now i have an opportunity to potentially sway things back in my direction. I'm good friends with this other guy, and he said that she stopped talking to him saying he was bad for her relationship with her husband, but this guy doesn't know that she and I also used to hook up. Guy #2 wants me to talk to her to see whats up (since he knows I'm good friends with her).

No it's not desperate because he asked you to do it. You're not making it up but see where the conversation goes. Ask her if a guy's ever asked about her for another guy and get details to see her reactions. If she responds positively make your move and don't bring it up.
Brother here's my advice from being in your situation multiple times.
If you plan on marrying your current gf, block this chick, delete every photo of her and try to deal with the tremendous guilt you'll feel later on.
If not, do every nasty, dirty, filthy kink that comes to mind and fuck her like a slut. Because hoes like her are few and far between and you'll regret it if you don't .
Just make sure you don't get her pregnant and get checked every so often lol.
