I will go on vacation and I want to steam link through my tablet
anyone? am a weenie and need help
am sad
post cock and i will help
no, not unless your BIOS explicitly has that option
the wake on pcie , it does
I have a decent asus mobo, I don't see why it shouldnt
don't think so, u can try it tho
he has a dongle, bios option would not help
there is no option only via ethernet?
what if a get a wifi card that connects to mobo?
Steam Link runs in your local network, it's not like a cloud streaming service.
i will just leave this here
>microsoft com/en-us/previous-versions/windows/hardware/wireless/wake-on-wireless-lan
nope, I can play with my tablets cellular data plan anywhere as long as the pc is on. I just want to know how I can wol my pc running wifi or would I need an alternative wifi adapter that connects to my mobo
how long you gonna be gone?
few days since the trip is long I can easily play on the road
>few days
just leave the fucking thing on then. who cares. set your on board vga to primary and you will draw half the power
wake option via ethernet would only work with built on lan adapter
this would work if you configure wol in adapter settings in windows after you enable wake on pcie in bios
That is beyond my scope of knowledge. It wants me to write my own driver, I can try but I fear I will fuck something up
I can but my PC Is a beefcake of a powerhouse it is an oven
yeah I have wake pcie on. so it would be beneficial to go to my local frys electronics and purchase a pcie wifi card?
>beefcake of a powerhouse it is an oven
what is an oven? there are two things that draw power gpu and cpu, your cpu will be idling most of the time and gpu will be off... what are you overcloking amd cpu there//?
if its beyond the scope of your knowledge, then it would be very likely the same considering you have to configure your network to support it. also, if its not asking you to program anything its simply explaining to you how it works why it works and the various protocols reliant on it.
I am running a 2080ti on 32gb of ram so even idling just being on Yea Forums runs at 46c
moreover, try this?

Hi user. I just wanted to say that I *love* the picture of Pepe you posted along with your innocent request. It is SOOO CUTE!!!! AWWW!!!! Here's a hug for making me smile ----> *hugs* Please reply with a hug!!!
I might need a better circulating case
there would possibly be a way to get wol to work through the usb dongle since the usb controller is connected through the pcie bus, but for simplicity a pcie wifi adpater would be much easier. it would all depend on your bios to get the usb adapter to work
I believe there is an option to keep usb devices powered on, on low, while off
thanks, g. hugs
so turn it off/? what mobo you have that doesn't have on board vga/?
btw there has to be something awfully wrong with your card as the new cards idle at like no power draw
5820ks are like no longer manufactured. I need to upgrade my stuff
might work, you need to check your adapter properties in windows and see if the dongle even has wol support first
nice catch. I may have it on high, let me see if I know how to switch to adaptive
I have that option enabled in power management. how to make it work?
enable bios settings and enable windows adapter settings. read at the bottom of the page how to use wol
