It’s a great show, my favorite character designer (best work is in Golden Boy though), legendary OST, great direction, etc.
Somewhat losing legendary status because newfags don’t watch episodic shows as much, they want plot heavy stuff, but to me it’s still essential viewing.

I'm looking for a good science fiction or fantasy series, preferably with a nice, complete story and mature themes without becoming 2deep4u like Eva. My favorite anime are unironically Fullmetal Alchemist (both of them) and Gurren Lagann.
