to label AiC simply 'grunge' is doing them a disservice i think.
they're so much more than that, and encompassed and incorporated so many different genres, styles and influences into their music than most other bands of the time.
i just think it's unfortunate that they got famous at the same time as Nirvana etc, and most people at the time just lumped them in with 'grunge' as they didn't really know what they were listening to, and the visual style of the band kinda/sorta fitted in with the grunge scene, and of course they were from Seattle.
