only a firetv stick, coz you can surely trust amazon
Sony nixed the headphone jack too?
>fucking apple was the first to do it
what do you retarded kids do on your phones every fucking second? Genx here, but have been in tech since I was 15. I manage a medium sized company's tech department.
But 4th of july, tons of kids at the local fireworks show. The majority of them were glued to their phones while the fireworks were going off. Same as the vacation I took earlier this year. Amazing ocean views, but you retards were glued to your phones the entire time. What in the hell are you doing that prevents you from enjoying the world around you?
Never understimate product love hipsters have to their apple products. They could sell them the iShit and they would still argue how much better it is than regular shit, and that it's defenetly worth the 1kilodollars
No need for apple to pay anyone
Watching the world through a touchscreen?
Got shit to do nigger
Because everything about social media is designed to be addictive. It's like giving away free heroine and wondering why everyone becomes addicted
Yeah you have to use an adapter for a usb c type port. It only works with Sony headphones too. I tried a pair of old afterglow and a razer headset and only the gay ass earphones that came with it and some new Sony headphones worked. Pissed me off a bit but you can work around this.
The honest truth? Talking to their friends. There's only so many posts on instagram, facebook (which has all but been abandoned by anyone who isn't a loser or a fat fuck), and snapchat that one can view at any given time. But group chats are very popular and almost always active, and young people have lots of friends, which means lots of conversations.
That's my experience at least, and I'm a fairly sociable 20 year old.
But they do
There are legit apple shills payed by Apple to promote and defend apple on social media.
If you hop on a review site you can be assured that a significant percentage of positive reviews are paid for, a majority who are fanboys, and the rest who will mostly just agree apple stuff is usually okay and not actually tjis huge step up from anything
>Shitty no headphone port but apples been saying that dumb shit is a feature for generations
Oh no, they remove outdated technology for something better. How can they.
No really, analog outputs where good in the 90's when the digital datarate was low AF. Today there is no reason to have a phone jack except its standard everywhere. They break more easily than an USB port, they can't transmit control data, and they are much bigger.
One have to make the first step, otherwise it's like windows and you have to have backwards compatibility for decades, which slows down technological advancements
>can only use SONY™ brand ear buds in your SONY™ phone
That sounds horrifically apple-like
Fucking hell.
Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact
>remove outdated technology for something better. How can they.
But they didn't
Bluetooth coexisted with headphone jack for many a year. Its nice being able to take my BT headphones on the go but can still swap to my HIGH QUALITY AUDIOPHILE HEADPHONES when I'm at home.
BT earbods that csn even come close to the sound quality will cost more than a brand new iphone.
Fuck apple
>analog outputs where good in the 90's
Sound is still analogue. Every headphone or ear bud out there is and will always be an analogue device (they can be digital too on the input but the output can only ever be analogue)
Xiaomi Mi Max 2
I had an iPhone - didn't like how restricted I felt, couldn't do half the things an android could without it being jailbroken, so went back to android, and this phone is astounding.
It's cheap, huge screen, huge battery, good specs and SD CARD.
You have to be quite the cuck to actually pay as much as you do for an iPhone or higher samsung models when there's cheaper and better out there.
(Only downside is that the camera isn't amazing. Not bad, but not amazing)
>BT earbods that csn even come close to the sound quality will cost more than a brand new iphone.
No shit sherlock. Bluetooth has quite a low data rate (i think at most you can get 192 kbit per second). I talked about the alternative via USB. That cable is better than no cable isn't suprising. But you can also get digital headphones with a cable, and they don't have a worse quality than audio jack, mostly even better, because at least my audiojack breaks quite a lot, and if i move the cable just a little bit I loose sound on one ear.
A digital USB 3.1 or Lightning (like apple uses it) is strictly better than the audio jack, because, while technically the audiojack can give infinite data rate, the underlying phone can at most 320 kbit per second, meaning the 5 gbit per second of usb are more than enough. So you don't loose quality, but have a more reliable hardware with more possibilities
Hate to break it to you but that already exists.
Just had a guy bring in a Surface Pro. Only thing wrong with it was a bad battery. Other than that it was perfect. You can't change the battery without cooking it and removing the screen (which 99% of the time breaks the screen). So, it's a paperweight unless you buy a new screen, a new battery, and labor.
The phones and Apple laptops are even worse because they solder the hard drives in so your data is lost forever in this scenario as well. People need to just stop purchasing this shit. It is not a step forward, it is a step backwards in technology.
She looks like a dude from the back
Yeah sure, but the question is the point of conversion. If you convert the digital data (your sound always is digital on your phone) before transmitting it to the headphones, you loose the ability to transmit meta information. Back in the 90's digital ports couldn't keep up with the data rate, now USB3 can easily give the throughput to stream the music without loss of quality, and is in everything else strictly better.
