Today was my first day off in the last month or so and I spent much of the day learning to draw
I believe I learned how to draw bodies pretty well, I think I'll work on learning faces tomoro.

I havent decided on a name yet, I was thinking Dominic, but it will be different I'm sure. I'll just call him the Raven King, because that is what most people in the setting would call him.
He from the very beginning, was very brooding, and introverted, always in his own head thinking of scemes to get ahead, to further his goals.
ruthless and willing to go to any means to get what he wants, but doing it for the right reasons. He is an idealist who sees a concrete moral code, as an unessesary obstacle towards the ideals he want to achieve. He is not amoral he feels guilty about what he does, but believe that lofty enough goals can justify any means of enacting them.
As he grows older, and more competent, he manages to wrest control of a small county, his father once held a claim to. With real monarchacle power within his grasp he conceives of a scheme give his people a place they can call home(a dream beyond anything he had ever dared to imagine).

He rejoins with old friends, and forms new ones, eventually meets with the protagonist for the first time in years, and she with lofty goals of her own does all she can to help him.
But as extent of the evil he must do, to make his dream a reality, begins to ramp up, he stops being honest with himself about what he really wants.
His goals begin to escape him, they become more and more unreachable, and unreasonable. By the end he is attempting to fight against the world itself and finds a means to truly be a threat to it.
And it is all because the ends he used to justify his means, never truly could. Every backstab, every betrayal he believes he must do; the result always leads to more betrayal and backstabbing. The peace he sought to bring about would never come and he is unable to accept that. He lies to himself that there is some end that makes it all worth it.
By this point he has betrayed the trust of everyone he once cared for, and feels betrayed by the protagonist for abandoning the dream he had that she once believed in.

oh, from the very beginning you can tell he is gonna be a problem, but it's justified, super nice, the ones with motives you can understand are the best villains, i guess

so he really is gonna be just lost in what he has done and needs to do
i like how we will be able to see him descend into complete madness
i say it all sounds very promising, all you need is proper careful execution which should be also interesting to do

He wants to make a home for the other people with the same curse that he does. He manages to get a small principality, with very little power under constant threat. Once he declares that he is making a homeland for the Raven Born, he is immediately the target of every noble with lofty ambitions within the empire. Noone want the Cursed ones to concentrate their power, even small forces of them can defeat human forces then times their size.
Basically he has to manieve his way through a complex political game to manage to keep the land that he has. And with the constant threat around him he needs more resources to counter his enemies.
So he begins a great campaign along with the protagonist to conquer the nations that threaten him and his people. ( going for a sort of Napoleon/Alexamder the great vibe)
He ends up seeing himself as the one and only saviour of the Raven born, and slips into the beginning of his decent into madness

who are those Cursed Ones? what makes them so different? are they not human?
yeah, looks like he will have to deal with a lot of pressure, and we need to see how all that pressure changes him
so, in the end he will be just very exhausted and worn-out, right? with all the betrayals and wars, just a shadow of his former self
will he just ask the protagonist to kill him without putting up a fight?

The Raven Born have a Curse that makes them bloodthirsty monsters, that must consume humans to survive.
There are very few of them, but all of them are superhuman, in their strength, speed, and resilience. Because of their superhuman abilities they are the ideal soldiers. so the human societies hire them as mercenaries, and even sometimes bring them into their standing armies to be commanders, and Generals. They are only welcome on the battlefield, if they are found within cities, or towns they will be killed, or captured to be enslaved warriors.
Many of the Raven Born just accept their lot in life as cannon fodder, but Skyler, and Dominick ( due to past experiences ) want to make a place where they are not persecuted, and live their lives as peacefully as they can. With this common goal both try to make a home for their people, but the ways they go about doing so puts them on completely different paths.
By the end Skyler realizes the biggest obstical to the peaceful home she wishes to create is Dominic himself, so she betrays him.
