That's a camera. Smoke detectors are closed on top with holes around them for smoke slip into and trigger it.

Wank with all the confidence in thr world. And im serious, not trolling. If youre that worried. Get up there and cover it in some tape. Preferably dark tape (obviously) but even scotch tape would blur the view