Just got a Blu vivo xl4. Upgraded from a galaxy S5. I like it. It runs everything that I need it to run. No lag. Nice big battery and screen. I was worried I would notice the notch but it's nice that I can turn it off with just a swipe for certain things. Got it for 100 bucks and I'm very pleased.
I know about the surface
Apple was first with the glued in batteries. Microsoft actually took it a few steps further though. Surface is a joke
>Other than that it was perfect.
Except for the fact that to use it fully you need to run Windows on it, which is a dealbreaker.
Apple at least has a good OS.
The problem is that USB is digital and audio is analog. They didn't replace it with an analog output so they expensive DAC in your phone needs to be replaces with another super expensive DAC outside of your phone with a NEW USB-C connector or some kind of ultra high speed internet connection (like ethernet cabling or AC1200 WiFi) to stream high quality audio.
A fucking headphone jack was perfectly fine to play a very high quality analog signal to a good receiver using the DAC in your phone. Now you have to replace the headphone jack with $2k in other shit so you can use your phone in the bathtub?
Digital headphones require their own built-in DAC
Guarantee you it's a shit DAC unless you dump a fortune on high end
Samsung Galaxy S10E, perfect price point for features and size.
was samsung till thos cock gobblers started chargin 1k for a phone they gunna make opsolete in a few years
Note 9
1. Awesome screen.
I know other pho es released after this also ha e good screens but after holding them, just doesn't look/feel the same.
2. Stylus (no brainer, this IS the usp of this phone)
I tend to forget a lot of things while I am working, and typing on a small screen is just tedious, and I end up not doing it. Stylus works best. Also works in mind mapping situations...
3. DeX
This is pretty awesome as well Just a cheap 20 something dollar TypeC to HDMI and I have a full desktop experience (android desktop is shit but keep reading...). But I have a full linux installed so that works in times I need my desktop. More on this further down...
4. 1 TB Storage
It's like having a portable HDD with you that's always connected to OTG, its awesome. Also It allows me install multiple distros of linux which I can use on screen or in DeX mode.
I also have enough storage for 4k video recording etc etc, nuff said
5. Knox secure space.
Though I have seen similar implementations on on other recent phones, Knox just seems much more polished and mature. Though I cant say for sure as again I haven't had much experience with other phones ...
SONY™ has always done this shit. That's why they make bleeding edge shit that is awesome but never takes off. Make a list. Betamax, minidisc, S-Link, Bluray (being the exception), etc etc etc. I've said for years that Sony and Apple should just hold hands and run off into the forest together.
iPhone
Better software, more secure.
>Apple at least has a good OS
topkek
Motorola Z3 Play
>The problem is that USB is digital and audio is analog
Sound is analog. The MP3's you play on your phone are digital.
So whats your problem if the DAC is in your phone or in your headphones? It has to be there no matter what. You just have more possibilities if you convert it at the headphones, because this way you can also send additional infos for these phones.
Sure now the headphones can't be dumb anymore (like they where with audiojack) but an adequate microcotnroller which is capable of doing the conversion costs around 1-2 cents per piece. Im sorry, but paying 1 cent more for my headphones doesn't seem like such a big stretch
exactly its 2019, install snapchat and instagram like a true faggot.
>Guarantee you it's a shit DAC unless you dump a fortune on high end
How much do you think of the whole production value of you phone goes into a DAC? We are talking about cents. If you put it into your phone or your headphones why does it matter?
y u jelly?
This whole post is retarded.
1) You can't even fit a decent DAC inside earbuds.
2) I don't use headphones. What if I want to plug my shit into a receiver or some set of speakers? Now that has to have a DAC. So the dongle coming out of the phone has a DAC? How big is that? I need another box everywhere I go that is a decent DAC? Why when there is already a decent DAC or at least a very high end CPU in the $1,000 device I have in my hand.
3) You don't know what the fuck you're talking about and clearly only listen to radio quality music from your Dr. Dre Beats headphones.
The idea is that this shit can coexist. You're just defending apple.because you're a cuck. I bet you didn't even have lint issues in your jacks before and you probably get your music via youtube streaming.
Some of us care about sound and want to load a bunch of FLAC on a phone with a high end DAC and a set of studio headphones and that same phone still had USB and Bluetooth to go that option as well.
androidauthority.com
Note 9 is a beast. I myself upgraded last year from a iPhone 7 Plus to a Note 9 and im never going back.
Kek.
FYI, I am this guy...
