I havent decided on a name yet I was thinking Dominic, but I think I could find something better.
Either way I'll just call him the Raven King, because that is what most people in the setting would call him.
He from the very beginning, was very brooding, and introverted, always in his own head thinking of scemes to get ahead, to further his goals.
ruthless and willing to go to any means to get what he wants, but doing it for the right reasons. He is an idealist who sees a concrete moral code, as an unessesary obstacle towards the ideals he want to achieve. He is not amoral he feels guilty about what he does, but believe that lofty enough goals can justify any means of enacting them.

As he grows older, and more competent, he manages to wrest control of a small county, his father once held a claim to. With real monarchacle power within his grasp he conceives of a scheme give his people a place they can call home(a dream beyond anything he had ever dared to imagine).
He rejoins with old friends, and forms new ones, eventually meets with the protagonist for the first time in years, and she with lofty goals of her own does all she can to help him.
But as extent of the evil he must do, to make his dream a reality, begins to ramp up, he stops being honest with himself about what he really wants.
His goals begin to escape him, they become more and more unreachable, and unreasonable. By the end he is attempting to fight against the world itself and finds a means to truly be a threat to it.
And it is all because the ends he used to justify his means, never truly could. Every backstab, every betrayal he believes he must do; the result always leads to more betrayal and backstabbing. The peace he sought to bring about would never come and he is unable to accept that. He lies to himself that there is some end that makes it all worth it.
By this point he has betrayed the trust of everyone he once trusted, and feels betrayed by the protagonist for abandoning the dream she once believed in.

My protagonist is also somebody who is broken and torn apart by the choices she has to make, but ends up finding a just cause to fight for that leads to her redemtion.

the last one is good, interesting, i cant remember most of it though.
anyway once i get high level i usually play my character as a wandering god, who takes literally nothing from anyone, i do what i want. so when a guy asks me to do a thing, and i dont want to, he usually winds up dead.
which ruins a lot of stuff. but i like it, its fun to me :)
