The book was written decades ago, and you STILL mad about it? That's just not living a full life.

I'm not mad about it. I'm just saying it doesn't make sense.

Opviously didn't read all the books.

he mad

pretty much this the mad is overwhelming. I have to take my dog to the vet now.

The eagles were not a deus ex machina. They didnt change the outcome of this epic story, they only changed the outcome of whether sam and frodo survived after destroying the ring. Sauron would have been defeatee and the war won with or without eagles. P.s. they didn't fight anyone, dumbshit.

No. Next question.

I have to read every single book for it to make sense? That's stupid.

They didn't change the outcome because Gandolf never brought it up during the faggy meeting of the fellowship. Yes they did fucking fight when tehy got to the black gate. Go watch the movie again.

bros think the snappening was good

The one good argument I heard is that the Eagles would have been highly susceptible to the power of the Ring. Due to how ancient and powerful they already were. For instance Gandalf absolutely refused to touch the Ring. The reason the Hobbits were able to resist it as much as they were is due to how relatively meek they were as a race.

How would they be corrupted by the ring though? That doesn't make sense

Wouldn't the Nazgul rip them to shreds and the eye of Sauron burn/stun them? The whole idea of the fellowship was to sneak Frodo in stealthily.

There was also the theory that the eagles would have met them after passing the mountains before the mines in Khazad-dûm detour. As it would have been a less conspicuous place to meet with the eagles if any assistance was required given that the spies of Sauron were lurking near by and also Gandalf knew that Saruman was on to them.
This said the only person who could have possibly known this was Gandalf. We know what happened in Khazad-dûm, leaving the party without a path to take to their final destination. The eagles later show up once Gandalf is a player in the game again, giving some credibility to this.

Also the eagles could not have been possibly corrupted, specifically because of how ancient they are, there is an omitted character, Tom Bombadil of name, that can see Frodo with the ring on without any issues and addressing him in a friendly, reassuring, tone when Frodo puts the ring on in fear of him.

>how does the symbolism of Satan's temptation tempt a character in a children's book
Really makes you wonder

If all of that is true why didn't they just give the ring to the eagles from the start?

They didn't have to fly into Mordor itself, just take Frodo to the gate. Then they could've had their faggy standoff with the orcs. Making Frodo walk there was a massive time of EVERYONE'S time.

>Movie

They were demi-gods they can't be corrupted by the ring

Yes, LOTR is a movie. Try to keep up kid.

I dont watch cartoons

Not a cartoon either. Anymore questions son?

Are you going to post this every night?
Just read the books, they answer everything.

There are 9 mounted Nazgul. If they detected Frodo and the ring they could just swoop in and snatch the ring. No matter Frodos party size or if he was on an Eagle.

I already saw the fucking movie why would I read the books? You read stories where you already know the ending?

Plus what's wrong with me asking questions? Does that hurt your little ego?

Kek alright user

They could've flew low or into the mountains if that was the issue. They were already going to Frodo's house on horses anyway.

To answer your questions op you dumb faggot so you stop asking us

It's true what do you mean?

Boramir was corrupted by it with just one touch. Frodo leans forward to much, it touches the eagle. Boom, the Dark Lord now has the eagles.

Are you retarded?

Seriously, what is the problem here? Does asking questions frighten you? Why do questions scare you?

Mordor had anti-eagle technology. The forces of good had to shut that down before the eagles could enter Orc airspace.

imdb.com/title/tt0077869/?ref_=fn_tt_tt_9

Boramir was a man though. Eagles are not guys.

No?

Because they would get nuked if they did this directly, as you can see by the prowess of the Nâzgul on the Fell beasts. The simple anatomical description of these fell beasts would indicate that they are more agile than the eagles and better fit for aerial combat. Also the eagles are intelligent and their interest is not in perishing in a kamikazi style attack on a last ditch effort.
In sum, the eagles are not retarded and they were only ever ment to take them to the Black Gate and due to all of these detours they only showed up later as no one was talking with them anyway and they can't guess. Not even Sauron knew were they were let alone the eagles, and Sauron is more ancient than them.

They could just drop them off at the gate then everyone has their faggy stand off. What's the problem?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_Dome

How would they get nuked? They were fighting the Nazgul at the gate and were winning, so I think they could handle it.

Read

I read it that's not right though

Yes, after winning on all other fronts prior to that, hello?
How does that look like when they take flight, Sauron sees them, they take a few days to fly there and meanwhile the full force of Mordor assembles, with all the fell beasts, witchkings, oliphants and all the other fuckery that was spread out on the other battles won with help of many men, alive and dead alike.

