Overall, you have a lot of small towns, still. You also have a lot of big cities, too. There is lot more crime around cities than around the country, but in a lot of the country areas there are a lot of people who like meth. preferred interest for a lot of people these days. Stupidity is a social norm. Teachers quitting in record numbers, primarily around the black communities. Everything is going to shit. It's not a doomsday scenario over here, but yes, things are getting fucked. The people are fucked, as well. Things got bad because being stupid while you're on drugs and partying became the only things people wanted to ever do.

Probably not much different from life in Canada. The chaos that you see on the news is the worst of the worst, and it makes things seem much worse than they are. The US is a big place and most locations are pretty normal and dull.
People like this simpleton talk about how much more "freedumbs" we have, but I highly doubt you'd notice a big difference in terms of liberty if you moved here -- and that goes for people from most developed countries. Sure, you can buy guns, but the cost of healthcare and higher education is laughable.

Honestly? Its like multiple small countries all together and LA is worlds different from Houston and Chicago and central Kentucky and NYC. Theres a unifying idea of what America is that kinda chains them together loosely that only gets shit on in the big cities which are also the worst places to be. Look at where the freedom of expression has gotten us. We're constantly at each other's throats and the divisions haven't been this deep since the civil war. I'm not saying we should start banning forms of "hate speech", but I certainly wouldn't pretend that the 1st amendment makes us any better than Canada or any other developed country.
