Did you make the leak about epstein?
You ever told any callers to fuck off
Nope.
I never have, but I've wanted to handfuls of times, lemme tell ya.
what were someone’s last words?
Please state the nature of the emergency.
Did you ever get a hardon when a teenager called about getting raped by her relative /stepdad
Are you a 911 dispatcher?
Please get the fuck off of my thread.
That depends. I have a few stories of some pretty morbid calls I've been on if anyone's interested.
Yeah, how'd you know?
wild guess
interested in morbid calls. please enlighten us, op
Tell us something interesting op.
also, this
are you able to trace someone's location when they call?
I feel like we're kids around a campfire
how many clams make bullshit calls trying to report rape ?
I guess I'll share the worst call I answered. A little girl called in one day after getting home from school. Found her mom dead in their bathtub after slitting her wrists. Found out later that apparently the mother had a baby a few months before and was suffering really bad postpartum depression. The girl who called in couldn't have been older than 7 or 8. Her cries will legit never leave my head for as long as I live. It was the true sound of actual horror in her voice. Still gives me the chills to think about it.
Normally, yes, but sometimes we can only trace a call through the cell tower it was routed through. Hell, you could be next door, but if your call was traced through a cell tower 3 miles away, it will give us that location.
Freakiest/ craziest calls
>Aaaaaand go!
Has anyone called because their cable TV went out or Netflix or A/C was down or something stupid like that?
Moar
Surprisingly, not that many. Very few calls are related to rape. Most girls go straight to the station to report a rape.
Old people do this all the time. I so desperately want to tell the to fuck off and call their internet/cable provider or a repairman, but no matter how much I try, these geriatric senile fucks think calling 911 is the best answer.

Have you become jaded or do some calls still shock you? Do you sleep well?
For freakiest, see I'll tell one of the funniest. This elderly couple called in because they'd bought "brownies" at a local farmers market. They said that time was moving too slow and they both felt as if they were dying. Sent EMTs to check them out, and turns out they were just really fucking stoned, and the brownies were edibles. They both ate like 3 a piece.
As someone who is currently getting into a dispatch job at my local department, what are some of the best tips you received from seasoned employees?
There are always calls that really get to you. People who've walked in on family members who off'd themselves are ones that always stick with you. The sounds of peoples voices when they're truly terrified is a difficult sound to forget. I don't think I'll ever get used to the morbidness of some calls that we get.
Number one tip: STAY CALM. Yes, it's going to be stressful sometimes and the caller will be a fucking asshole that you want to hang up on, but you need to just work with them and look from their perspective. It takes some getting used to, but with practice, you'll be fine.
Kek. Stoned old people, not bad.
>Moar?
>3 a piece
Lmao Walter and Ethel were on the fuckin moon
how many whackadoo old women do you get that do nothing but call on their neighbors for innocuous nonsense all day ?
The two I've told are the only ones that truly stick out, but I'm sure I'll remember a few more that I'll tell.
Noise complaints from old women are the one call I hate answering because we literally do jack shit about it. All we do is pretty much say "yeah we'll send an officer out okay bye" and that's it. And if an officer isn't there within 30 seconds, they start calling back demanding that we arrive faster.
How many 5051's do you get regarding the mentally ill being out of control, threatening themselves or others?
wut city you dispatch in ?
A few a month, normally. One call I answered, the person reported that her neighbor was outside with a knife and baseball bat bashing in car windows and cutting himself, threatening to kill anyone who called the cops. The guy had super bad psychosis and had stopped taking his meds the week before. Pretty sure he was committed.
Major metropolitan area in Oregon.
Holy shit. I genuinely feel bad for the people who try to fuck with the mentally ill. They're the people that will threaten you and actually follow through with said threat.
I feel you. The best course of option for officers is to just use non-lethal force with them, like a taser or beanbag. It's unfortunate because you know the mentally ill can't help being the way they are in that situation, but it's the only way you can subdue them.
Genuinely don't feel bad*
Yep. Extremely unpredictable, especially if they think they're being provoked.
Where were YOU on 9/11?
Has anyone called in to report a murder that they committed that you answered?
I was in 3rd grade. Barely remember the day tbh.
I haven't answered one of those, but a coworker of mine has. Father in a family had just drowned his 2 year old daughter in the bathtub and called in to have himself arrested. Never really found out why he did it.
are your workdays usually busy? what are the most frequent calls about?