How is this not clear? It's a few fucking birds

Gandalf was like a God. Why didn't he just cast a teleportation spell?

You can think of a many reasons it didn't make sense. But still good.

Neither were the elves or dwarves. The elves being more ancient than man were more vulnerable to the power of the Ring. The eagles were more ancient than they were.

Cannot meddle in the affairs of men directly, his God and creator wills it.

>The world is flat
>I don't need to read science to know that
>bible

What I'm saying though is they could've skipped all of that by just going to the gate with the men, then having Frodo sneak in with the ring. They all ended up there either way. They didn't even have to have that huge battle in the second movie.

They don't teleport in the movie

For example, Tom Bombabil, mentioned above. He was so ancient he could see Frodo with his ring on and didn't give a fuck

The dwarves can't be corrupted by the ring either. I'm not seeing your point.

Doesn't Euron or whatever meddle in the books at the end?

If you just finished watching THREE movies that cover all of humanity's history why the fuck would you read about it after that? Just to be a stupid fuck?

The Eagles are not demigods. They are regular beasts, just with extremely long lifespans.

And if Gandalf (a literal Maia) was afraid of being corrupted, then it could for sure affect the Eagles.

He wasn't in the movie though so why does it matter?

They would have done that after the mountains before they were made to go through the mines of Moria. They missed the randevouz and only Gandalf knew of it. They were forced to take another path and lost their guide. The eagles would have taken them there, after meeting them after the mountains, they just never found them and Gandalf could not convey any information to them until being brought back as Gandalf the white. It was late unfortunately, but not late enough that they could not be recovered in Mordor, something the eagkes only did AFTER the defeat of all Mordor

Why didn't he bring it up during their faggy meeting with the elf? He knew about the eagles the whole time and used one himself as a taxi service. Even after he came back the second time he didn't bring it up. Then uses one to fly into Mordor to pick up Frodo. The whole thing makes no sense.

Yes they were demi gods

Age has nothing to do with being corrupted by the ring. Tom Bombadil isn't affected by the ring probably because he's fucking Tom Bombadil.

Elrond is an Elf, Gandalf is a demi-god from outside the plane of creation.
Gandalf is a Maiar created by "God" directly, the world is an antfarm to him, Elrond is just an ant.

>I already saw the fucking movie why would I read the books?
weak bait

Attached: TN-Illuin_Lamp_of_the_Valar.jpg (638x960, 122K)

He came back not even knowing who the fuck he was let alone that birds were supposed to pick him up after some shitty mountains weeks ago.

Because the movies always cover all of the details of the books.
Yup, never leave details or 90% of the story out or anything.
Jurassic Park was 100% like the book.
Stay mad and stay in school, kid.

Except it gave the rest of the world time to distract Sauron and keep the eye focused on them? So the hobbits could sneak in? Because there was a horde of thousands of orcs crawling all over the place? So even if the Eagles did drop them off, they'd just get swarmed and murdered instantly?

Exists in the same work and can be used as an example as it still is canon. Not sure if bait

Eagles=Angels

Absolutely not. Morgoth's Ring volume 10. Tolkien first thought of them as Maiar, but decided against it. They were taught language and given intelligence by the Valar, but they were just normal birds otherwise.

Lord of the ring was written for a contest against Narnia. The contest was write a fantasy story with the as many bible references as they could do , Narnia Won

You can safely assume it has no affect on anything not derived from the first men. Eagles included, along side many beasts surely. And you can't mention Shelob as a counter because she is derived from Ungoliant and they didn't get along with Melkor, associated with Sauron. So at best some ancient creatures could want it out of spite and not from the rings corruption.

Not true but kek'd

It's not really about how new they are as a race, but how content they are with their world.

In the book, the brief time that Sam has the ring it tempts him by saying he could use it to make Mordor a beautiful garden.

Give it to a Human and they want to use it to become king.

Gandalf isn't derived from the first men, and yet he is afraid it will affect him. Ditto for Saruman, a literal Maia.

Only proves fear and greed are powerful things

It's an 80 year-old story and you made a thread about it today. Sounds pretty great to me!

Proves you're spouting bullshit with no supporting evidence from the text, you douchecanoe.

So because something is old we can't talk about it? How old are you?

Can you prove or show me how any Maiar, despite fear or greed created from contact with men, was ever affect by the ring?
Can't argue so we revert to ad hominem?
Good luck in life, don't bother answering, it's rhetorical and I don't have time to wait for you to fight the Eco in your head and come up with an answer.
