In process of registering for UC, but it'll still be like a month before receiving anything, and the £65 that I'll receive before then won't be enough to tide me over. I need to find something that will at least help me not fall into debt as the UC is barely enough to cover rent and utilities. Not enough to groceries and travel ontop of everything else.

It's a medical reason my employer was aware of, went through it during the interview and induction. Nothing life threatening, but when it flares up it can have a huge impact on my daily life and what I'm capable of doing, I've been to hospital a few times about it this year. Usually it isn't too bad to I just go to work and get on with it, but the past week has been pretty bad.
I was mainly complaining/venting over the fact that it's a zero tolerance about the doctors note, but the doctors don't have appointments for at least the next 3 weeks. I'm not sure how it works at your doctors, but at mine if you don't have an appointment they won't see you unless it's something serious/potentially life threatening.

That'd have to be an absolute last case scenario.

You can self-certify for 7 days under UK employment law and time off after that requires a note from your GP. If you, as you claim, got fired on your 6th day of absense, provided you followed your employers sick policy (calling in in the morning at a reasonalble time etc) then you have been dismissed unfairly and your employer is breaking the law. I kinda feel like you aren't telling the whole story but if what you say is true then you should ring the citizens advice thing or speak to a solicitor.

Never even heard of it. I did try a different doctors service thing a year ago when I couldn't get an appointment, but they tried signing me up for a service and adding a bunch of charges. Haven't trusted anything other than my regular GP since as it's free.

Nah, but the doctors office/place here is pretty shit. Where I used to live it was a lot easier to get appointments, and doctors were actually decent. The ones here seem to be either understaffed, or just insanely overworked. Never have available appointments, and I'm pretty sure the staff have just stopped giving a crap.

You should have posted this thread a couple days ago because I would have been able to tell you that for pre existing conditions you can ring your GPs receptionist and told them you need a sick note for your illness and then your doctor would fill one out and youi could pick it up later in the day. Ah, I've done that before but here they only do it if you've had an appointment recently. Did try asking about it but I got told to call back another day to see if they have appointment available.
Even if they did agree to do it, it takes 24-48 hours for it to be processed at my doctors (they either won't/can't do it faster... I tried asking about it a few months ago when I was also having hospital appointments before) and my employer was adamant that there is no chance at all of an extension for getting the note. Wouldn't even give me a chance to check if doctors had any cancellations tomorrow.

The doctor refuses to give a sick note to people unless he's seen them and knows they're actually sick, fair enough this makes sense. The closest doctors appointment is in over 3 weeks, so I have to wait at least 3 weeks to see the doctor for him to even consider doing a note. For me to get a sick note for this, I'd have had to somehow known I was going to be sick and tried booking an appointment weeks ago.
