Bro art is totally subjective the same painting can in the eye of one person be a 1 and in the other a 10 you know where this is goining. Stop beeing self conceous and just do what you love. To me art is something you make just for the sake of creating, to express yourself and to be proud of yourself, the admiration of other people is just a bonus. If you need the approval of others to be satisfyed with your work then you're not doing it right. :) (if there even is a way to do art the RIGHT way)

The more answers I think of, the more I wonder why.
Hearing people compliment me on my work has a similar addictive feeling as nicotine. It’s a fairly satisfying high, but it’s so cheap and short-lived.
One of my greatest dreams is to work as a painter full-time in NYC with my own personal studio space. When people compliment my work, it makes me feel like I actually have a shot at getting there. Idk.

What you need is feedback, and alot of it. Don't just go around looking for kind words, look for the harshest ones you can get and work 3 times harder than you have until now.
Or feed your weakness as it uses your creativity to gamble for 5 minutes of that "less than average trashy feeling".

Not really but ok. Anything can be called "abstract", but real abstract artists actually play with the colors and create some sort of patterns. This is just random strokes and random pen lines that supposed to resemble an abstract shape or something but they look like a messy turd. Try to actually play with the colors and their properties for starters then explore patterns, feelings and symbolism. A quick google research can show you what I mean
