I think a new dog might be healthy for you, but first you need to get healthy too. Try working out and taking high end vitamins. That helped me a lot to get better. I don't think I'll handle my dogs dying too well.
I have to stagger their ages because I know they'll die eventually. At least the younger "wifes" will keep me going when the others eventually die. Then we all reunite in dog heaven. I want to call them more than that, because "wife" isn't really such a spiritual or romantic term anymore.

There's no logical reason to feel that way. It's sad that you feel that way for so long. I think you should wait maybe 6 months to a year before getting a few females. Work out and try a hobby until then. Then you will recover and have something big to look forward to. More companionship and loyal love for decades to come.
