So I was a complete asshole to my on and off "girlfriend" of 10 years. We have been fighting a lot, as she has been calling off the relationship for small things. But my fuck, does it hurt now. Like, my heart hurts. I am a loser who lives at home with parents, age 29. She is going to be a doctor next year, last year of residence. Age 34.
What the fuck, should I go crazy and try to get her back, or should I just focus on myself? I recently got a good job, and on my way to paying off debt. I feel like a loser but....I'm not going to an hero so fuck off if you think that. The only thing I plan on doing is being depressed....and I'm trying to make plans to keep my mind of contacting her like a little bitch.

Just be honest that you were drunk and didn't want to see her because you were afraid of making an ass of yourself. Avoid saying sorry or begging but yeah you need to do you dont relly on her for your happiness.

she has cheated on me before. When we first started dating. I also cheated on her after that, multiple times. She never found out but I did it to "get back." felt bad. this was all 9-10 years ago when cheating went on.
When we broke up, she was seeing someone else. I know they were talking. She actually got charged with harassment for stalking him. But she got charges let off, and got back to business to be a doctor. Now she is a year away from full out working as a PC.

There's no set time for anything. Guy A dates 7 yesrs and does nothing to feel better. Guy B dates 2 years and does everything you should do after a breakup. Guy B had a better girl and deeper love and fell hard.... He's still sad while guy A is doing OK cause his relationship sucked and he sees that now.

I find being busy is accurate. Even watching more netflix in the first brutal days an hours. Like a drug detox cause that's what it is, chemically....
After a time, going out when pushed... Even if you want to stay home at first can be good
But it's OK to hide for awhile early on.
End of 8 years took me a solid year and it wasn't the best pairing, still hurt.
