am i gonna end up like you?
How do you work despite this? I literally can't leave my house. 22, ugly as fuck, chronic insomnia, college dropout.
Yes.
Go to a psychiatrist.
Are you currently applying to higher paying jobs, and if not, why?
I am. Send several hundred applications in the last few years.
>36
>minimum wage job
you can't even rise in the ranks at a shit job and be a manager or general manager of a place by 36?
I'm 23 and I'm the general manager of a Subway making 2k salary bi-weekly, all I do is make orders for bags of mayonaisse and bags of lettuce and shit and force high school kids to do the shit work, shit the high schoolers make more than minimum wage at my store
You're fucking stupid if you're still working for nothing at 36, no excuses you're just retarded as a potato
You must be a real retard if you can't find a decent job at that age
What degrees do you have?
Your chronic illness is you being a lazy fucking pussy beta
>you can't even rise in the ranks at a shit job and be a manager or general manager of a place by 36?
I've been in this position for about a year. I only doing it to pay the bills while looking for a real job.
I am.
I have a Bachelor, Master and PhD in molecular biology. And yes, I was young and stupid in choosing this field.
Actually, it's Crohn's.
What does your resume look like? School excluded.
So yeah you drink too much dew and shit your pants, sounds like a beta nwckbeard spaz to me
Chrons is just a made up disease for people who eat like shit and want to make excuses
There isn't much beyond schooling. Some internships in academic labs during my undergrad. And four years of postdoc of my PhD.
I eat super clean actually.
Have you not been working before this?
>32 years old
>Been more years than I care to count since I last had sex
>No friends
>No relationship with family
>Minimum wage job, no qualifications
>Still not a depressed sack of shit and actually enjoy because I understand that it's all about perspective
You control how you respond to what happens on your life.
Life is a game, and a pretty simple one at that.
We created the complex.
I call bullshit, if you cant get your runs under control its your own fault, stop denying that your diet is shitty and you will help yourself faster
I finished my PhD at 30. Spend four years as postdoc after that. Been looking a permanent job since then.
Seriously, my diet is fine.
Well, I think that was your main mistake, staying in school that long with no work. I would suggest trying to find a "skilled" entry level job just as a resume builder, and stay there for a year or so. Right out of highschool I got a minimum wage job making composite panels, and I stayed there for a year. Just having that on my resume got me a job at Boeing. A little experience in the right area(s) is worth more than a lot of schooling.
>Well, I think that was your main mistake, staying in school that long with no work.
It's kind of a normal biologist's career path. I chose to do a PhD because it was paid, I had many offers from different labs and I was unable to find anything in industry after my Masters.
It's partially society.
I try to talk to people but about 75% wont even look up from their phone.
Literally saw a smoking hot chick at a beach but she barely talked to me it was like text, text, text.
28
Not laid in more than a year
No reliable friends
Family are literal npcs and absentee father
Depressed more often that I want to admit
The reality is if people were less about tv and showing off guys like you and me might actually have better lives but I'm convinced outside of the internet 99% of the population globally only cares about themselves.
Seriously I know you are lying because if your chronic illness is a problem it is your own fault for not adjusting your diet to fix it
Betas who make excuses to be pussies right here
>It's partially society.
>I try to talk to people but about 75% wont even look up from their phone.
>Literally saw a smoking hot chick at a beach but she barely talked to me it was like text, text, text.
Your entitlement is palpable.
Maybe the person she was texting was more interesting than your beta clown ass
>Seriously I know you are lying because if your chronic illness is a problem it is your own fault for not adjusting your diet to fix it
Please tell me how to adjust my diet then. I've already eliminated gluten, lactose and FODMAP.
Ah yes, the phd trap. I studied chemistry, did my phd, did a postdoc, did another postdoc in another country, worked and published like a maniac. No job. I did not expect it to be easy, but that it would be so difficult to find anything and that I would face permanent unemployment is something I did not expect to happen.
My professors say that they pity me. Yeah, thanks guys...
Crohns disease is caused by inflammation. You can always try diets, but there is no cure known for this disease, yet.

OP here. You are completely right. The whole scientific field is a ponzi scheme.
it's called start eating organic food and cooking your own meals instead of eating processed everything
you do realize the pharmaceutical companies are making millions on retards like you guys convincing you that eating frozen/fast foods is okay for you while it rots away your insides? DO NOT tell me you don't because I was diagnosed with Crohn's a few years back and ever since I stopped crap foods it stopped, countless others have done the same, do your fucking research neckbeards
>it's called start eating organic food and cooking your own meals instead of eating processed everything
Organic food is not more or less nutritious than non-organic food. Many of the pesticides used in organic farming have been removed from conventional farming for good reasons.
Also, there is a difference between frozen / conserved food and processed food. Snap-frozen broccoli is for instance more nutritious than broccoli which has not be frozen. Likewise, canned tomatoes are preferable to fresh tomatoes in both taste and nutritiousness.
Also, I love cooking and always prepare my own meals.
I'm a failure too

>Bad personality/asshole and not the "ooh we need to be around him" but more the, "he isn't worthy of even paying attention too"
>No friends
>No family
>Nobody talks to me
>People that do talk to me don't want to
>Not kissless but couldn't maintain a relationship for the life of me
>No females
>Can't a) find a female b)maintain a female
Op, what can I do?
Idc about army but I know I might die
That don't matter to me
Op, what can I do?
Okay, keep lying about what you do enjoy your diarrhea
>cant maintain a female
you dont maintain the female you maintain yourself to keep the female around dipshit
shit mang sucks to be you. I'm a 24 year old virgin.. i turn 25 in a week.. i decided to lose my virginity to an escort before i turn 25... but shit is scary
Yes. And it also rewards the most ruthless assholes publishing bullshit and creating hot air. I love science. But the way it is done is just beyond idiotic. It is malicious.
Bumping
Very true.
Bumping so op can reply
This is exactly why I decided to stop at my masters degree and not pursue a PhD...
Didn't they give lectures on publishing pressure and the like? This opened my eyes, was the last year of my masters though so.
Did research in psychology, visual perception to be precise, now working IT as a sys admin
Making 50+k a year as a subway manager? That’s a fucking lie.
Why don't you at least get a hooker?
My professors were very open about the fact that most people will not find a permanent position in academic research. However, they always emphasised that there are many positions in industry (pharma/biotech/consulting) and that many of these positions require a PhD nowadays. What they did not say was that there are many more graduates than positions.
And you will not do anything related to what you learned, there.
