The premise of the narrative is what would happen if some people were literal predators to the rest of humanity. To exist as one of these creatures would be reprehensible morally, because they live at the direct expense of other people. Their lives are paid for with lives.
This presents very few ways of justifying ones existence. Either embrace their nature as monsters and live for the sake of living, fabricating entirely new moral codes, or finding some means of redeeming oneself. The main character will grapple with all three of these, and other characters will as well to one degree or another.
I understand this premise has been done before, but I feel like many of the examples I have read/watched didn't explore the moral question nearly enough.

Actually going for something along the lines of Hellsing with the action, and Berserk with the character development.
How could you justify your life if it is at the expense of others.
mercenary work would be the ideal job in a society of humans with superhuman monsters, their skills would be wanted on the battlefield. They could satisfy their needs by feeding of their enemies, who are trying to kill them anyways.
So I took that and ran with it. i imagined normal people would see them like scavengers always chasing for the next battle like vulture or Crows. I though they may adopt that as iconography being called a crow or raven is allot more palatable than being called a monster, or demon.
So they call themselves the Raven Born and form a militaristic sub society, with a focus on Honor brotherhood and battle prowess, kindof like viking warrior loges of history. It's the only place they can fit in the world and they try to make the best of it.

Visual Novels are games, but it would be nice to make one if we get the funding.
It's a light novel with extra graphics. The story has been a W.I.P since 2012. So far there is 5 books, none of which are completed that I'm juggling.
We're starting with the last in the series, and then working our way back. In total. The series is longer than all the Harry Potter novels combined... hopefully that's a good thing.
Anything having to do with teeth make me uncomfortable. I always have dreams of biting so hard they break.

My setting has a similar thing going on. It's in the future, but soceity fell apart due to a flood of Chaotic energy that renders most modern teck impossible to use. Some places got hit harder than others, so some places have advanced teck while others have regressed to late 19 century teck. Found it allowed for very diverse setting.
The primary setting is within Arslanian Empire it is kindof a loose confederation of small states that are constantly squabbling over land and resources ( image the Holy Roman Empire with 1950 teck)

That is an interesting combination. We're working on more Mech designs. Currently, the two most modern ones are from an SR-71 Blackbird and an AC130.
The more realistic designs got pitched because the made the AC130 look like a god- and it would be going against WW2 tech. -w-
