Because you have to find the right ssri for you, also, it’s like adderal, if you take it and don’t need it it has the reverse effect most times. So and ssri could actually make you extremely sad. I actually ended up going to the mental ward because the ssri I was on made me so insanely low that I was considering suicide. Mind you I’d already attempted twice a few years before.
Same guy here, I’m on Prozac now and it’s worked wonders for me. Just got to take the right one, you’ll be good. Keep an eye on yourself and take your mental health just as serious now as you did before being on medication.
Are you a trump supporter?
because they don't work. ssri's should be used as a last resort because we still don't even understand how they work. some work for some people, some have the opposite effect. they are a pretty shitty way to deal with depression to be honest
Your doctor is just collecting that fat check from your insurance.
I bet they drive a nice car.
All psych meds have been proven to be no more effective than placebo.
actually true
No i live in the Netherlands
Increased of serotonin in the brain i thought?
depression isn't always caused by chemicals in the brain. there are environmental factors that are just as important. your thoughts also effect your mood.
if you are depressed just figure out what is causing your depression and if you are doing everything right (exercise, friends, good job) then try antidepressants as a last resort. they are overprescribed as a way to make money
Are you gonna live stream it or just begging for attention?
It really only has that side effect on teens and young adults who's brain is still developing. How old are you op
19
Maybe Some day, the rope is ready
just remember that doctors and hospitals are a business. don't trust them when it comes to your health because they care more about money than they do about you. you have to do what's best for you and if you do everything you can for yourself use them as a last resort
maybe but you need something for the start if you are so down that you even do not go out to do some sport to product some bodies own hormones. That's why people should visit a doctor that knows what can or should be done the pill itself only give you a kick into the right direction the rest should be the "
work"
of the patient some need a workout some need a long talks with another person etc.
For OP on some of them can make you high and over dosses can make a person "mad"
more unstable as he/she was before that's why the dosses is related to the age, sex and body mass mostly standard are so made that people should use only one pill at a day but i m not you dr
to know it firsthand.
Oh yeah then you are in that age range.
Teens and young adults have a higher risk of suicidal thoughts and idealation while on anti depressants. If you are worried consult with your Doctor.
I personally hate SSRIs the withdrawals are terrible and when you are on them they kill all emotions.
pills should only be used as a last resort and therapy should only be used if you have no friends or family. both are a business and should not cost money if they really work
this side effect might manifest after withdrawal of the drug, due to compensatory mechanisms in the brain that might precipitate an acute serotonin deficiency if the medication is stopped abruptly. make sure to decrease the dosage gradually before withdrawing, so as to minimize side effects.
also: make sure not to pay too much attention to the children and semi-informed adults on here. remember, where you are. i'm a neuroscientist, for what it's worth. take care and good luck.
you still don't even understand how ssri's work in the brain. they just sometimes work and sometimes don't. bunch of placebo bullshit. keep ripping people off
This. It's like shooting a rubik's cube with a shotgun and expecting it to get solved.
That was the theory, but studies actually disproved the whole "chemical imbalance" thing a long time ago. The meds do change the levels, but only until the body levels them out again.
fucking based. fuck all these biased doctors that just care about money
