Something that came to mind in a previous thread when I was explaining pillowfluffs to someone was to have an owner discover through watching his safe room camera footage that pillowfluffs are actually depressed and unhappy when out of the owner's presence. This leads the owner to conduct his own investigation as to whether or not fluffies actually have real emotions instead of the programmed responses as Hasbio has led us to believe. The logical conclusion would be for the US Supreme Court to reopen the case in which they declared fluffies as biotoys and to decide whether or not they should be given animal rights protections.

(This won't be popular with the murderboner crowd BTW so before you get into it...)

I have an idea where a researcher tries to find out if fluffies are actually "programmed" to know English, and finds out that when raised in isolation, they create their own mush-mouthed language with peeping, chirping, grunting, and other strange noises that's more like caveman speech if anything

The problem with that is that ferals raised without humans still develop Fluffspeak. It's pretty much canon that it's genetically programmed into them. The only reason they chirp and squeak for the first few weeks after birth is because the speech center of their brain hasn't developed enough yet. The reason they revert back to chirping when severely traumatized is because their brain is overloaded by pain or fear.

Human beings also have significantly greater neural capacity, and are noted to form consistent shared communication systems. They make languages with each other, but certain things are ingrained. The most obvious example is something like smiling. You can recognize basic emotional cues across cultures and languages, because they are rooted in the biology.

This actually brings up another point though: Are these "fluffies" actually intelligent as we understand it, or are the things they say just programmed chaff, like a chat bot trying to scam thirsty boys on tinder?

Regardless my original point isn't exactly refuted. If you isolate a group of people from birth they aren't gonna start speaking Mandarin once they're able to. My headcanon is that the language centers of a fluffy's brain is overdeveloped, lending them the ability to understand a language like English in simple terms rather well. Hence my original idea of sticking them in isolation to see what happens. They could make their own retardese language.

There's a story somewhere from a fluffy's point of view about being isolated as part of a science experiment. Eventually it gets tested and fails a bunch of intelligence tests for solving a maze, puzzles, etc and gets thrown away into an incinerator with the other lab subjects that were part of the isolation group.

-A human is playing with a fluffy on a table, when hits pager goes off and alerts him to firefighter duty and he has to run, leaving the fluffy on the table. The story is about how the fluffy waits for its daddy to come back, playing on the table until its toys fall off, eating some bread crumbs, and trying to hold back bad poopies. How this ends is really up to the author.

-A short story about an owner letting his curious fluffy try his coffee, starting with intense hyperactivity and ending with a tearful visit to the litterbox.

-"What mommies and daddies do?" An educative FluffTV show where fluffies learn why their owners leave them alone for the day by getting to do their jobs for a day. Episodes include stuff like mail carrying (pulling a cart while wearing an uniform) and office work (put papers with star in pink folder, put papers with square in red folder), and always end with the fluffies telling how exhausting the day was and how much they love their owners for doing this for them.

-A barber feeds fluffies in exchange of getting to practice on them, leading to the most fabulously styled herd in history.

-Fluffy has gotten its head stuck in the reflex tube of big speakerbox, pleading "Pwease mistew Scwiwwex, nu mowe noisies! Heaw-pwaces haf huwties!"

A fluffy is in court as an eyewitness, describing the brutal murder of its friend. The prosecutor and the attorney go back and forth, asking for more details and looking for incongruencies in the fluffies story. Finally it is shown that it's just a bunch of kids playing court.

A group of kindhearted fluffy-aid volunteers try to help with the feral population control in a humane way by sharing fluffies small cups of sketti and then castrating them before letting them go.

A litterbox of ground-up glass shards.

Stuffing fluffies anus with greedy amounts of drugs is an excellent reason for a non-abuser to shove painful things up their asses.

A story about a fluffy that has gotten pregnant against daddehs wishes. Daddy pretends he doesn't notice the fluffy swelling, and pretends not to know the mummah is hiding babbehs.

A fluffy finds a hole in a wall and accidentally falls in. Cue "Rescue 911" -style episode about humans working to get the fluffy out. Preferably told from the view of the scared fluffy that doesn't understand what's going on.

I've had an idea for teaching a fluffy to think huggies are bad and hurties are good too. It would be about a human buying a very young foal, and throughout its life rewarding it by nudging it in the shoulder like a bro, slowly and gradually hitting harder and harder but always doing it with praise and good spirit. And for punishment, he would just hold the fluffy in a hug while coldly and spitefully talking about how much he hates the fluffy for doing what it's punished for and muttering of all the terrible ways he should be flaying and killing it.

Honestly, there never was any question about whether fluffies have real emotions or not. The "biotoy" label was slapped on them just as an excuse for people to ignore them and their plight. fluffies don't enter the wan die state that easily. it takes a long time to break a fluffy like that. the wan die phase is the last phase in fluffy psychological break-down. when a fluffy says wan die, almost nothing will bring it back and its really just best to put it out of its misery at that point. point being, it takes quite a lot for a fluffy to enter the "wan die" phase.

