there aren't any
This, they're all absolute silly shit. Horror movies are only any good when you're a dumb kid (or a woman) and can't see how fake and stupid it all is.
Not for everybody but I love jeepers creepers
So i shouldn't try It and It chapter 2?
Martyrs.
It's like a Serbian film, they are notorious yet not scary
Go visit my boy SpookyRice on youtube he reviews disturbing horror movies
Are you the same guy from last time this thread was made?
Also, the Ritual is a good horror movie. People have also said good things about the Descent, but I haven't personally watched it in ages.
The babadook, The Thing, Terrifier, The Shining, IT, ect.
I watched an entire list of horror movies once, can provide it if you all care.
Depends on what you like really. I love a good, shitty 80's horror movie, so all Friday the 13ths are pretty good to me (almost all I realize)
1.) Cannibal Holocaust (more of a thinking movie but still has it moments) 2.) Kazaam (Just holy fuck it still gives me orgasms in the middle of the night) and third and final would be My Little Pony Halloween
No, I am.
The Poughkeepsie Tapes
The only horror movie I've seen in years that I really enjoyed was As Above So Below
But the ritual ain't bad.
jacobs ladder
The original Day of the Dead film is pretty good. Cheesy 80s Romero horror but it's always been a film I enjoyed because it's a story of lost hope and fairly gritty. Great zombie effects too.
Also both of the dawn of the dead movies are good for different reasons.
Martyrs kind of sucked. I mean, it's torture porn really. Designed to make you feel like shit, which really isn't hard to do.
They're good, but you really have to be ready for the campy 80's horror cliché moments. They started them, after all.
The Thing is definitely my favorite of the old horror movies. I dont even know if I consider it a horror movie anymore, but its definitely got the body horror going for it
Good thing I'm not the only one who liked it. I don't even know why, because it's a pretty mediocre film overall. I just like it because it feels... I don't know... plausible? Unlike "here is evil demon that's coming for you" movies.
The Thing just wasn't really my thing (no pun intended). I think because I saw Alien first it felt too much like a repeat.
So many good horror movies out there though, I love them.
Raw is pretty fucked up.
Loved this movie, definitely worth it.
it felt like it was original, I don't know if it was, because I sure don't watch exhaustive lists of horror movies, but it was at least a new take
The Witch from 2016 is pretty good
The latest horror movie I've watched, and what gave a me freaking goosebumps durimg watching like no other film in a long time is "heridatary". I was creeped out by it for days. And I mean it. There is such a realness to the characters because it is about a family that loses their (creepy ass) girl , and the mother finds a way to talk to her... Creepy shit I tell ya. I've been watching horror movies all my Life, been a fan and always will be.
Of course the chan would love Martyrs, but Inside was actually fucking awesome
decent film
also nice
dont know if under the silver lake is a horror but it was def creepy
>I sure don't watch exhaustive lists of horror movies
I'm by no means an expert, but I actually did exactly this (at least for one list) and it was a ton of fun. Yeah, there were a lot of duds, but it exposed me to so much I wouldn't normally have watched. If you love horror movies, I'd highly recommend finding a top 10/50/100 list and literally making it a project to watch every single one. It's a lot of fun.
It's alright, no boobies
>heridatary
you lost me, and my respect
Not strictly horror, more like psychological thriller.
Silence of the Lambs
Cube
Misery
^This
I forgot about this one and now I'm going to watch it tonight.
Try It Follows (2014)
> No gay jump scares
> Interesting concept
> Indie Horror Firm
Fuck your resepect. If I watched horror movies ever day I also would not get chills by heridatary. But I haven't watched for a year now, and watching this movie alone gave me the chills. Plus it's a good cinematic production
Is the Autopsy of Jane Hoe decent?
Shits weak brah
Pretty good
It was, but the ending became increasingly obvious. Very tense and creepy as the mystery unfolded. I would recommend with some hesitation simply because of the ending being extremely meh and overdone in the Horror/Thriller genre.
But yeah, I would say worth a watch despite it. The journey was worth it even considering the end.
Name a better horror movie in the last 5 years.
>the monster is smart
>acts like a retard sometimes
very average though better than most horror flicks, the concept is interesting but the execution mediocre.
it's aight
Predictable but still a decent watch
Not a movie, but I love the Twilight Zone. Super interesting concepts that are scary but also relate to irl problems.
Easy there Rambo. Why are you so touchy? lol.
It lost me at the end when the mom started climbing the walls. Made no fucking sense, and no rhyme or reason to it that I could tell. Was simply trying to discuss the movie you nimbwit
Reality is scary enough user

Any holocaust documentary you can get your hands on. Those are some great fantasy horror movies. Its not for the faint of heart tho, there are a lot of people who actually think the holocaust happened, but its just a horror story jews tell their children so they would behave.
I liked Skeleton Key. Creepy backwoods Louisiana voodoo
A Serbian Film
This movie is fucking horrible, i don't lie
What kind of apes raped your brain? Seems like those maggots have clouded your mind, my child
I cried at Chernobyl
Original exorcist
Yeah its a pretty sad movie. The acting was great.
not scary but it's pretty disturbing. great movie though
Older movie, not bad though if you like sort of sci fi elements.