No one's jelly of your overpriced piece of shit.
Galaxy note 9 cause its pretty fucking dope
90% of mobile phones have USB-C and NOT USB 3.0. Look it the fuck up.
All they're doing is saving money by stripping off ports, marketing you bullshit by sealing the phone with glue so it's "IP67" and then you can't replace the battery OR listen to decent music on the damn thing.
It's all a fucking scam.
Look up an lg-v30 to see what is possible. Pretty much everyone used good to great DACs in their good phones, much better than you'll find in the average USB or BT device
Currently ulefone power 3s
I bought it manly because of huge battery (6200 mah) and doesnt look super tanky or bulky.
Fucking charging once a week is so fucking godly.
Sadly I dropped it in water and the mic doesnt work anymore so I cant talk on it anymore.
Recently bought lenovo z6 lite and it seems like its the best 150$ phone you can buy hardware and software wise. Its on its way still.
>1) You can't even fit a decent DAC inside earbuds.
What do you think is build in your phone? These are also cheap little dacs (except maybe for high end phones)? Also who is talking about earbuds? If you want a good sound quality earbuds is the last thing you want to use
>I don't use headphones.
One has to break the standard to establish a new one. If you are complaining about that, than tell me why should we upgrade anything? why don't we use the technology of the 50's anymore?
>You don't know what the fuck you're talking about and clearly only listen to radio quality music from your Dr. Dre Beats headphones.
I have a masters degree in computer science fucktard. And I know that the DAC's used in most phones are as shitty as the ones build in headphones would be. Just look at the iphone, Shure the 5$ dac build in my iphone is a high end device
Essential PH-1, bought it because it had comparable specs to the Pixel at the time for like a third of the price and came with pretty much vanilla Android. Took a gamble knowing they had pretty bad QA issues, but I was a late adopter and ended up with an excellent phone.
Good move user friend.. it's best to get out if that shitty toxic ecosystem that is Apple.. overpriced af.
If Apple was a diner, they would make pay for a straw if you bought a soda, so...
That was meant for you
Everyone (except applefags probably) knew apple always used shit DACs
Bad example
Galaxy s5. It needs a new battery every few months and I'm starting to run low on storage, though. I'll upgrade to either an s7 or LG K4 in a few months when it's finally put to pasture.
But I don't get the argument at all. If I want to have a good sound I will buy good headphones. My audio technica's have costed 200 bucks, what does a good dac cost? If you don't want a really high end device you are at most 20$ (production cost, as we are talking about components used in mass production). This would increase the price of my headphones by 10%. And if you use Headphones that cost less than 50 bucks or so you won't have a good audio quality either.
So you need an expensive DAC only in expensive headphones, which doesn't pose big of a problem in my oppinion.
Just saying, I bought a new PC 3 month ago, one of the 3 audio jacks is already broken. Audiojack is just fucking bad as a technology
Yeah
I forgot about the W810 I used to have
A WALKMAN™ phone which required the use of an adaptor dongle to connect headphones. I also remember that being one od the main things that hurt my experience with that phone even though the sound didn't suffer because of it.
Wait a second, you think a DAC is in earbuds? Wut?
I have been using Apple for what, 10 years now, and just got myself a Galaxy S10. So I can say I feel retarded for using Apple for so long. Did you know you can't get the Clover app on Apple? The phones are so restrictive on what they don't want you to see.
It is also way better for me since I use my phone for work
onePlus 6t, it's pretty amazing
>this
I own a smartphone because I read and surf on it, social media is pretty cancer
oneplus xiaomi or vivo
samsung or huawei if you're gay
iphone/apple under no circumstance
I feel no emotions or attachment at all towards a phone. I find it weird that people do.
>3 audio jacks is already broken
That's just shitty manufacturing. Surprise.
Audio jacks are great. They are nearly perfect for what they are, a means to connect an analogue device to another device.
The argument is I don't want to buy more shit. If I spend $1k on a phone I want it to be able to accept something as ubiquitous as headphones with reasonable sound out of the fucking box. If that means an INCLUDED adaptor/dongle, then I'll begrudgingly take that. Included is a meme though.
Wireless ear buds need a built in DAC in each one.
Why don't you know this?
Galaxy s10+
Didn't need it as I had the s8+ or s9+ before, but I have a bad habit of spending money on unnecessary stuff to make me happier for a short while
S7 Edge for 3.5 years now. I don't feel the need to upgrade as it's still good for communication and still has a decent camera.
Will prolly get back to iOS next year.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8
Note 8 and upgrading to the Note 10 Plus,
Worked as a phone repair tech. Had a Galaxy s5 made from parts, then got Note 8 from boss. It's awesome and practical. Never been a feature I haven't made use of,
The S-pen is Awesome and allows another dimension in practicality. Scribbling notes and making diagrams on the fly.