Ah right, most of my learning has been from the likes of RingOfFire and he used that a fair bit without them actually being put out of their misery.

I've been developing an outline for a cyberpunk universe fluffy story which is meant to be like a Philip K Dick/Asimov exploration of the morality and ethics of creating a biologically based 'toy' which achieves sentience. Lurking through the woods into the backyard of a comfy residential home, a smarty with a tan coat and orange mane was having a muted exchange of words with his toughie entourage.

"Munch stiww nu tink dis am gud idea." complained the purple and jet black toughie on the left.

"Smawty knu wha' am doin'." the smarty growled back. They were on the edge of the property now. Their mark would be noticing them soon.

"Wha' fwuffies s'posed ta do if dis nu wowk?" said the opposing toughie, named Twig for his brown and dark green coloration.

"Dat nu gonna happen! Smawty knu wha' am doin', noting bad gon happen, jus' watch!" the smarty bayed. There was a rustling sound coming from the front of the home. It was time. The toughies looked each other in the eyes. There was the unsaid understanding that if this went south, they were going to book it. There was no use in wasting their lives over something so dumb.

The rustling sound made its way to the backyard, traveling up the side of the house. A couple dozen feet away was a German Shepard, it's tongue lolling out from its mouth as it panted and searched for the fluffies, before finally setting eyes on them and charging. The smarty puffed his checks up and reared back, but did nothing else as the dog got closer and closer. Just when Twig and Munch were about to turn tail and leave the smarty to his fate, the smarty spoke.

"STAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHP!" And just like that, the dog skidded to a halt. The two toughies nearly dropped their jaws in shock. The smarty just smirked. The plan was working. Wanting to flex his control over the dog a bit more, he spouted off some random commands that he had learned from observing humans.

"Sit!" and the dog sat, "Woww oba!", and the dog pushed itself on its backside and then rolled onto its stomach, "Stand!" and the dog stood on all fours. The smarty began to laugh a mad laugh, an ugly cackle that sent shivers down the spines of the two toughies.

"Smawty TOWD 'ou it wowk! See? Smawy hab a bawky-munstah nao! Hee hee hee!" He commanded the dog to lie down, and crawled his way onto its back. "Dis way, bawky-munstah!" he said, pointing his hoof back into the woods where they had came from. The dog started to dash in, and the smarty nearly lost his balance, hanging off the dog's side while shouting "TOO FAST! TOO FAST!". Munch and Twig stared in the direction the smarty and his new canine companion had darted off to for a moment, still in minor shock over the whole course of events, before following along.

Hours later a certain Dylan Harris came home from school, wanting to unwind with a quick cigarette before getting into any homework, or playing some video games. Walking out into the backyard to keep his parents from noticing, he lit up the Marlboro and took a few drags. He couldn't shake the notion that something was...off. He looked to his left at the backyard's doghouse.

"Sparky?" he asked into the open air. But the dog did not come out. He walked over and peered into the doghouse, to find it void of his pet.

"Sparky?" he called out again, his voice taking on a more frantic tone. "Sparky! Come on out boy! Sparky? Sparky!" he shouted out over and over. As it began to dawn on him that Sparky might actually be gone, he felt helpless and alone, like a child that's gotten lost in the mall and can't find their parents. He would spend a great deal of time shouting and calling that night, to no avail.

why won't anyone try my idea of feral foal traps that vary wildly in design and function?. I can't draw for shit so it would not be good if I did it. I'm thinking like a trap no bigger than a basketball that's transparent you place in your garden, and when a foal goes in, it gets pillowed by a spring loaded blade.

I thought of one called a herd killer that is placed somewhere on a property, it's sectioned off but allows for a herd to pass through the barrier, but they're dropped into a pit and simply left to die with no way out. The more portable traps could contain poison, gas, or be self containing and be thrown in the garbage when a handful have been caught.

They quite literally know certain words and phrases by instinct or whatever you want to call it- "mummah", "daddeh", "bestest"/"worstest", "upsies", "fowebah sweepies", "speciaw huggies", etc. Pretty much all of these are cutesy conversions from standard english, or euphemisms for the benefit a child owner, neither of which they'd always learn from their parents alone or say just because of their speech impediment. Granted, fluffies were never supposed to be breeding outside a Hasbio facility either, so we could rewrite canon to say that instead of being programmed, they were meant to be taught these words in pre-sale training. But that's already straying pretty fucking far from what makes fluffies, fluffies- their unnatural-ness and having minimum-cost corporate manufacture ingrained in their very being is vital to them being so gross and abusable.

But you know, I guess it could be an interesting concept to explore if their programming covered *only* these specific, unique phrases.
