Is it true that every conductor will see at least one train suicide in their career?

How long are your trips usually?

Not necessarily a suicide but you will see a fatality. Some guys have gone 15 years without seeing anything though. But I'd say majority of train crews are involved in at least one fatality in their career.

It varies where you are, but where I work out of right now, they're usually 6-8 hours on duty, then about maybe 15 hours in the hotel, then maybe a 10-12 hour trip back.

It just varies on the train and day.

I'd kill myself if I were you.

The thought crosses my mind occasionally.

I’m thinking of freight hopping soon. Any tips, advice or anectodotal experience?

Stay away from the draw bars, watch out for open top cars, avoid the engines a lot of cameras inside them now.

I don't agree with it, but I know it happens. Just be safe, that's my only issue with it.

Have you mastered the art of multi track drifting?
