Hey OP, I'm an astronomy and physics major here at California Institute of Technology, popularly known as Caltech, one of the most prestigious and exclusive STEM research focused universities in the entire world. I can tell you with 100% certainty that 8% of 3208.5 is in fact 256.68. If you don't believe me then just take 256.68 for yourself and multiply it by 1/.08 and tell me what answer you get. I think you'll find that by no coincidence whatsoever that the number 3208.5 will come up on your calculator.
