I need pc tech support Yea Forums. My PC is freezing every few minutes, then the screen goes black the keyboard lights flicker on and off and then the computer dies.

I've tried switching to a different psu, thinking it was a power supply issue. But no dice. The bitch is failing me.

can you view the motherboard? Don't turn the power on anymore. If possible, take a pic of the motherboard and post if here. also try to identify any corrosion

Did you jizz all over it, friend?

this will help determine if it is a software problem or a hardware problem

No corrosion visible. I can kinda view the motherboard, I've opened it up a few times since the problem started and all looks normal. No burn marks.

I did not, but it's a fair question

completely open it again and take a close look, you have to be sure everything is normal. post a pic if possible user.

Thermal paste could be degraded or non existent. Take CPU out and slather some more on.

Check the temperature in the BIOS or using software. make sure the CPU fan is running correctly.

It's passively cooled. However, temperature is always very moderate, when it crashes it's in the 50c to 60c range.

Check the voltage is correct with a paper clip

Done it, wasn't that unfortunately.

That's in poor taste user, this is a gentlemanly thread for gentlemen. I'm dissapointed in you.

what pc do you have, or did built your own?

Built it all myself user.

>Components:
>Monsterlabo the one case
>Ryzen 3600
>RTX 2080TI fe
>Asus x470 mini itx gaming
>Seasonic 450 watt Power supply
>2 x 2.5 ssd
>One fan

Thats too low for thermal cutout.

Tell me about your thermal paste. Does it exist.

It does indeed exist, I'm using Arctic MX-4 thermal compound.

After you boot, tell us exactly what happens and at what points you receive probs

also, how long has your pc been stable? anything you might have recently done?

Guess your bios isnt ready yet for the new gen 3 chip

I boot, sometimes it can be okay for up to two hours. Other times it crashes within a minute upon booting up, and once it crashes it keeps on crashing even after rebooting.

It usually crashes at idle, rather than gaming or heavy usage. Temps are normal at time of crash.

I recently upgraded from a ryzen 2600x to a ryzen 3600. That's when the problem first started, despite having a lower back tdp. Very strange.

pepe is a hate symbol. reported

>One fan
Well there's your problem, user. You're running a bunch of top-tier components with 1993-tier cooling. Check if your fan's clogged, and also check your cables. All of them. You would be shocked how many times one fucking cable nerfs an entire box

Did you check compatibility? I know it's all AM4 socket but tech be wildin sometimes

Interesting theory, any cables I should be focusing on in particular?

pcpartpicker.com/list/

after adding your components, the site mentioned a compatibility problem. with the 2600x, none were found, however adding the 3600 this error was mentioned.

"Warning! Some AMD X470 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Zen 2 CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions."

have you looked into this?

The CPU is listed as being supported by my current bios firmware version, which is the latest.

>any cables I should be focusing on in particular?
Anything related to power, SSD, anything that might cause any kind of surge/malfunction. My pc wouldn't boot because the video card wasn't in the top pcie slot. Check the simplest thing first, then advance.

are you sure 450watts is adequate? that could be the problem.

you need a better PSU homie.

It hits like 402 max in AIDA64. Pretty sure it's up to the job.

What is the PSU rated? You don't get a consistent 450 output, something like 80+ bronze certified means it may get down to 80% efficiency.

It's 80+ platinum.

not an expert but have you tried removing gpu and ram and putting them back in? also remove all cables and put them back in one by one

have you tried your parallel port floppy socket jumpers, sometimes they go all beep boop and in reality they are supposed to go beep beep bop? also, adjust your simm ISA boot blue screen as it can throw faults scsi server downtime.

still, this could be your problem user. upgrade your psu

I have the same problem windows 18362 i think that's the latest one. Fucked broadcom wifi cards aka asus ac88 and other brands. am guessing your motherboard asus? Take out the WiFi card you will see or disable it. Turn on WiFi on your phone then USB connect i hope your android phone and turn on tether over USB. You will have Internet. Wait for fix or reinstall older Windows version. Am moving to centos fuck windows.
