Same here.
Learned in a repair shop for all electro-mechanical machines. Motors, transformers, generators, but only smaller machines. The biggest motor we had in the shop had 600 kW.

Then switched over to the automation business, and now mostly doing software.

Are you trying to save that bearing? Just cut the bearing apart and carefully cut the inner race

why?

Much quicker and safer for the winding to use a flame and heat it up instead of using a grinder.

The company I work for we trash any motor less than a 100hp they say it's not worth the money to have them rebuilt

There are so many funny tools when you are working with eletrical machines.

All kinds of flamable materials, hydraulic presses, liquid nitrogen, ...

Most of the time this method works very well and very fast. In this department we have all kinds of heat and in addition very stare hydraulic pullers.
And we are very strong too.
We are affectionate only with windings.

We work for many companies, including the railway. Bad are only machines from the food industry.
