haven't seen any outrage, only laughter and honking

Trump supporter here. You can't be neutral on a moving train, user, but I'll respect your right to abstain. If you do decide to vote, do your research, understand biases (there's a lot of them, from fox news to google's search algorithms) and don't vote just for the sake of placating or 'fitting in' with either group. There's no shame being unaffiliated if you're not reasonably versed, and if social issues are a concern, do what YOU and you alone think is best. If you don't think it will coincide with those around you and you don't want to raise animosity, put on the unaffiliated face and do your talking on the ballot.

Don't let one side tell you you shouldn't vote for the other side because they're not literally Jesus while citing some minor flaw, because they're probably vouching for Satan, metaphorically speaking.

hey thanks good advice user and very true. i am aware of all the misinformation and manipulate and i think that is one of the biggest barriers of me researching and learning, not sure who to trust and i am too lazy to care as it doesn't impact my life directly. i respect you for saying that though

Choose black or white for your core beliefs.
Now compromise your beliefs to 'work across the Isle'
Creating the magical grey zone you probably already reside in.

All I can really say is live life, have experiences and weigh what people say vs what's logical and real to you.

That said, I would consider it a direct impact, as these people write your laws and seek to shift your culture to one they deem more desirable. You could even be sent to die at any time if anyone wants a significant enough war, and even current legal protections won't stop it as even just American history has showed.

that part scares me the most how easily i can be silenced and framed as just another crazy internet person so it puts me off from getting involved, i think i have just lost hope completely and see another war coming soon or a technological advance that will enslave people even further. i just want VR to become mainstream so i can fall asleep and live inside another world

hmmmm i think i just wont vote because its all bullshit

>get out and vote
>"how anyone could vote for (the only other option)?"

I don't vote, but only because I understand how the electoral college works in a blue state. And unless there are 300k others thinking the same thing, my vote is worthless.

I'd also classify myself as moderate, I voted democrat from my voting age of Obama both times to now Trump (and will again next year), but like user said earlier: do your research. It's tough during local elections since you really have to go out of your way to find the stances of like city council members but at that point party affiliation doesn't really matter and it's just down to what issues you agree with them on.

Well, who do you trust is less likely to get you into war or enslave your mind through technology? Do you think VR won't be used to the benefit of those who'd wish you ill? After all, if you're stuck in VR all day, they can't collect taxes from you. I personally wouldn't ally with anyone who'd advocate the ability to upload a conciousness or personality, because once we're reduced to data, that data can be copied, pasted, and run into simulations. Picture you have a new life but it's in the hellscape of one's choosing, your conciousness enslaved to run simulations to test projects and ideas for near infinity, ten million times at once.

The day 'upload your mind' becomes mainstream, I'm finding the most primitive looking rock and bashing my own skull in because I don't trust that shit.

I for one cant wait for the remake of the black panther where they cast daniel craig as the black panther and white people for everyone in wakonda.

I mean race does not matter now right?

ye i agree i don't trust it either for that reason, i just seem to focus on the negative side of everything now and can't think of the positive unless the negative can be avoided, but it won't be - human nature is to enslave people and profit from it, so i believe they will always aim to do it. i don't trust anyone for that reason, i'm not scared of dying but i feel a bit pathetic not doing anything to try and better the human race - it just doesn't seem like the powers that be are ever going to change their views, or even are open to the possibility of changing, so many issues get ignored, so much pain and suffering exists in the world and people just carry on with their own lives ignoring everything else and i do the same. i know there are things i could do, but i just realise even if i helped that person, the issue would just replicate itself over and over again with others. i am staying alive to help my grandma with her stroke at the moment, but after that i can't see anything else to do.

i also hate the lack of communication and how it's not taught or encouraged when we are younger. my communication skills suck and i don't feel comfortable talking about anything in real life, so many things i want to say but scared to do it.

I want to see the Nelson Mandella story, starring Mel Gibson, the MLK Jr story, starring Jackie Chan and the story of David, King of Israel, played by Will Smith. Maybe the story of Muhammad, played by Jennifer Annison

Yeah you can stay in the middle if you want to be treated like a kebab
