Finding friends is about meeting people and learning to care about them, but more than that it's about accepting your true self and learning to care about yourself.
If you want to find friends you'll need to go to things outdoors; online friends can only fulfill so much. Go to school, or get a job, and focus on improving yourself. Through that process you will naturally attract others; those should be your friends. Learn to care about them and they will do the same for you.
Humans are social creatures and cannot live on information alone. Sometimes all they really need is a genuine hug or smile.
