So why do people still believe in Christianity?
A first year philosophy student could put 2 and 2 together and realize it's all bullshit

People like easy answers
A first year Phil couldn't change a lightglobe without a manual or an accident. Go listen to the antichrist tell you how cool you are if you like it so much. Look at the faces around with the soul snuffed out. Ask yourself if having balls instead of bullshit made Christ stupid or smart seeing as he'll be remembered as a hero, and the vaccum preaching nothingness to you wont. People will have less inhibition from a hero, and they'll be more. Easy way to tell if something is or isn't on your side.
4th year is more fucked than a 1st year Phil. Don't watch the show. Don't be in the show. Make the world snow your sayings.
Stay brainwashed kiddo
Christ has died
Christ is risen
Christ will come again in glory
because if you're atheist muslims will jump you in an alley and rape your relatives
Because it's been so ingrained in society that it's difficult for people to see it's not logically necessary anymore.
I love how preachy and pompous philosophy majors are. All the physics and engineering majors laugh at you when you walk away lol.
>we evolved from ROCKS
>also those rocks created themselves
Atheist logic in the year of our Lord Jesus Christ 2019
Abrahamic religions suck ass.
Proselytizing in Yea Forums makes very little sense
Miracles
After viewing the trap threads you come here to save us?
Is Jesus coming soon?
What I find funny is there's proof of stars older than the universe but they still believe in this explosion theory.
Not him but I'll answer you anyway knowing it's bait.
I don't look at trap threads personally.
Soon? Maybe in 15 or so years. A lot has to happen still. Not knowing the Bible is what makes their arguments seem stupid.
Only Jesus saves. It's your choice. If you burn then it's entirely on you.
Fear of death. That's why religion will never die. Humans will not relinquish their ancient superstitions.
I'm not afraid to die. Fear of death isn't what lead to my conclusion. You sound like the homos "you don't like our way of life you must secretly be afraid of us homophobe! It means you want to fuck us!" If you're going to make an argument please find a better one based on facts.
Man created god. A much better explanation of life than your almighty creator who does nothing.
Childhood indoctrination.
This is the dumbest shit I've ever heard. Rocks have nothing to do with the evolution of organic life.
Did you even take biology in highschool?
He does nothing for you because of your lack of faith. You do nothing for him and he'll do nothing for you. Your circular logic is really funny. Newsflash, the universe doesn't revolve around you and in less than 100 years you will cease to matter.
All religions are bullshit and are a means of control. You don’t need an institution to be in touch with the spiritual world.
Did I say you? People convert to avoid hell and the fear of death that goes with it.
Any moron can realize it's use. We need it now more than ever to teach the masses basic self control and morality. Do you have any idea what true christians would do if they ever saw the sea of cuck porn that's everywhere right now? You're all getting crucified you fucks.Unfortunately our current pope is the max cuck, settling for displays such as kissing the enemy's feet and what not. Christianity is dead and it's teachings and importance are irrelevant in 2019
Cite proof, I’d like to see that.
My priest tells me that Christ's death and His erection are signs that God loves us all. Christ will come again and cover us all in Glory. So every day, I get down on my knees and prepare myself to receive the blessing of my priest.
>first year philosophy student
Stopped reading right there.
He does nothing for anyone. All nonexistent deities have that problem.
You do realize the majority of students in your typical philosophy class DO lose their religion, once they're given a basic ability to critically think
Hol' up, you mean the church isnt doing this because they're trying to better society? THEY MAKE MONEY? IS THEY A BUSINESS IN THE MARKET OF HUMAN EQUITY? Better keep those children in line and spread our word of male/female love and child assault. It's okay though, we only discriminate because skydaddy said its okay
So I have to beg god to spare me from all the horrible things god will do to me if I don't love god?
Your god sounds like an angry vindictive little man, not a spirit of love - no wonder I don't care for your god.
Parents pass their beliefs down to their children very early on.
When something is hammered into your thought process as a child, it becomes a part of you and it's hard to grow out of it. Trying to believe anything else could shatter their world. It's not impossible, but it's very difficult.
When those Christian kids grow up and have their own kids, Christianity persists -- nowadays, Christianity continues to exist almost purely because of inheritance, if I had to guess. People don't really become Christians as adults anymore.
Again, I don't fear hell. Fear was never a factor. Honestly for a lot of converts, fear of hell or anything for that matter never came into the picture until much later. How do you fear that which you don't believe exists in the first place? Do you fear hell being an atheist? When I was an atheist I know I didn't. What converted me was witnessing miracle after miracle. I honestly pray for miracles to happen for you. Unlike these other cucks I sincerely hope to see you in eternity. I really do want as many friends in eternity like you.
