Dunno. Maybe some grasping wish to pass on some institutional memory of good bantz and epic trolls that actually were fun, made people laugh out loud, instead of this neverending cesspool of porn and desperate clickbait. Yea Forums was never really great, with the gets autism and lots of shitposting, but at least posters made an effort and the weakest were saged and banned. A sense of community. Now logposting is considered “epic”.