Ofc, the holocaust never existed, that's what they want you to think
Rude much? This is a thread about horror movies. I simply gave a good suggsestion with abit of backstory attatched to it. Why be a dick about it?
More like psychological horror but anything by Jordan Peele, so "Get out" or "Us". I especially recommend get out, there's like 1 jump scare and it's a really intelligent movie with a lot of social comments
report him
>a lot of social comments
Was gonna say this but you beat me to it.
Not a horror movie but a social commentary about being black in 2019, and a fucking terrible one at that.
Because god forbid you tell a black guy you met Tiger Woods, or that you voted for Obama. Pretty much puts you on par with actual slave owners. Fucking offensive, racist piece of trash movie, I think true horror lovers will see through the bullshit as just a shitty medium to push the guy's social views on everybody. Man, fuck this movie.
nigger shit
Jew, report him
Nah, ma dads, uncles friends brother works at the F.B.I I will tell my dad how this guy was rude to me on the interwebs. And he will go to jail.
Interesting....
hey user, try 'Truth or Dare (2018)'
If you like Parasites and body horror, The Bay is an alright horror movie about Isopods.
The descent is garbage after the initial shock. Way to much monster screen time.
The ritual has the same problem, except the effects are great, the story is great and the monster's screen time is seems more natural
>The producer of Happy Death Day
I laughed my ass off 90% of the movie and the last 10% were just fucking annoying. Absolutely nothing scary about that movie, unless you're a 12yo white girl from a 1st world country
those guys were ahead of their time, now we have loads of documentary horror films, but no one seems to remember who started this genre.
I never said it was scary. This is a thread about decent horror movies, it was a decent horror movie. Way better and much more real than the first one.
Hereditary was great! The entire movie is as you said "creepy" and it isn't until the very end were they decide to use jump scares. The best part is that most of the jump scares are very predictable but also very subversive in how they happen. My favorite was a jump scare used in a dark room where you see the monster coming if you look close enough. I was watching it with my friends and I found it hilarious that we all saw the incoming monster at different moments.
Very good film
I know right? Some great artistic minds just fade away without ever getting the recognition or fame they truly deserve. Just sad parts of life I suppose.
Martyrs is pretty good. Not very talked about because it's from a small french company. But it's quite scary, in my opinion/
>film
can just call it a movie you know?
Just went completely super natural at the end, not consistent with the rest of the movie. No real point that I could see.
When i first watched Grave Encounters i made the mistake of giving too much of a shit about the characters and got immersed in the movie. Towards the end of the movie the stress almost bust out my heart (no joke). Second time i watched it it was kinda lame, but if your the sensitive type i recommend it
2008 or 2016
I recently saw "Us" on a flight. Was quite poor, I'd give it 2/5.
great movie
BORING
The entire movie was supernatural. It just had build up. The sense of hysteria and dread for the majority of the film is what made the ending so scary and abrupt.
Film, cinema, movie, literally all means the same thing
This movie
Shit I heard such good things. Care to explain without spoiling?
anybody got a camrip of Midsommar? usually the injuns got one up but the release was all fuckin selective and shit.
I already posted it
Which one is that?
nigger shit
...
Midsommer isnt horror in my opinion, its more of a thriller. It's like calling "Gat Out" a horror movie
Taking of Deborah Logan
Whack. What about story telling and general horror of it?
Dont tell me the nigger shit gets it all dirty
I found that there wasn't much tension, just going through the motions. The beginning was agonizingly slow (you can literally skip the first 30 minutes without missing anything) and the ending was just a mess with a half-hearted twist-ending
There were some good action sequences, the core idea was unique but ultimately it wasn't scary.
Not me
It's called willing suspension of disbelief. Of course that shit is fake. It's a fucking movie for God's sake. It sucks you can't enjoy some of this stuff because some of its actually pretty good. Can't deny there is a lot of hot garbage passed off as horror these days, however.
This is also a very good movie
I like it too
I honestly feel like Horror is the hardest movie genre to make. You have to not only have a good story, but relatable characters, an immersive atmosphere/aesthetic, a convincing evil and be original and not cheesey.
Shit must be tough
Awsome movie right here.
I also really enjoyed thia movie to
never said it was but thanks for reminding me how much I hate horror fans

Great movie. The sounds are spoopy as fuck.
based. most horror movies are drivel but the poughkeepsie tapes is actually interesting and even horrifying to most people. when i watched it with my girlfriend she had to leave the room like halfway through. one of the few genuinely disturbing films without being overdone on the gore aspect
Aaaaand Willow Creek.
OH MY FUCKING SCIENCE
megan is
missing
OK I got a question, I watched a movie a while ago about these girls that basically some bad shit happened to them by some other girls at a drunken party or some shit fast forward the girls invite the other girls to some haunted house thing and basically end up torturing them and shit for what they did, anyone know what the hell I'm talking about?
twilight?
what?
A pretty decent horror movie set in the old West.
There's one scene in particular that's a real mind-fuck.
>1920's england
>woman not in kitchen
all immersion gone.
Watch The Thing, It Follows, the remake of the Evil Dead, May, The Exorcist, Jacob’s Ladder, and You’re Next. Also if you want hilariously shockingly disgusting shit all in the form of a film, watch The Greasy Strangler.
