Idea is
Skyler is bounty hunting and ends up going after the most ruthless and brutal gang on the frontiers (not western setting I can explain this separately).
To do so she has to gather a team of other bounty hunters and find a way to cooperate without everybody killing each other.
Once she gets a plan in order with the others, she finds a way to introduce herself to their leader. Usually doing so would be suicide, but she has a means to apeal to their leader. She is a Raven Born, much like the gang leader himself. She could be a very valuable member with the gang considering Her superhuman abilities, it also isnt hard to convince them she is as much an enemy of the law as they are.
Working with the team of bounty hunters, and her on the inside she manuevers a way to set a trap for the gang then take down their leader.

I enjoyed the early 2000s anime she was much more contemplative. It seemed her bubbly personality was a facade over alot of anxiety, fear, and anger.
Mabey imdpread too much into her character, but I think of her as an mich more complex character, than I believe then author had in mind.