Upgrading because I can and any other model seems like having a limb amputated without my little S-pen buddy.
Agreed on all points. Note 9 user here. Is there any reason for ne to upgrade you think?
No unless yo have too.
Adding to my statement. the Note 9 is too new.
I own a Galaxy S7 for private use and a iPhone for work. Fuck iOS. It's absolutely made for retards. Will NEVER buy an iOS-device.
Agreed!
Makes sense. Thanks user.
All good.
Moto G5 S+ here. Workhorse, no issues after 18 months, battery still fine (as is the Moto G3 I had before, 6 years old, still use as a backup, battery still lasts over 24 hours under normal circumstances).
Wife has iPhone 8 and it's fucking dumb. Why would anyone pay twice as much for half the functionality? She got it 2nd hand a few months ago and already regrets it, already planning to go back to Android soon.
Oh yeah, the motos still have the 3.5mm jack. Pretty much everything sounds killer through my Audio Technica M50s I got for £120 a few years ago.
Pixel2xl with a small crack, not getting the 3 because i prefer waiting for the 4
>he browses Yea Forums with a phone
Galaxy 's 5
It was supposed to be a dollar for black friday.
Apparently it was a dollar down....
Fucking scam artists asked them like 4 different ways that it was gong to be my 'upgrade' despite not using one in over 4 years....
Fuckers. Now I'm just too cheap to drop real money on another pocket computer.
Only 15 year olds give a fuck about phones.
Honor 8A
3GB Ram
32 GB Rom with 64GB micro Sd
Galaxy s10e, i needed a new puone my old phones scren broke. I wanted the s10+ but it wasnt available in the store at the time.
why are android users so bitter to apple and their iphones?
Nobody loves to directly slowing down there own phones.
To buy a new one.
I've got Huawei P20 lite, super cheap, has good enough hardware and most of all. Dual SIM card. I have my private phone number and company number on the same phone.
Dual sim is the way to go!
S10 MASTER RACE
Really? Cause I have an iPhone and I can’t find any shemales to fuck me.
>having a hashtag tattoo
why
jelly
I’m just laughing over here. You are talking about wireless earbuds and quality audio. First off, earbuds. lol. A suitable DAC for quality audio is not a cheap component stuffed into an earbud, or even a phone. Whoever has a boner for getting hifi sound out of a phone, is being ridiculous.
Half the point
Some phones had good DACs stuffed in them.
Most of the main android phones had at least okay DACs.
The DACs in apples weren't complete shit
Basically if you have a good pair of headphones you could take any of the flagship phones and have audio quality that ranged from good enough to actually pretty decent, even without an amp.
This girl on the Picture is a fuckin trap and you have her dick in you ass.
Asus zenfone 3 zoom
I didn't even buy it
My mom works at a movie theatre and found it under a seat while cleaning.
It was in lost and found for like 3 weeks then she just brought it home and gave it to me
Poco F1 with pixel skin
Best phone under $300 when released
A refurbished Pixel because I'm not a fag, but I'll probably load it up with KaiOS.
Moto g6 32 gigs, was 200 bucks on prime day. Runs well good enough camera, face scan and finger print. Ovr 7.5/10
Galaxy a40
I got it new for 150 euro.
iPhone X because my mom bought it for me.
Imagine having your mom spend 1200 on a phone for a fat neckbeard kissless virgin like you
True how lame. If non apple was a diner they would give you the soda for free in exchange for putting a listening device and gps up your anus so they could sell this to advertisers.
So you got two shit phones for an unreasonable price?
1+1
Is good phone
Old but good
This. I would also say one big benefit of iPhones is their accessibility. Whenever tech illiterate boomers want a phone recommendation, I always say iPhone. Much more intuitive than the Androids I’ve used (but never owned).
Sony. Superior samurai technology
what happens when you call the private number from the company number?
black hole forming?
Whatever phone i fucking want to own, because fuck OP
>Doesn't think apple does the exact same thing but makes you pay for it instead.
iPhone XSMax. Because I can afford it.
Note 9. External storage, s pen, headphone port, oled display. Nice hardware. Would have flashed with lineage but no s pen support, and I really fuckin like my s pen.
Also, being a computer/phone tech, I refuse to buy into the apple autism. That company has grown into a tumor on the technology industry, and their phones function and are built like shit.
My next choice for a phone was a 6T, then a V40. Now I'm really digging the 7 pro, but I don't think I'll upgrade from my note for a while. I'll flash it with lineage when it gets older.
