Because you don't understand the laws nor choose to, twatwaffle. To seek asylum, for instance, you must physically be in this country to request it.
Snowden had to go to Russia and physically be in that country to ask for asylum. It was granted.
If someone is fleeing persecution in another country, they can't seek asylum without being on US soil. So, shit for brains, stopping asylum seekers before they reach the US soil is the illegal act.
