the fact that hydrus is able to do drag and drop stuff just like explorer (including dragging and dropping into discord) is big for me, though
if that wasn't there i would've uninstalled it immediately
now i'm just considering whether or not i want to abandon my comfy filetree
and if i even want to get started on the 300k+ files i have, because i'd want to manually tag all of them

That's the other good part, you don't have to manually tag them. Look into the public tag repository. Chances are, a fair but of what you have are properly documented in there. Once you sync to the tag repository, imported images will be populated with tags

That's... rather interesting, but if that works for you. It could at least shortcut some of the tagging for you, theoretically, if you knew there were reliable parent-child tag relationships that your tagging system could mesh with
