I am a bit depressed recently. All of my Family (Grandma,Uncle, both grandpas, and one greatgrandpa) died because of alcoholism. That`s why when i feel down i will not drink at all, or it will get me too. so i just drink water

lol I love bulleit, but would recommend the opposite if yuo are going to save a few bucks. Go evan Williams. The quality is practically on par with Beam for half the price.

it's the better bang for buck bourbon I've found, but my bottle cork broke the other day so I had to transfer it into a spare bottle I had lying around. Wish they quit with the corks

Elijah Craig is a good starter. Then try Four Roses (not my favorite, but popular) Bulleit is solid as well as Makers Mark. Woodford Reserve is a step up. You will probably love Buffalo Trace if you can get your hands on it. If you can get your Hands on Blantons buy it. Even if you hate it guests will be happy to try some (you wont hate it).

What IPAs? I am loving the New England/Hazy Style IPA. Right now stuck on Toppling Goliath Scorpius Morchella or King Sue, and Rogues Batsquatch is great

Wild Turkey is a great "get the job done" Bourbon IMO. ESPECIALLY 101. ITs not my favorite overallm especially at the price point, unless you get there RYE. The Wild Turkey Rye dominates at its price

Beam is a tough drink straight. Good mixer for Coke, really helps the vanilla undertones in Coke. There are better bottles for sipping.

Its decent. It's "allocated" (i.e. artificially induced as rare) but its inexpensive so it is worth getting when you can. very decent anda great bourbon to break out.

I find it kinda harsh on the throat and syrupy in taste. With Jack I'll take Gentleman over the usual black No 7 if drinking straight.

yeah, I think Buffalo is less than $40 US in Oklahoma. Each state has different liquor taxes so prices are extremely variable by state. I hear Arizona is a great place to by liquor due to practically nonexistant taxation. (just to be clear when I say bottle I am typically referencing 750ml bottles)

Damn son! The Makers might be at an acceptable price, but fuck paying that much for Jim Beam. Jim Beam is just massively commercialized and not really worth its pricepoint imho. Typically you can find a bourbon at half the price to do the same job. Frankly though alot of the value of liquor (especially american whiskeys) is just due to marketing and not necesarily quality. So dont hesitate to try something you never heard of and it will likely be more to your taste AND your budget.

Yeah since swedistan has an alcohol monopoly the only way to get cheap liqour is to head to down either denmark's or germany's bordershop and stock up on stuff
