Scott Pilgrim is the worst fucking movie I have ever seen.

Imagine you're a father and you get a phone call. It's from the hospital, your 12 year old daughter, your only child has been savagely raped and suffered extensive injuries. You drive there in a matter of minutes, breaking every speed limit on your way. Her whole body is bruised, arms and legs broken, hair pulled out in chunks, face swollen and bloody - just fucking disfigured beyond belief. She'll survive, but she's going to look like a goblin. She'll never walk, she'll never again be called "pretty" by anyone other than people feigning fake sympathy for attention. You don't want to admit it, you are disgusted as a father to even have this thought - but she's pretty much ruined. You would've subconsciously preferred her to not survive that encounter. She'd always be your little girl. The one with the warm smile and freckles on her nose, the one who blew her birthday candles out with enthusiasm that only a child that still believed in magic birthday wishes could possess. But now she's a fucked up meat caricature, a specimen of bodyhorror. Her life is ruined, which means yours is as well.

Now imagine you found the rapist. You're in a barely lit basement, standing there with a lead pipe in your hands, while that sick fuck is on his knees, pleading for mercy. You look at him, you see his bald head, his fucked up, rotted teeth, his disgusting, frail body. He's so fucking ugly that you're sure God himself would reward you for caving this man's skull in. He's so cartoonishly dumb looking that you can be completely assured you'll never feel remorse. You'll never again be as satisfied as when that man's teeth fall on the floor and blood spills out of his mouth. You take a swing and start absolutely wailing with passion that you never thought yourself capable of.

The man with the lead pipe is me and the rapist is chiptune music and pixel avatars. Fuck Scott Pilgrim, fuck Michael Cera's dumb rodent face.

Yeah, you're not a father and never will be, I hope. In the case you describe, with my actual daughter, her looks would be the least of my concerns and i would be eternally thankful that she was alive. Don't get me wrong, I'd still kill the guy as slowly and creatively as possible, but not because her made her physically less attractive.

Also, why the Scott Pilgrim hate? I thought they adapted the comic pretty well.
