Cause he can

obviously he can, but this spot was just random right? and if we are so important to him (created in his image and whatnot) why wouldn't he put us somewhere special to make that clear?

earth is pretty fking special u fuck try living on mars

it's sufficient for life, which is rare but not unique

>why did he put us here?
because it's totally more awesome on the other side of the galaxy?

Do you have a better spot in mind? Does it matter? Do you think if there were a good they would face chosen a more central spot? Secluded spot? What?

Maybe there are many gods, and their power only applys to a certain part of the Earth and only can manifest as long as people pray to them. And those are the ones who consider us to be their children. But in a higer level, there are greater gods responsible for the creation of the cosmos and they don't really give a fuck about us. So.. in our ignorance, we assume our little and lesser human liking gods and the greater ones are the same thing.

>go buy an antfarm faggot
lol, god didn't put us here, fucking aliens did

It may have supported life at one point. Probably looking before earth was capable.

tell me any other planet u know of rn that can support life.

Im sure the chances of there being other planets with life are pretty big since we know so little and the universe is so big. But Earth is pretty fking amazing man. God said this earth is a Garden for us to tend and we can let the weeds grow or plant beautiful plants (metaphorically ofc).

What im saying is that we grow out of this planet like apples grow out of apple trees. We are fruits of the Earth and grow out of it, God did not "place" us here although you find yourself here. So stop questioning why God did what and start tending your Garden ;)

better as in making it clear that we are gods children, created in his image and our lives have a purpose and we owe all to him, I think so. Maybe the center of a galaxy, in a galaxy that is unique from the other ones somehow and not on a collision course with another galaxy in a few billion years

there's many Earth-like exoplanets, that could potentially support life as we know it

new one just discovered 2 weeks ago

Probably couple hundred thousand or so, at least.
Is the life intelligent? No clue.
Have they traveled here? Probably not.
But the likelihood of aliens somewhere else in the vastness of space is pretty high if you include bacteria and single cell organisms.

I guess more to the point why did he bother making all the rest of the galaxy? Jesus sure as shit didn’t know Mars existed.

someone post the pepsi merchant guy on mars

God: take care of the earth and make it nice
also God: destroys man's work with tsunamis, volcanos, earthquakes, disease, pests, droubts, massive tornadoes
everyone: O_O

If something like God exists then our questions about how it operates would still be pointless because we understand nothing about what it even is or how the universe works beyond the 3 dimensions we see. Like a germ asking existential questions to other germs. I assume God would just be some sort of being that percieves and interacts with more dimensions than we do but we aren't capable of imagining what existence would be like for such a being so I just don't worry about it too much. God either doesn't exist, does exist and doesn't care about us, or does exist and has a plan for us that we can't comprehend. Regardless of which it is, we can't really do anything about it in our current state.

>God either doesn't exist, does exist and doesn't care about us, or does exist and has a plan for us that we can't comprehend.

And in any of those cases going to church or worrying about what’s written in a 2000 year old book seems pretty pointless.

God exists and he hates us.
