there's nothing wrong with the controls, your character is just generally slower in his movements so it feels clunky. that and the massively increased stamina consumption/slow stamina recharge force you to be much more deliberate in your moves which i like a lot more than spam rolling 13 times in a row like you can in ds3. don't get me wrong i love ds3 too, but it's a totally different kind of combat pacing.

Just because the FPS genre has progressed over time, that doesn't make this game any less God-tier. The story for this game was brilliant and the map customization was phenomenal. You could literally create your own campaign map. The characters were interesting and the FPS was great for its time. What's not to love.

Rimworld is great, it’s a great game by itself.. it’s certainly easier to play than DF in terms of controls and menu navigation... but has none of the procedural history and depth that DF has.
That’s the best thing IMO about dwarf Fortress. Many games have procedural generation....but I don’t know of any other games that then allow the procedurally generated content to “run the game” for 50, 100, 200, 500 years etc creating a unique history for your world that puts all of the procedurally generated content into context.

I didn’t have internet when I was first playing Morrowind...so I had to discover the entire table of elements for all the ingredients of the game, which I did with my High Elf Sorceress ‘Miloque’, and had a recipe book written by myself of useful ingredients for different potions.
I even deciphered the Dwemer language myself using the map which had “Morrowind’ written in Dwemer runes, and code-broke the Dwemer alphabet just from that.
I remember there was no letter “T” in the dwarves language.

Skyrim was never a game about making major decisions. It's an adventure game for people who are feeling tired or lazy and generally want to experience adventuring without all the frustration that difficulty and depth bring. So I'll admit that it's a casual game. But it's still a lot of fun. And with mods, it's a great game to relax with. If you're one of those people who're too cynical to appreciate fun, or who have accomplished so little in life that the only satisfaction you get comes from being tryhard turd and telling everyone else how much they suck and how much of a pro you are, then put down the controller and pick up a shotgun and do the world a favor, you flaming, sad little shitball.

Skyrim is objectively the best Elder Scrolls game mechanically. Morrowind was better atmospherically (imo) but soon we will be able to play a perfect replication of it in Skyrim, which means sexy bod mods and ragdoll physics.
Since Skyrim is already mentioned I'll go with Minecraft or Rimworld. Rimworld isn't as godly famous, but Minecraft is some world changing shit yo.

It's not. I have 10 hours on the game, so I gave it a fair shot. It's trash. More than anything else, I can't stand the combat. Do you know how fucking stupid I feel swinging at my stationary enemy again and again at point-blank range and watching as only half of my attacks land because of RNG? I can't even fucking block an attack in this game unless RN Jesus says it's ok. A game in which is centered around stats, luck and NOTHING else is a shit game that isn't even remotely fun.

I don't know much of anything about FO1 or 2. I played the first one years ago, and although I don't remember much, I remember not liking it. FO:NV had good writing, but that's not why I played. I loved the gameplay. It felt a bit clunky at times, but hardcore mode was so immersive and fun that I feel like it deserves a 5/5. The mods turned NV into a masterpiece. And FO3 was only playable because of mods, and even then, barely. Borderlands one I thought was shit. The gameplay was boring as fuck, the story was mildly interesting, and the graphics were somewhat unappealing. Borderlands 2 had pretty good writing, at least enough to keep it from being as boring as the first one. The gameplay and atmosphere is why I love BL2. I loved their emphasis on creativity with the weapons and environment. Not to mention, Handsome Jack was an awesome antagonist.
