Its closely monitored and guards will be around often. The food is going to be awful and you'll have to get used to shitting and showering in front of men.

I don’t drive any different than how a normal, skilled everyday driver drives everyday. With a high tolerance THC has shown to not impair driving. Where I work every driver has gotten into some type of accident and that’s being sober. I’m on dabs everyday and I drive like a champ.

You don't have much to worry about. Believe it or not, there's a difference between jails an prisons. Jails are mostly for short term stays, a year or less. While prisons are for more long term, 1 year plus, offenders. Most jails have people who are in for dumb stuff like what you did, and will behave themselves because they don't want to have more time added, or worse, be sent off to a prison. So you typically won't see "fuck you in the shower Leroy" in places like that. Keep to yourself, don't be dumb, stay out of trouble, and you should be okay.
Forgot to add that in places like that, it's really the guard you have to worry about. They know the place is full of short timers who don't want trouble. So the guards fuck with them, because they know they won't do anything back due to the risk of having more time added, or being sent to a prison.

honestly so much depends on the specific jail. the one i served a year in was in a nearly all white area of FL, and was fine... honestly the externals sucked hard (i.e. my family and fiancee being on the outside), but jail itself was mostly boring but plenty of good times too.
any fighting at all meant 30-90 days or more in seg, so the niggers and the few violent whites were gone from the pod in days, leaving the rest of us to just sit around and gamble, watch tv, and read.
then once you got on work details, pretty good actually, especially if the guards knew you weren't trouble... in the kitchen, we'd sneak big chocolate cakes and chicken wings from the guard cafeteria supplies, that and some other jobs gave chances to hang out and even get some alone time with the girl inmates, which you really start missing. once i was sentenced the outside jobs were great... just like working normal for a day. little to no supervision, any fast food we wanted, at public places with the normal population... and of course the access to drugs that brings
that said, i live in nyc now and rikers is a fucking violent shithole i would *not* want to be in

my jail had two types of pods, one with legit open showers and toilets and no invidual cells, then the ones with individual cells meant you could close the door for privacy in some, put up a shit sheet in others, and the showers had partial doors so you only saw feet and heads unless you walked right up and looked over (nobody ever does).
the worst invasion of privacy was the daily strip searches i got (when working, because any time outside the secure-door without eyes-on supervision the whole time required one on return). but that's just a few seconds not nearly as bad as having to shit or shower in front of people.

Jail and prison have their pros and cons. At least a pro about jail is there is much less privacy which equates to generally being safer. The conditions are worse and you get less to do.
So its a trade-off. At least the possibility of being killed, raped, or mutilated is fairly low compared to any 3-5th level prison.

yeah i didn't act like some tough guy at all, the coffee incident put it over the top but i was the guy who destroyed everyone and chess and scrabble, helped everyone with legal and discipline/grievance paperwork, and made everyone watch jeopardy every night (we were surprisingly civilized about the tv system... went by seniority for everything except 8-10pm, where we went by popular vote)...even in the regular pods before i was in the work pods)
