I have bought pic related for $200. Did I get ripped off?
I have bought pic related for $200. Did I get ripped off?
Yep, but that's how hvac works. Hope you know how to charge liquid.
Sheit, that means I can't sell this for more late...
Wait a moment, I'm stupid, I should have bought 10 tanks of R22, and waited for couple years to sell it.
Check the temp and pressure to see if its actually 410a and not something else
Why didnt you buy helium?
>not stockpiling helium to make a mint in 20 years.
It is 220 psi or something like that, 75 F on gauge. And I have 24 C in the room, which is close enough. So it is R410a.
Fucking imperial units though.
Because you can't charge AC that leaks with helium.
Can I use some Teflon tape on king valves? I know it leaks there, and if i seal nuts, it won't leak.
Should I buy pic related and sell later?
And when should I sell R12 tank I have laying around, fully sealed?
You fucked up holding onto that 12 for as long as you did
Anything in 12 nowadays isn't worth fixing and extremely old and obsolete
You'll have to find an old fuck that collects old trash and wants to repair his old piece of shit fridge otherwise that shit is worthless
I'd personally release it into the atmosphere out of spite for the epa
Kek Why the pastel colors?
Today I learned about Refigerant Futures
Colors determine refrigerant types.
>You fucked up holding onto that 12 for as long as you did
Sheit.
Can I use it instead of R134a in car AC? I mean, shit works with synthetic oil no problem
Or better wait more...
What have you learned? That DuPont's patent expiration caused ozone hole?
Same shit is happening to R134a, patent will expire soon, and they are phasing it out. Huh.
already outlawed
looks like pig
that only virgin tanks and r22 is being phazed out anyway
Legit thought this was helium for a sec
Making an exit bag?
>Making an exit bag
>out of a refigerant tank full of 410a
Facepalm.jpg.exe
Nah, it is not 2020 yet.
I think I would be able to get 200% profit in 2022 from R22.
There are a lot of ACs running R22.
No. But I want to know how much I paid extra for getting R410a without f-gas license.
No car ac compressor are designed for r-134a and only r-134a. The operating pressures maybe similar but all you would be asking for Is problems.$$$$
Yeah you got fucking ripped. I've got supply stores around my area that sells them for 85-120 a tank.
Honestly most systems that will still use R-22 are pretty much due to replacement. You can buy a tank but most folks will just replace the whole system with the r-410a rather than continuing their old system. You may find people desperate for it because they can't afford to replace but honestly isn't worth the hassle.
R12 is highly explosive, main reason it doesn't go anywhere near car ac systems
>Yeah you got fucking ripped. I've got supply stores around my area that sells them for 85-120 a tank.
Sheit. Next time I will get a fucking gas license.
>You may find people desperate for it because they can't afford to replace but honestly isn't worth the hassle.
Ok.
Why? If R12 compressor can run on R134a, why R134a compressor can't run on R12?
Question: I recently recharged my car ac, but am wondering if such systems have relief valves to prevent overfilling.
R12 is non-flammable. I think you can put fire down with R12. It is good old stuff. Banned.
You're confusing shit with R600a (isobutane) and R290 (propane), and their mix, which is sometimes sold as R12a.
No. I filled AC once like that and I ruined the compressor because of high pressure.
Good thing I can get working compressors from junkyard.
Guess I should have used the meter from a previous kit. Is there a simple way to manually bleed it down to spec?
Get a gauges, check pressures.
Then vent some gas from high side.
No you just overcharge the system to the point of flooding the evaporator coil. In return you are atomizing the refrigerant and cooling efficiency is diminished
Thanks. Compressor becomes audible once it gets down to 70 in the cabin. Didn't do that before.
should have gotten r134a, it's an anesthetic
In theory you can put r12 into a vacuumed down r134a system. The r12 oil will mix ok with PAG Oil/estor oil.
As a hvac tech i guess i follow the proper procedures. I would change the filter drier and piston/Txv and evacuate ALL oil prior to dropping in r12. But this is not something that would be done in field.
There is a reason dropping r12 into new or retrofitted systems unless Industrial use is illegal. But hey if you have disposable r12 and a dry r134a system give it a shot. It's been done before. Just EVACUATE
Dude, huff some of that shit! It gets you way more fucked up than any hallucinogenic drugs. And it's like the opposite of helium-it makes your voice go Darth Vader deep and you will trip balls. I am not joking, my friends and I would buy 4 packs of this stuff from Kmart back in the day. Be careful not to over do it though, one of my friends pissed his pants and another passed out so hard that someone put out a cigarette on his face at lunch hour and didn't find out until after school. Fucking good times!!!
Should I use R12 as an air duster?
Better yet burn the refrigerant to create phosgene gas just like ww2. Good stuff.
Nigga all it does is just displace oxygen which causes the "high" effect. You don't need to spend money on refrigerant to do that, just nab some compressed air cans from Walmart or some shit.
>nab some compressed air cans from Walmart or some shit.
They have bitterant.
This is why I use R134a as air duster. And air duster gas in car AC
Cash out now. I’ll give $1 usd a pound
r134a works as an inhalant because it is an anesthetic gas. other refrigerants are not safe to inhale and don't have anesthetic effects
that's not true. you actually don't get high from lack of oxygen, you function normally until you simply black out and/or die
R12 or R410a?
Chloroform is better. And cheaper. Acetone is like cheap, and bleach is like cheap too
Say that to pilots. They have no oxygen at high altitude and they get high without pressurization
do not inhale acetone or bleach vapor!
No
Yes it's not sealed
is that the same tank they put party balloon helium in
Mine was sealed, before I checked the pressure.
Essentially yes.
Can I compress my farts in such tank and sell?
Holy fuck is the same HVAC guy again what the fuck is going on??
what?
You need to get a pipe wrench and remove the valve fitting on the top of the tank. Then take a picture of the inside of the tank so we can see if there is much rust.
That it the only way we can help judge if you got ripped off.
I will not do this, since 15 bars is enough to damage my drywall with flying valve.
What R22 drop in is Yea Forums using?
I use 407c. the only part that sucks is the oil change. I use PVE oil
I use R22, since in third world it is dirt cheap. Fuck ozone. I want suntan and some UV sterilization on streets.
427A, been a straight drop in for us, no oil change and pressures very close to original R22
Fuel grade propane.
Not true. The classic car community pays good money for R12.
Thanks man. It is sealed, I guess I can sell one. How much for tank? $500?
Can you sell then R409A in R22 tanks?
R12*
Can I fill R410a in R32 system?
