Can confirm, japs are very wholesome.
Happy for you OP. I'll check out that band myself later
If you like Casiopea check out the other big jazz fusion band in japan, T-Square. Both bands are great for relaxing chill music, but T-Square has some pretty great driving (not racing) music. Perfect for a Sunday drive.
Japanese "service" is fantastic. It's quite common to get little extras when buying stuff here (especially eBay type sellers). These came freewhen I went out drinking last weekend.
What kind of tea was it? You might be able to find it in an Asian grocery near you.
pretty well all tea in japan is grown for japanese consumption, so unlikely if it was any kind of nice stuff
If you have the package still I can probably track it down for you
>Charles Mingus - Goodbye Pork Pie Hat
Sax like what I could only assume sex is like
These guys are like the Japanese Phish
That conscientiousness is why Japan can have nice stuff
Japan really is beautiful, and so are its people for the most part.
It does take a huge shitload of work and mental effort to participate properly and not drag everyone else down tho
Double edged sword, but I'd take it over shitty attitudes and "Fuck everyone else" assholes any day
That's a good part of why I chose to live here: people always do their best. The thought of lazily half-assing something just does not seem to occur to them.
Right now, everyone is busting their asses for the 竿燈 festival.
my cousin works for a video game company in japan because he's always been a huge weeb and they treat him like absolute shit
no japanese girl will waifu him
all his employees are completely autist shutins
he gets passed over for promotions all the time and the president of the company won't listen to him when he tries to tell him that all his employees are autistic and probably shouldn't be treated like normal jap workingmen
but they treat him better than his japanese american friend, the japanese loathe anyone who has become americanized
the japs are very, very good at racism
Goddamnit, I fucking love those damn seagull eggs... Fuck this fucking diet.
imagine just now having discovered Casiopea
If he hasn't shot up his workplace yet, just how Americanized can he really be?
Sweet Jesus, they are like mouth orgasms, but I can have exactly one before my head explodes
諄い!
well the japanese american friend he met during an ESL program, the japanese american guy moved back to the states pretty quickly
Maybe your cuz just ended up in a bad company, maybe he's just nothing special.
My wife (white Canadian) got tenure at a Jap uni in four years, but she does work her cute ass off.
Wait, when you write "Japanese American", you mean born and raised in the US? Holy shitm yeah, they have it rough here, since they're expected to understand all the cultural nuances which are normally forgiven more obvious foreigners, but of course they were not raised here and so don't.
Yeah, they're a special case.
Not entirely true. Hmart and some mom and pops Asian groceries often sell imported tea. The one near my parents' house has oolong, buckwheat/soba, and genmai, along with standard green tea.
Cold buckwheat tea in the summer is very refreshing.
Same. Enjoyed some 花火 from our balcony last night. 1 solid hour of amazing fireworks. Munched on some 焼き鳥 and お好み焼き and drank a bottle of 日本酒. It was great.
Where you at, bro?
aint this the truth
america : I will do exactly as little work as I can get away with, regardless of pay, but guaranteed I will do a shit job if the pay is bad
japan : I will do my utmost to fulfill the duties precisely as defined in my job description without deviation and will also attempt to become as efficient and professional as possible at it, even if all I'm doing is pumping gas
One day I watched a window washer spend a good hour slowly teaching his apprentice the precise way to perfectly wash a particular kind of window...in america they'd do the sloppiest job they could get away with and move on
Holy shiiit OP I fucking love this music. I’d heard shit like this before in games like gran tourism’s never knew it was actually a genre of fusion jazz. Total lounging and smoking music btw. Thank u for that btw ur faggy recommendations aren’t so faggy after all.
>Is this why y’all love weeb shit? That was one of the nicer evenings in my life.
One of the reasons, sure. I ordered some Famicom games from Japan a while back, got an origami ninja star with a thank you note attached that had a little ninja dude drawn on it. Pretty common when ordering straight from Japan.
The Japanese take pride in themselves and love that other people are interested in Japan. They always go out of their way to make a good impression.
Also, an actual non-shit thread on Yea Forums? What year is this?
i just sampled it on youtube. lame post-disco funk. it's so generic, it might as well be muzak and not even trippy enough to please as easy listening.
i used to smoke weed and listen to trippy ass easy listening on an FM radio in a fucking station wagon after getting a cheap bag so i'd get a head start before i got a video from blockbuster and go home to my room in my parent's house and get even more stoned and drop LSD before watching the movie and then listen to really trippy electronic. i know good disco and i can appreciate herbie hancock - future shock which transitions from disco to funk to move away from it. this is... just lame. i don't expect much from japanese. they can be brilliant in very simple ways and this was too little too late (1982).
千葉 (Chiba).
A few stations from Funabashi.
Here's my holy-fuck-they-take-shit-seriously story:
I was vacationing in Kagoshima after finishing a huge translation project, and had bought some snacks and drinks at a konbini. I put my headphones on and walked two large city blocks back toward my hotel when I had to stop at a crosswalk.
At that moment, the konbini clerk whom I'd paid for my purchases appeared before me, breathless, as he'd chased me down those two blocks to return the money he'd accidentally short-changed me:
Two. Yen.
Two fucking pennies, basically.
Yeah, I don't count my change here too carefully.
Cool. Akita here. Got pic related going on right now.
Nice choice. Funabashi is probably the best location in all of Japan for being convenient but not retarded for rent. Lots of amenities and quick connections to Tokyo
I just got back from a month in 九十九里町. Gained 7kg. Goddamn the food is unbelievable.
Good for you, OP. I'm happy for you.
I'm a bit jealous... It's hot as fuck in kanto this weekend. I'm sure akita is pretty toasty, too, but it couldn't be as bad as kanto.
One of my favorite 日本酒 is from Akita. Mansaku no hana, HoshiAkari. Great stuff. Blank Yellow label with a star in the corner.
Yeah. Wifey is from this area (yachiyo), so it made sense. Low rent, easy access, as you said.
Kujukuri is kickass. Killer seafood. Cool surfer/beach folks, who are a bit more laid back than tokyoites.
Were headed to Izu for an overnight onsen during Obon. Can't wait to eat that awesome ryokan food!