What creates atheism is one or multiple of the following:
Homosexuality is a sin and gays get offended.
Being hurt by the church because of some douchebags power trip. They'll burn in hell for their insolence.
Simply following logic without ever having had an encounter with their creator.
It's the last point here in I have hopes of reaching people.
Well it's more than that. It takes true repentance and change. It's not just a one time decision, but a daily walk in truth. If you don't like the facts and you're using that as your basis for your unbelief, then I really don't care what happens to you. Sorry there's laws to follow. If you follow the set rules then you'll be fine, if not you go to prison, in this case hell.
2+2 doesn't equal bullshit though
I think they're actually afraid of the truth and they close their eyes, stick fingers in their ears going "blah blah blah we can't hear you. Let's keep ignoring facts maybe they'll go away" atheists are funny that way.
Hope - some people who live shitty lives need the promise of an eternity of paradise to make sense of the unfortunate life they’ve been given or chosen. (My life sucks now but knowing I have an eternal award in heaven waiting for me makes me feel a little better)
The unknown: primitive humans had no idea of plate tectonics, so they contributed earthquakes to some gods, that was the best way they could reason with things they couldn’t explain. Science has gone on to explain many things, except what happens after death. Because science hasn’t proven this yet, people cling to the primitive coping mechanism, which is faith.
Tradition and culture: like it or not, tradition is a reason why people believe. Certain people in certain parts of the world all vary in their religious beliefs, but their beliefs have been carried on in their culture and traditions for generations. It happens.
Miracles? Prayer? Now you really sound like a complete buffoon. Nothing fails like prayer, so keep your prayers to yourself. Ever notice nothing supernatural ever takes place in reality, only in your addled mind?
Eternal life is a perk not the reason. You make so many assumptions.
And you wonder why you never experience miracles? Funny.
Can't say we didn't warn youon judgement day. Bbbbut God you never did anything for me! Waaaaah nooooooo.... Don't send me away please....
Any smart person can see the logic and use of religion aswell as its importance
I want Jesus to come all over my face
To all the atheists, I have a few questions. I'm not asking in a trolly fashion.
1 what has atheism done for you personally?
2 does it bring you confort thinking that death is truly the end of you?
3 other than baiting arguments, and you bring it up more then Christians bring up the Lord, why bring it up at all if you're so convinced that there is no God? I never bring things I don't believe in up in any conversation. For example, and I'm only bringing this up to make a point here, the Earth is round, it's a fact of life. Saying the Earth is flat is autistic in my view. I'll answer these morons the same way I'm answering you. We have all this proof but, like the flattards, you ignore it.
>But you didn't provide proof.
I said miracles happen for me on a personal level. You're unwilling to accept that. You can experience them as well but you reject it. How then can I provide proof for you? Seriously miracles is the way our God proves his existence. He's not going to change that to try proving himself to a few neck beard fedora wearing spergs who wouldn't understand a miracle if it happened right in front of their own eyes.
based
1/ and 2/
Yes, it has given me a sense of acceptance, I'll have an end just like I've had a beginning. What is the point of being alive for 80-something years if the soul is going to be in a state of everlasting bliss anyway
3/ You're the one bringing this shit up and asking for replies
I'm glad miracles happen for you, but not for the people who will be killed, raped, injured or who will starve to death today. Maybe they are unworthy?
I don't want you to prove anything, I don't expect you to give an authoritative answer to shit on my mind. BTW I'm not truly a hardline atheist, I don't rule out the possibility there may be a godly being so I'm just skeptical about religion
On the earth are signs for those of assured Faith, - {Koran 51:20}
1. Nothing. Religion hasn't either. They're the same in that regard.
2. Not really, but I think it's better in the long run that I come to terms with my own mortality rather than cling onto some vain hope of escaping it out of fear.
3. Personally, I don't bring it up unless it comes up (like, say, someone asks me "yo do you go to church?" or something like that).
>miracles is the way our god proves his existence
>he's not going to change that by proving himself to [expletives] who wouldn't understand a miracle if it happened in front of their own eyes
Being all-knowing and all-powerful, he knows exactly what miracles would convince anyone and everyone of his existence and is able to do them. Being omnibenevolent, he wouldn't want anyone to go to Hell, and so would have a vested interest in revealing himself to us all. Why doesn't he?
What is atheism doing for me? Nothing, because it's not supposed to do anything for anyone. I never think about it until I come across a goofy thread like this one. I want death to be the end of me. No thought, no consciousness, this is very appealing to my way of thinking. As I've said, I have no god need - that ship sailed long ago. I'm done with you now as you have no new insight as to the existence of god.
Believing is easier than thinking, hence more believers than thinkers.
Hitler had the right idea, he was just an underachiever! Kill em all.
