It was different back in the early 2004-2009 times. Memes were original and had meaning. Nowadays, faggots purposely try to force memes in to happening by spamming and it feels unnatural.
Females also weren't allowed to be apart of Yea Forums and were told to 'gb2 the kitchen' or 'tits or gtfo'. Nowadays, there's quite a lot of females who use random because if you post something offensive about dumb women then you'll get a lot of negative replies back calling you an incel.
There were also tons of raids back then on anything from public figures to camwhores or entire communities. Nowadays, you wouldn't be able to do that without being banned.
I feel as though it changed for the worst because destroyed what made this place fun to use. But I guess the change was needed because the staff were getting too much heat from the mainstream media.
Oh, and if you are wondering where most of the oldfags went, they most likely have spread to different communities like bodybuilding's /misc/ forum or different forums. Not everybody went to 8ch and more anons left after hotwheels abandoned the website.

Newgrounds was my fucking SHIT dude. Flash games and animations were amazing to me. Just anybody could make stuff, using software and skills from the internet. Twas a beautiful time.
